Sports is all about revenue from TV. They would much prefer to play games in empty stadiums than to probably not be able to re-schedule many of them.

To take anything away from veterans performances in spring training is crazy. He isn’t some young guy trying to make the team. He wants to be ready when the bell rings, not when the spring training games start. People fall for spring training stats every year.

It’s the downplaying it like even if you catch it, you’ll be fine. Larry Himes rebuild was similar, and shorter. They play a lot of bad teams so the record should be OK, but I still expect some growing pains with this team. I think if they played a balanced schedule .500 would be a good guess, but I would go better considering Detroit and KC are awful, Cleveland is having some injury concerns as their window is closing, and Minnesota is due for some regression offensively, and their pitching is suspect. Unlike previous years, even when they were all in, not everything will have to go right for a good year. If everything does, it could be like 1990 all over again, although in a different way. I think they win between 82 and 85 games.

They are strong at catcher without him. He is now a back up. I could see a point if you wanted to DH him against LHP, but with EE and Abreu, are you going to sit one of those guys against lefties for James McCann? Name me the last back up catcher who was the difference between their team being a playoff team and missing out? McCann, unless he is horrible this year won’t be back for 2021 anyway. He will look for a place to be the starting catcher. The Sox gave Grandal a boatload of money. He is going to get a heavy load of starts. The back up catcher isn’t a huge role right now like it was in the past when the Sox had no elite catchers.

A friend of mine played C at U of I. He was a 215 lb. LB his senior year in HS. He was a 285 lb. C starting his freshman year in Champaign. I can guarantee you he didn't do steroids. He is a huge human being with an abnormally large frame. They had him eating different and lifting his ass off.

It's the whole, he's overweight so there is no way he is not lazy tone. The guy has suffered two serious injuries and had another huge setback. Why make fun of him based on what someone on the internet claims?

If it makes you feel better. I just don't understand it. He was a better prospect. Got hurt, and got hurt again. Pretty traumatic for a guy just starting his professional career. Judging him without knowing any facts, just things you want to believe, is ridiculous. Frankly, I think White Sox fans should have nothing but compassion for the guy.

Always believe the rumors. Then poke fun at the guy. The funny thing is I would bet that he looks like the Rock next to some people making fat jokes at his expense.

Jake Burger has been through hell and back. I don't understand the fat jokes. He's supposed to be a really good guy. He is a White Sox. Maybe pull for him.
