  1. The Sox 3rd baseman is in his early 20s. The first baseman is in his mid 30s. If Vaughn can play 3rd, great, but he is going to be at 1st.
  2. I think you gave her sound advice. She shouldn't work for that moron. I hope she is Covid-free.
  3. I said it a couple of months ago, if you are willing to pick up money, improving your team will never be easier than it will be this winter.
  4. When the weather gets warm, this is just going to go away.
  5. This has to screw up analytics a bit as well, doesn't it, at least as far as projections for this year, and next.
  6. Makes you wonder how much time he would have missed if everything was normal.
  7. It could be Gio's fault. Let's face it, if Kopech comes back soon and Rodon is ready to go, Gio becomes trade bait again. Getting traded by a team 3 times before you ever play a game for them would probably be a record that is never broken.
  8. We can only hope. They did have 3 1/2 months to figure it out.
  9. If it's Covid, RH lied when he said he's healthy. I don't think he would blantantly lie. Attempt to deceive or hide facts, sure, but not an outright lie.
  10. It can go any way. Everyone points to the Nats record after 60 last year. Someone needs to be hot. A key injury is triple the pain. It should be fun, but a bad couple of weeks would be hard to recover from.
  11. But the guys that have a 1 or 2 or 3 year career don't make the league. The players who do are for the most part, unless they are being complete idiots, OK financially especially since they are only sacrificing 1/3 of a season. That's the point I'm making. Yes, you could probably field a league with Daniel Palka as the star, but it probably won't work. They have to get this testing in order or guys are going to start to walk and it will snowball.
  12. The White Sox have been one of the lowest patrolled teams the last several years. Who on their roster do you really think cannot go one year without being paid, especially when most have guaranteed money in the millions coming next year, and could easily get a loan if needed? A handful of Rookies, minor league fringe guys. That could be a problem. But for the most part guys even making minimum should be OK. It’s not like they were making $50k. It’s over half a million minimum plus licensing fees. They are only getting a third of what they would normally get anyway so the minimum are looking at less than $200k this season anyways. That is if they make it through the entire schedule.
  13. There is a bunch of them who do, but most who really make the league, do not. Hopefully they can get a decent grip on testing and keeping players safe or I wouldn’t be surprised if there are not enough top level guys to keep on going, All it takes is the right couple of players to get freaked and a lot will follow. And again, I wouldn’t blame anyone for opting out. Perhaps things can return to something more normal by spring training 2021. Right now they are playing with fire. I understand they had to give it a go, and they really don’t have the luxury of doing it like the NBA or NHL. The only other real option was spring training sites. But AZ in August is brutal. FL it rains a lot and is insanely hot and humid. And they have huge breakouts. I hope this works, but they are going to have to be really smart and really lucky for this to turn into anything but a hot mess.
  14. Someone supposedly has the Bubonic Plague in China. I wonder if that's next. We got hosed on the trade. They get Caulfield, we get Covid 19 and a Plague to be named later.
  15. Moncada obviously has it. They said he didn't have symptoms so that is good. Hopefully it stays that way. The good news is this ins't the NBA, he won't need as much wind to play baseball when he recovers if he has some sort of lingering effects. And hopefully this means he will have antibodies and be good the rest of the way.
  16. One of the greatest offenses in team history. Especially after they got Charles Johnson. They had an .800 + OPS at every position except CF.
  17. Rodon looks a bit bloated in the picture on the White Sox twitter feed.
  18. Don’t forget when he refused to wear a mask at the swab plant, they had to toss out all the swabs made that day.
  19. Summer hotspot by the lake. I have lived in the Chicago area my whole life and had never known The Michigan City area was a huge vacation place until about 10 years ago. A guy I worked with owned a place there he rented out. He had an ad on Craigslist and used Our department’s phone number. He had to get at least 20 calls a day. Up until then , the thing I knew Michigan City for was the snow belt
  20. It is nice to know Ricky had Eloy working on his bunting yesterday.
  21. Yes. Daryl VS had a picture of him this morning.
  22. Unless they kick the press out of the ballpark, It will be pretty obvious by the end of the day.
  23. According to the Sun Times.
  24. 2 White Sox have tested positive. I wonder if Moncada is one.
  25. I really don’t blame any player for opting out this season. There is no excuse flimsy enough to question it. There are a lot of players who really don’t need the money. if you had that kind of coin and where told you don’t have to work until next year if you were uncomfortable with the safety of the whole thing, I think many of us would opt out. I hope they get this “season” in. But they are going to have to get through a pretty difficult obstacle course to make it happen.
