  1. Because the story is BS. I got sick and lost 40 lbs, so I roided up. OK. Do you think the Rangers knew that? I wonder if Hector can vouge for him.
  2. Not as pathetic as his. By the time I was properly diagnosed and treated, I had lost 40 pounds. Just weeks before I was to report to spring training in 2012, I was unsure whether I would be physically able to play. Faced with this situation, I made an error in judgment that I deeply regret, and I accept full responsibility for that error. I should have handled the situation differently, and my illness was no excuse.
  3. Sure, but Cruz's excuse was maybe the worst of all time.
  4. Signing Robert. Trading Q, Sale and Eaton. If not for the trade capital they had, this team would be horrible for a long time. Not many teams had what they had to trade when going into a rebuild.
  5. Maybe not but I was reading up on Taillon a week or so ago, and he is about ready to go. He has new mechanics and has shortened his motion a la Giolito. Not to the extent of Lucas, but shortened it notheless. He does have #3 or #2 upside and is only making around $3 million with at least one more year of control. I would have liked to see the Sox send a few of their lesser prospects. This guy is probably a good bet to give you the same amount of innings as Garrett Richards in 2021, and if all went well could slide into Lynn's spot in 2022, all for not much cash. It's really no big deal to me, but I think there may have been an opportunity there.
  6. I'm surprised Tony didn't insist they sign Eck to close.
  7. It happens all the time. Sox may sign Machado. Maybe Harper. Maybe both. Or Jon Jay and Kelvin Herrera. That is why we are the Wiley Coyote. We fall for it every time
  8. I am sure everyone would be, but if it was considered likely by the industry, he would be out of the White Sox price range.
  9. Good luck k with that. There is no question, unless there are a lot of injuries, the White Sox are going to be a good, fun team in 2021. But face it , this offseaon, just like most others. We are the Wiley Coyote of fanbases.
  10. This is reas. They gave up their 15th ranked. 19th ranked, 23 rd ranked and unranked for a guy with a lot of questions, but a ton up upside.
  11. That costs money. Might as well get the production for minimum or close for a few years.
  12. The world champion Nationals in 2019 had Brian Dozier at 2B. He put up a1.6 WAR.
  13. I would let them have their choice between Adolfo and Rutherford, and some other fodder.
  14. You could make the case it was OK if he helps them win at least one playoff series as that could help them moving forward. If not, it was taking a shot and failing.
  15. I wonder what the look on JR’s grandchildren’s faces is when they open up what they think is an IPad and it’s some knockoff.
  16. Kind of hard to build up WAR when you play in 29 games.
  17. The projections have him between 1.8 and 2.4. The Last team LaRussa managed won a WS with a 0.3 WAR SS and a 0.2 WAR 2B.
  18. They did. Now he probably cant outperform Colome’s 2020 except for maybe advanced wise but that doesn’t give you extra wins. But they did set themselves up nicely for games they lead late.and he is very likely to outperform Colome going forward.
  19. And about as likely as winning the Mega Millions.
  20. Would you suggest the Sox trade Robert this season if he gets off to a tough start?
  21. I doubt Keuchel gives you a sub 2.00 ERA again. There is a decent chance Lynn regresses a little. The projections even seem to think Giolito might fall back some. But usually the projections are pretty conservative. Cease has great stuff. If he gets some command, he will be fine. Kopech looked great in spring training, but who knows how much rust he has, and how many innings the Sox want to send him out there. I still have some hope for Lopez but he is probably almost out of rope. The Sox are short with starters. I think JR looks at Cleveland and thinks no way they will hold up now. Probably looks at Minnesota and thinks they have a lot of work to do to get back to what they were and not much time to do it, and decides the Sox are good enough where they are at or some Wainwright level addition. Hopefully it doesn’t come back to bite him in the ass in October.
  22. They weren’t trying very hard. I am sure a team would take him off the Sox hands.
  23. Cheap Christmas trees usually don’t light up. That’s why they are cheap.
  24. One encouraging thing about him is he has decided to change his delivery. I guess 2 Tommy John’s get you to start thinking there might be a better way.
