It amazes me how many "leaders" actually look away from the science.

How many have committed suicide from being home for a month? How many OD'd because of this? It's nothing but a talking point. Blowing off social distancing would blow any of those death counts away. And those numbers would just get worse as well. Even while being stuck at home, it's blown it away. The plants will be open because that is what Tyson wants. It's not right for the workers. But Trump is playing to CEO's not for heath and safety, but for votes and cash. . Sickening.

Cleaning house also means none of these guys are married to any of the players. I think we will see at least one or two guys considered building blocks, moving along.

I think Trump made a big mistake lowering the expected death toll to 60k. He even mentioned 50k a couple of days ago. For his sake, he should have kept it where it was. Then if it is 60k, he looks about as good as a guy who previously said he shut it down and it wouldn't be a problem could look. It's clearly going over 60k, and by the time we actually go to the office, may be where they projected.

I got what I thought and probably was, the worst cold I ever had on Jan 31. Feb 1 I went to a basketball game and just felt out of it. The next day, I couldn’t get out of bed. I felt better a little better the next day and went to work, but as soon as I coughed, I was asked if I might want to work from home. I did the next day. Still had the cough for a while, and at times it was really hard to breathe. My wife then got it. She got better in a week but broke out with what looked like measles on her chest. At first she thought we had bed bugs. Today I read that about 1 in 5 have this kind of thing happen with their skin with Covid 19. Hopefully we had it, but I would think it’s doubtful.

You think about the amount of money the White Sox and every other team just pisses away every year on garbage signings. We are all numb to it. $2 million $4 million is nothing, but it probably covers a huge portion of the off field staff for many months. It’s pretty sad the industry isn’t prepared to pay some who probaby are lucky if they make $50k a year for the rest of the season.

It also depends what you are doing. Restaurants and bars, probably the hardest hit industry won’t be hiring everyone back. It’s going to be a while before they will need what they had before. Most people will still be leary of going back, and many who don’t seem to have a problem with actually blowing off social distancing etc. aren’t exactly the group you see dining out a few times a week. An outbreak because of an early restart will set this back even further.

I just don't see how people downplay this at all. It's not like a flu. It's not like auto accidents. There are 41,000 deaths with the world basically stopped. What would the total be if the world was not stopped? It should freak you out. People in large groups, or walking around without a mask should piss you off 1000 times more than someone lighting up a smoke in an airplane or restaurant and blowing smoke in your or your family's face. One time won't kill you. This might.

Deaths are up to 41k. The hope that it could top out at 60k is looking pretty unlikely. Especially if you see how many people are out and about in the nicer weather, and really very few taking precautions. I would say maybe 1 in 5 wearing masks. Social distancing isn’t what it was. We have to finish the job or all our suffering will be for naught.
