  1. I posted back when he was drafted, Jim Callis said had there been a College Baseball season, Crochet wouldn’t have been available at 11. Assuming his arm didn’t fall off, he appears to be correct.
  2. I think TA cooling of a bit really helps him. The White Sox vote would have been split.
  3. I wouldn’t say Eloy is made of glass, it’s just that his injuries occur over stupid things like not knowing where the wall is or showboat sliding into home for no reason. Hopefully, he will learn, He definitely is getting a bit better in LF.
  4. If you are going to be with family members, my question would be why do you have to be at a bar exposing yourself to others? If you are so careful to always wear a mask except when taking a drink, washing your hands constantly, and staying away from people, it makes no sense you would want to do this at a bar, where, if you are there long enough, someone is sure to slip up.
  5. Uh, the Sox do have a guy who has hit 6 homers against them this year.
  6. They had a live look in at the Cleveland game tonight on MLBN. The Indians TV crew thinks they have broken the White Sox.
  7. Back in the day, a lot of people bought Ozzie was doing virtually the same thing, until they realized attention was something he needed immensely.
  8. Ricky's use of the bullpen has scratched heads ever since he was managing the Cubs. So that is not going to change. They are 1 game out of first despite a horrible road trip. A couple of nice games to close it out would be fun. I don't think they would even consider firing him, as this is how he has run a bullpen his entire managerial career. It is no surprise. The front office obviously thinks his positves, which he certainly has, outweighs the negatives. But running a bullpen is critical.
  9. Engel has been hitting lefties,McCann has been flailing away for a while , so naturally lift Engel for McCann.
  10. If the Sox come back and take the lead, RR should give the 9th to Ruiz as his going away gift.
  11. Stone with a sarcastic, there Aaron Bummer warming up in the bullpen.
  12. I don’t know if he is done. If he can throw 96 or 97 and get his slider back, he could be a really nice reliever. This just wasn’t the time to put him in. Let him start an inning.
  13. I agree. The guy hasn’t pitched in a real game in a couple of months and only a couple of real games in well over a year. Giving him no room for error the first appearance after his return is asking for trouble.
  14. It will be interesting to see what Rodon has coming out of the bullpen. Since his shoulder surgery, his first inning usually featured his lowest velocity. If he can throw 95 and command his slider, he would be pretty tough but he wasnt able to do that consistently before the shoulder and elbow problems. We will see. I have always liked him, but he is probably in his final days with the White Sox. I can’t see them paying him his arb figure. I really didn’t get why they did it this year.
  15. Detwiler should try to learn a knuckleball. I don’t know why guys with pretty much no career left don’t give it a shot, Obviously not everyone can do it, but some busted out pitcher out there could be the next RJDickey or Wilbur Wood. They fit into today’s game quite well. Everyone is geared up for 95-100. A floater is going to be a tough adjustment. They can eat up innings. Catchers hate them because their passed balls go up, but with sabermetrics they probably won’t be hurt too much. And yes, they usually are pretty easy to run on but nobody runs anymore. Todd Frazier was throwing one the other night, and struck someone and a couple cans of corn.
  16. I get that, I just hope Ricky doesn't get tossed and Super Joe thinks Ruiz is a good idea vs. Jose Ramirez with the game on the line tonight.
  17. Detwiler is going the wrong way and has a history showing that wrong way is really him. He's probably better than Ruiz. Cishek is probably better than Ruiz, but it's close enough for a who cares?
  18. Didn’t you once tell us it was very possible if not probable Luis Robert would have no valleys? I do agree with most of what you wrote. Playing the Yankees in round one isn’t optimal but they can at least lose one, and is it that much different than playing Cleveland? You have to beat them all anyway. I am hoping this is like 2005, bad baseball followed by another hot streak. Besides, I didn’t think they would win 34 games.
