Do you really think they would have made the tournament as often if they played a Big Ten schedule? -

It's not made up. There's one top 50 guy. Wieskamp. Garza was 111 and had 28 offers, and not exactly from the who's who of the final 4. The younger McCaffrey is the guy who is going to be a player as long as his body will let him. He had cancer in HS and it's still messing with his 6'9" 180 lb. body. Conor is more of an agitator He has some value. . -

They get a fee and an undisclosed share of the revenue from each ticket sold on Stubhub. -
Charges brought in White Sox ticket scheme
Dick Allen replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They should talk to each other considering they do have an agreement. But you are right, the Sox didn't really lose $1 million here. The people who probably lost most were other Stubhub sellers. And the Sox do get a percentage of the Stubhub price, which means they got money for comp tickets. The Sox made money on concessions and parking, so overall, it probably was a wash at worst. But still, slimy as can be. -

I played baseball with a guy who to this day is one of the greatest friends anyone could ever have. He used to throw helmets and bats and got suspended. The guy thought he should hit .900. Just because you act like an ass every now and then doesn't make you one. There are a lot of Jekyll and Hyde guys playing and coaching. -

He is actually one of the most decent human beings coaching Division 1 basketball. Squeaky clean recruiter. Very nice man off the court. Just is competitive as hell. There are a lot of guys like that. I was at the Loyola game Saturday night. I though Porter Moser was going to have an aneurysm about 15 times. -

His team is ranked in the top 20 despite playing without his prized freshman and what would have been his top 3 seniors. Bohanon hurt. Moss grad transfer to Kansas, and Tyler Cook wanted to play minor league basketball. He is one of the better coaches in the Big Ten. Funny Fran is a clown to Illinois fans when Lou Henson used to be a regular on Dick Vitales all crybaby team. -

Spring Training. I was never a fan of the 83 jerseys but the Nike lettering is so big, it makes them look like a Chinese knockoff. -

If you don't want them to dunk on you at the end, don't press. If you think Illinois is the better and tougher team, you might want to be worried they lost. -

But it should be no surprise. The same guys get hurt every year. To think it would suddenly stop would be unrealistic. The Bulls last 10 games of the year are tough overall. So they probably won't be playing for an 8 seed. I expect a couple more to go down then. They are pretty much screwed. Their roster will probably be almost the same except for the draft pick next year. -

The guy was just shocked he had any left. It really is unbelievable the Bulls just can't admit they were way off with this guy. -
Teams have way more leverage with the extensions Hahn has doled out. Many years from free agency, no guarantee of stardom, controlled, and a life changing contract. But kudos to him for taking advantage of that. There certainly are risks involved as well.
-
We will see. It will be different. It won't be wait 2 weeks, then you're good to go. It will be months. It should probably matter. 2 weeks in AAA isn't going to stunt anyone, but there comes a point when it does.
-
Of course it will. But I think they are going to have to keep guys on the farm maybe until August or September . As for the stragglers, whether they call Madrigal up the day his service time changes or a week later, they will be negotiating the new contract and know exactly what it was. If he comes up and sucks and gets sent back down, it will probably be ignored, but I bet the union is keeping their eye on guys getting manipulated now and will take care of them next deal. So holding Madrigal back for service time probably won't matter.
-
Right, but I bet the new CBA will address any straggler manipulations. Anyone who gets called up a day or two after their service time changes this season or next, will IMO, have it credited back. It's a loophole in the rules the players should have seen coming. They will use any loophole they can get. No one is ever going to be an expert on when a prospect is ready and when he is not. Some guys are ready to go, some need a little time. Some need no time. But calling someone up right after the magic day does indicate you are playing with the rules, and I think it will be addressed, and stopped now.
-
This move will certainly be eliminated next contract, and I doubt the guys who have had it happen to them will be "grandfathered" to have to be controlled the extra year. If Madrigal is ready, I bet he is on the opening day roster. They won't be able to play with service time now. Last year, they probably get away with it. But I would venture to guess moving forward, any manipulation will be addressed in the next CBA.
-
If he won, a huge can of worms would open up. Anyone who gets hot for a week or two could conceivably have a case. The only way to "fix" it is to change the service time rules, which I am sure will be done.
-
Yolmer is going to have a long career. He wants to start. But long term, that isn't in the cards. He can field multiple positions and is good in the clubhouse. He will be on major league rosters until he can't put up a .600 OPS.

Woj confirmed.

I think there is nothing wrong with Sox fans hating the Cubs and going out of their way to show it. For the longest time the thought was Sox fans were obsessed with the Cubs, Cubs fans didn’t care about the Sox. It was BS. Go to a Cubs/Mets game at Wrigley in the summer. Walk by the t shirt stands a block or two from Wrigley Field. You will see them well stocked with Sox Suck and the 83 logo with SUX t shirts, Since the Sox have rarely played meaningful baseball the past 50 years, a case can be made the Cubs are their biggest rivals. They do play them every year. They are in competition for the Chicago area casual baseball fan. Perhaps the pendulum can swing a bit now. If the Cubs don’t get on Comcast, it could really help the Sox if they start playing well. The Cubs have already priced themselves out of a lot of fans options. Not having them on the regular TV for a large portion of those same people could lead them south. As far as this picture. I thought it was pretty clever. Eloy and Cease being White Sox is a Cubs loss. All the more reason for an L flag.

Steve Stone Hinting At Another Move: Not Puig / Castellanos
Dick Allen replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Considering the regular LF and RF won’t be considered gold glove candidates it probably is a good idea to have a good glove on the bench. -
no one wants to waste a roster spot. Now there will probably be teams interested in a minor league deal. Maybe he will figure it isn't happening with the White Sox, maybe another team and coach has a better idea.
-
Since he has been outrighted previously, he still can refuse. I wonder what he will do.
