For something that wasn't a real catastrophe, over a million people still being without power in Puerto Rico seems a bit odd, since the Trump team response was 10 out of 10.

Local teams protest latest tax in Chicago
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The other thing is, the more you pay to go to concerts, in theory, the less you have to spend on football games and baseball games, although it doesn't seem to be THAT big of a tax. But once they pass this tax, the next increased tax is for tickets to professional sporting events. The only benefit of this tax is more money to spend on absolutely nothing of consequence for Rahm, less money for everyone else. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 12:30 PM) Yikes. We're only two weeks away from Shameless returning. I hope it gets better. I thought last season sucked. It would be nice if they made a couple of the characters non losers.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 12:03 PM) http://dailycaller.com/2017/10/20/gold-sta...in-afghanistan/ Gold Star Widow of dead soldier releases video of her conversation with Trump. It seems like she is a black woman. I know people were saying Trump didn't call black families specifically. How amazing she is able to keep her composure though. Mother of 5. Seems like a tough lady. Since you brought up you believe she was a black woman, she is. Her husband was white.

You have to be lucky. Theo finished in second place for Anibel Sanchez and James Shields. They would still be looking for a championship had he been successful with those clowns. Sanchez was decent until the Cubs got good enough to contend, he has been awful since. Shields has been Shields.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 08:55 AM) So Lauri looked good, but last night I think I confronted for first time how bad our backcourt is at least until Lavine gets here. GarPax think Kris Dunn might even be better than Cam Payne. -
QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 09:12 PM) Really? Where did you find this? I'm not sure if I can do that now. Post 5. 5 Fridays and a Thursday.

QUOTE (champagne030 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 07:30 PM) Long time season ticket holders get the short stick. I have a full season so that stays the same, but my two other packages get the short stick. The weekday package get hosed the most....losing multiple prime games that go to the "Rivals". Weekend package now has 6 weekday games. Value package does look the best, but you lose all seniority privileges so you'll be sitting further back to change packages. Thanks Jerry That's part of it. The weekend package loses a lot of cheap Sunday games. I prefer day games. But it's still a bargain compared to other teams and if I don't like it, I can always say no. For the most part weekend attendance was pretty good this season. The only game that really shocked me was when they drew about 17k for the Buehrle bobblehead. They had some leftovers.

Trump denied saying the soldier knew what he was getting into to his widow. He had proof. Kelly confirmed Trump said it. Trump has the best words.

7 fewer games $15 less. 22% price increase per game for me.

QUOTE (champagne030 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) Just received noticed that season ticket packages are changing for 2018. I haven't see the games, but the two 27 game packages are gone. They'll still offer the weekend and weekday packages, but they'll be 20 games and they haven't released which 20 games. They are going to offer: 7 game package 2-40 game packages Full Season And the mentioned 2-20 game packages that will replace the old weekend/weekday packages. I am guessing pricing on the 20 game packages will be close to the same price we paid for 27.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 12:06 AM) Not trying to start a fight and I'll stifle if I'm wrong but Sox fans undervalued Robertson as they tend to do their own IMO at least. What happened was Rutherford was really overvalued. But he's young. Right now, he looks like a poor man's Ryan Sweeney to me. If the Yankees make it to the WS, Cashman deserves Exec of the year for this trade. Without it, I don't think they have a chance. The Sox got salary relief this year and next which could be huge when they need to add players, so that can't be discounted. But by pure talent, it was a one sided trade.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 11:28 AM) How does this even impact the White Sox and Bears? JR owns part of the United Center. The Bears? Who knows, maybe they get some sort of benefit from Soldier Field events. I guess it's like being part of a union. -
2017 Offseason White Sox News, Notes, and Tweets thread
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox are changing their season ticket plans this year. They used to have 3 27 game plans and a full season. Then it dropped to 2 27 game plans and full season option. Now they will offer 10,20,40 and full season packages. -
I am like Soxbadger, I have rarely used the health insurance. I am a huge total net loss when it comes to payout vs. service, but a couple of years ago, our HR department actually sent an email complaining that the employees were using the insurance too much and that rates were going to skyrocket.

The game cast on ESPN is about 1 pitch ahead of TBS on Direct TV. It was last night as well. I can amazed my friend with my clairvoyance.

This start might be be worth $15-20 million for Jake.

According to his aides, it was disgusting thing the press did shaming Trump to do what he said he would do. It's funny the fake news had to get him to donate to charity during the campaign. Had to point out things his people forgot on their security clearance forms, and had to remind him about this check. I am still amazed anyone sticks up for this guy. Also the WH says John Kelly hates how his son's death has been politicized. I think they are forgetting who politicized it.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 06:56 PM) The Raqqa campaign began shortly before the election last year so it definitely isn't a Trump era plan from the man who claimed to be smarter than all of the generals. Yes I read it was basically the same as when Obama was in office except a little less micromanaged which caused more civilian casualties. He didn't want anyone to know his plan. They would steal it and get full credit for its genius.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 05:59 PM) You realize they liberated Raqqa this week right? Yeah, he's great.

QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 05:14 PM) Via CNN, he sent the check today, after media pressure. It would be hilarious if it bounced.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 04:44 PM) Ten months into his Presidency and I'm still waiting to see Trump's 30-day plan to defeat ISIS. Did I somehow miss the big reveal? Or the name of the Chicago motorcycle cop who can stop the shooting in a month, week or day depending on who Trump was telling the story. He said he sent the name to Rahm but Rahm doesn't have it yet. It probably is in the same batch of mail the condolence letters to the families of the soldiers in Niger, and his $25k check are being sent. Fake news fake news. Every damn day the right tries to come up with a gotcha against the press. Yet they take no issue with the lies and other garbage coming out of their boy's mouth at record pace. The guy spoke at an anti gay convention. It barely even registered.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 03:04 PM) Trump offered a grieving military father $25,000 in a call, but didn’t follow through Trump thought of it as charity. Can pledge a lot, just doesn't have the time to follow it up. eta: shockingly, it turns out that "only President to do this" isn't even true: Obama Has Written Personal Checks To Struggling Americans.

In fake Trump news, he owns a Renior copy, thinks it's real, the only problem is the original has been in the Art Institute of Chicago since 1933.
