Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
I was a Madrigal fan, but he makes Robert and Moncada, and Eloy look like Cal Ripken.

Dick Allen HOF
The coolest player ever. Everyone else looked like a dork wearing a helmet in the field. He looked cool.

Juan Soto to Mets. 15 years/765m
Just think, by halfway through next season, the Mets are contractually obligated to pay Soto more than any contract the White Sox have given out.

Bill Melton Passes Away
He was a great guy. My wife is a lawyer and they have to go these things for credit every year, so she went to sports law thing and Bill was speaking. A couple of years later we were at one of those Grinder's Bashes they used to hold. I went to the bathroom, and when I came back, Bill and my wife were talking. She told him what a great job he did giving his presentation, and he said he was really nervous because he was the only non lawyer in the room. Then I told him my story. I was a little guy. Mayonnaise disgusts me. When he went the last day for the HR title, after I ate my cereal, I stuck my face in a jar of mayo. It made me throw up and get to stay at home from school to watch the game. He batted leadoff to maximize his chances, and he did it.

Sox sign INF Nick Maton
Kind of weird you sign a minor league contract for a minor league team.

That was Don Cooper as well.

Andrew Benintendi on the trade market (duh)
He has never threatened to move. He said when he dies, his son may have to sell to outsiders because they may be worth more somewhere else. It won’t happen.

Non-Tender Day
The White Sox want a new park and they weren’t over .260 let alone .500.

LV Raiders are the White Sox of the NFL
I heard some call DePaul the White Sox of College Basketball.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Warren is an outsider who doesn’t understand how things work in Chicago. No way it gets built where they want it. Maybe down south, but is that better than Arlington? I have always thought it would be in AH. They own the land. They would own the building.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Robert was talking about the new approach they had him on last season. Frank Thomas heard it, and said it was nuts.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
You keep telling us how bad Thorpe is. Now you're saying it's better to have a guy like him, then gamble and hope Robert plays to his talent level, because if he doesn't, you wind up with nothing. I'm rolling the dice. Panicking with Cease cost the Sox. Hopefully, they learned a lesson.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Weak returns don't help you win. They have to hold out and hope he plays better. The only one getting burned is JR because he has to pay him. So I don't care.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Chris Getz sucks, but if I was him, I'm asking for the moon for Robert too. What is he supposed to do, ask for garbage? And if he can't trade him, and Robert gets hurt, so what, the team missed out on garbage. Either they get something good, or he plays and hopefully plays really well so someone will give up something for him. if not, let him go after next season.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
I'm calling him Roberts until he's elite again.

24-25 NFL Thread
He was out of bounds though. It's weird. They have a sideline camera, but can't use it for replay because it's not in every stadium. Why not just get the call right? Or just take it out.

The Yankees are getting $15 million to let the Rays play in their spring training facility this year.

Should Sox pursue Carson Kelly
All I’m saying is by 2026, framing will not matter anymore, as balls and strikes will not be called by humans. Of course that is probably around the time the Sox will master teaching it to their catchers.

Soxfest back for 2025
IDK, you do get to hobnob with Gus Varland.

Hitting Prospects
The biggest issue to me is almost everyone the bring up strikes out a ton and walks very little. I really thought Vaughn would be different. But that was wrong. Obviously, there has been a lack of talent, but there also seems to be a lack of development. And anyone they sign or trade for has the same issues as well.

Hitting Prospects
He was a good hitter for several years, but was he a smart hitter?
-
Hitting Prospects
When is the last time the Sox developed a player you would have no problem saying was a smart hitter? The weird thing is KW and RH at least used to be able to identify hitters, then for some reason, totally lost it. The early returns from Getz seem really poor.

Non-Tender Day
If the Sox don’t tender Sheets (I’ll believe it when I see it) someone will have to check on Schriffen. Losing Lopez and Sheets in a month, the guy will probably be curled up somewhere.
