Trump now claims his shutdown of China travel after 45 countries did before him, and over 400,000 people travelled from China to the US after the first case of Covid 19, and over 40,000 did after his total shutdown, has saved billions of lives.

I think everyone understands that and agrees with you, but rom a practical matter, anyone would have to wonder if it would work. If a player tests positive, is the entire team in quarantine? Does the league shutdown like the NBA? It isn’t like they would have time to make up a couple weeks of games. I hope they play. I disagree. Big Pharma has always put profits first. If it all was about the greater good, your insurance would be a lot cheaper. These are publicly traded companies whose concern is their shareholders. Making money isn't enough. You need to show growth and make more and more every year.
