Ricky is not getting fired and he is winning manager of the year
Dick Allen replied to Dominikk85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is why you will never be the GM. First, the Angels owe Maddon too much money. They aren't going to fire him. And if they did, to sign him would cost too much money. The Sox don't like high profiled managers. When is the last time they ever brought one in? Since JR bought the team almost 40 years ago, he inherited LaRussa, the Fregosi who was managing in the minor leagues, then Torborg, who had managed but was a retread. Then Manuel, a bench coach. Then Ozzie a 3rd base coach. Then Robin a College Baseball Analyst and roving instructor in the Sox minors. Then Renteria, one year experience then canned. This is what they hire. This is what your budget for a manager will be. Don't blow your interview on this. -
I don't know why people are so gung ho for Leury at this point. Thumb injury, hasn't played in a long while. To think he will be better than Mazara is a reach.

As far as I am concerned, this season is legitimate unless the Cubs win it all. Then it's a huge asterisk.

Yes, Wednesday. Playing a best of 3 vs. Oakland isn't bad. if they had kept the standard playoff format for this season, the Sox would have played Cleveland in the WC game.

The beginning of the Tuesday game is going to suck for TV. The NL game starts 3 hours before it, and you know it will last longer than that. Hopefully they will put the start on another espn channel.

I think his source is Jimmy. He had the Eloy extension stuff right after Jimmy. All his stuff that is correct, Jimmy has either posted or tweeted before him.

9/27 GT: Cubs @ Sox (2:10pm)

Yes. I can see where some took Jason’s statement like they did, but it didn’t mean he was leaving, leaving. He mike be going back to Arizona tomorrow. They live in the same building. -

Mazara should have walked, but he shouldn’t have batted. -
I posted back when he was drafted, Jim Callis said had there been a College Baseball season, Crochet wouldn’t have been available at 11. Assuming his arm didn’t fall off, he appears to be correct.

I think TA cooling of a bit really helps him. The White Sox vote would have been split. -
Eloy might not be ready for first playoff series
Dick Allen replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wouldn’t say Eloy is made of glass, it’s just that his injuries occur over stupid things like not knowing where the wall is or showboat sliding into home for no reason. Hopefully, he will learn, He definitely is getting a bit better in LF. -
If you are going to be with family members, my question would be why do you have to be at a bar exposing yourself to others? If you are so careful to always wear a mask except when taking a drink, washing your hands constantly, and staying away from people, it makes no sense you would want to do this at a bar, where, if you are there long enough, someone is sure to slip up.

Back in the day, a lot of people bought Ozzie was doing virtually the same thing, until they realized attention was something he needed immensely.

Ricky's use of the bullpen has scratched heads ever since he was managing the Cubs. So that is not going to change. They are 1 game out of first despite a horrible road trip. A couple of nice games to close it out would be fun. I don't think they would even consider firing him, as this is how he has run a bullpen his entire managerial career. It is no surprise. The front office obviously thinks his positves, which he certainly has, outweighs the negatives. But running a bullpen is critical.

If the Sox come back and take the lead, RR should give the 9th to Ruiz as his going away gift. -

The first hit off of Rodon wasn’t hit very hard. -

I don’t know if he is done. If he can throw 96 or 97 and get his slider back, he could be a really nice reliever. This just wasn’t the time to put him in. Let him start an inning. -

I am not blaming Rodon at all.
