  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 12:03 PM) How do you redeem tickets from Stubhub to the White Sox? Print them out, and exchange at the box office.
  2. Anyone looking for a bargain, buy some $6 club level seats on stubhub. Even with the fees it's a steal, as any unused tickets for today's game can be exchanged for any other game except the Cubs.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 11:32 AM) I agree, but they’re still trying to avoid it. Of course, but at this stage, it is stupid. They already are going to have the thinnest of thin crowds since they changed the time, and everyone has a freebie anyway. It would really be a shame if some player got injured today due to conditions.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 11:24 AM) Trying to avoid doubleheader vs a team not in the division. Rays don’t come back. A DH on Wednesday shouldn't be too painful. The Sox travel to Minnesota, so hardly anything there, and Tampa is off on Thursday.
  5. If Trevor Bauer is worth $42 million a year, or more importantly, can find a team willing to pay him that, this theory should work out pretty well.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 10:31 AM) Moncada Garcia Abreu Delmonico Sanchez Anderson L. Garcia Saladino Narvaez That line up is so sad they will probably win.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 10:14 AM) The team is going to hit .175 until he makes he next post ripping the hitting. Wondering how Steverson keeps his job.
  8. Cubs pushed their game back an hour.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 09:30 AM) It's frustrating because I haven't seen him have it in a pro game. Last year I believe him on how the ball was different in majors and he lacked a feel for it, then he showed it in spring. Now I guess we blame the cold (sox pitchers seem to be only ones in league who were hurt by cold weather). But you saw how much it helped Fulmer to actually have it in his start. I don't know if the curve will be his out pitch, but starting a hitter off on that for 0-1 is a really nice weapon to set up his high 4-seam and low change-ups. I saw Giolito warming up during a game last year dropping wicked curveballs. They were dropping like a yo yo. Then when the game resumed, he didn't have it. It's there, hopefully they can get it to come out.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 09:35 AM) My friend had an extra ticket to the Cubs Brewers game on Saturday so I decided to go with him know there wouldn't be a delay, postponement, or watching in 20 degree weather. F***ing awesome watching a game comfortably when its like 20 degrees out. The final result sucked, however. The actual weather, and the anticipated weather really costs the White Sox big at the gate. Unless you are on a plan, who is going to pick April games to attend? If there was a roof, Family Sunday would have drawn pretty big numbers yesterday. 11k announced, probably less than 10 actually there.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 09:22 AM) If they do play I can't imagine more than like 4k are there. I'd take the under. The Cubs home opener at the same time, I have no idea who would actually look forward to attending the Sox game today. I love going. I have zero interest. If they play 2 on Wednesday, I will go for sure.
  12. QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 07:44 AM) Wouldn't mind if this game is just called and we get to the point where the weather is warming up tomorrow. Had enough of watching baseball in Bears weather. I'm actually thinking they moved this game up to cancel it sooner. There is no reason to play the Tampa Bay Rays today. Play 2 on Wednesday when it might actually be 50.
  13. Stanton became only the 3rd player since 1920 to fan 5 times in a game twice in a season.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 06:22 PM) Wouldn't surprise me if Rondon is the closer moving forward, he looked absolutely electric today. He could be this year’s Kahnle or Jenks. There are a lot of similarities with each. Ability to throw extreme gas. Has nice stuff. Like Kahnle, control and command a huge issue. Like Jenks, some past attitude issues, and girth.
  15. Funny thing is, Throw away opening day, Davisdon pretty much has Moncada’s numbers.
  16. Amazon has scammed America to only pay sales tax in 45 states. Trumps online site, whe they peddle made in China merchandise, pays sales tax in 2.
  17. It’s going to be a while. They will have their moments, but there is a lot of work to be done. Coop has a lot to fix. Strikes seem to be an issue right now with his youngsters. Their first verbally rssults hav not been that terrible, and inLope’ case quite good, but all those walks will bite you in the end, and need to be cleaned up. Davidson was due to come back to earth. It will be interesting to see if he is for real, if Yolmer, Leury, Engel are legit. I just think there are going to be stretches they will look like the worst team in baseball, and times the look like a playoff team. Unfortunately they looked pretty bad especially considering who they were playing, the last couple of days.
  18. Bad game. Amazing it was only 6-1. 12runners without gett8ng a hit. Yolmer botched an easy DP that cost a run and Giolito a ton of pitches, and a nearly non existent offense vs, pretty good pitcher. All in all a boring game for White Sox fans.
  19. I just took my dogs for a walk. It’s cold but should be OK in the sun. Hardly any wind. I would imagine in the park , in the sun it will feel close to 50. It will be one of those games no one will be sitting on the first base side once the shadows start covering those areas.
  20. Machado 2 Yankees 1. He also told the media, he is remaining a SS. He won’t move back to 3B even for the Yankees.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 10:17 AM) Anytime you get shutout it's terrible, and all you have to do is go back to 2015 when they lost 6-0 in their home opener One of my worst was 2007. Sox lost 12-5. Contreras' first pitch was deposited into the seats by Lillian's crush, Grady Sizemore. The entire season went downhill from there. Way worse than yesterday.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 10:16 AM) I get what you're saying but it's possible he didn't attend that one. He said he's been to 48, so I am guessing he didn't miss the first one in the new park with a team coming off a 95 win season adding a couple of big names.
  23. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 09:33 AM) 1)Yesterday was my 48th Opening Day. I've been to good games, and bad games on Opening Day. Yesterdays loss was easily the ugliest loss on Opening Day that I have attended. The bullpen blowing the game and the terrible defensive play by L. Garcia was really ugly. 2)When Hahn Traded Robertson, Jennings Kahnle and Swarzak last season he left the team with one of the worse bullpens in the history of the team. At best I thought he might improve the bullpen this off season. I think its fair to say that this bullpen has not been improved. 3) I can't help but wonder if the game plan with this team is to have another bad season which will result in another high draft choice and a even lower team payroll. The White Sox are 28th in payroll and it could probably in lower next year. 4) One of my major beefs against Rick Hahn is his signing players who are not any good and paying and wasting millions of dollars on them. LaRoche, Keppinger, Holland and now Soria were all acquired By Hahn. All of them didn't produce and were paid millions of dollars. 5) Attendance. It was certainly cold at the game yesterday and I'm sure it didn't make anybody come to the game as a walkup. Still to only have 33,000 at the home opener is not exactly anything to be happy about. Most Opening Day tickets are usually sold out weeks in advance. This tells me more and more people are not buying into this rebuild. Yesterdays crowd might be the biggest crowd of the year. 6) I see this so called rebuild going on for years. I wish that JR would sell the team. This is hysterical. This team isn't supposed to contend, how could it possibly be a bigger trainwreck than the 1991 home opener? Opening a new park. Optimism about winning a division, lose 16-0.
  24. A 23 year old Cuban playing in 35 degrees and snow. Not surprising it wasn’t going to be a stellar day for him.
  25. Moncada is clearly a bust. Rebuild is a bust. Team will probably move.
