QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:50 PM) That would be like someone calling Trump very pro civil rights because he once said "all lives matter". Actions speak louder than words. He is not pro gay anything. He also never made fun of the reporter with a disability. He also said he would wipe out Puerto Rico's debt and do whatever it took. Now, a few days later, FEMA can't be there forever.

Trump said today he met with the president of the US Virgin Islands. He went to Wharton. He's like really smart.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) LOL. You realize that premiums were skyrocketing no matter who got elected because of Obamacare right? I also realized jobs had been created before Trump, the stock market rose before Trump and was trending higher when he took over, yet he has taken credit for all of it. So if you are going to take credit...... Besides the post you are responding to said if Dems and Republicans worked together, everyone, including Obama, said this needed fixing, but Trump is sabotaging it. It's like a spoled teenager who wants a new car and his parents say no. He ignores the oil light until the engine is destroyed and says, see I told you we needed a new car.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Why does it matter? No, she wouldn't. Even though she probably knew what he was all about when she did speak at his event like everyone else did. I was unaware that Trump was speaking at Weinstein's upcoming event. Once again you play dumb. Trump knows what this group thinks about homosexuals.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:26 PM) I said Trump was the first president in our history to take office and be in favor of gay marriage. That is true. If you're going to witch hunt people with guilt by association then literally all of DC is criminals, rapists, homophobic, etc. For instance, I am sure you would take exception to someone calling Michelle Obama a sexual abuser for speaking at an event sponsored by Harvey Weinstein. You know, the guy this thread was supposed to be about. Serious question, I will applaud if you answer honestly, do you really think Michelle Obama would even consider speaking at an event sponsored by Harvey had this already have come out? Basically, that IS what Trump is doing.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:08 PM) Alternate headline: "Trump will speak at event sponsored by Family Research Council" If Kellyanne ever decides to try something else, send them some of your work. You would have to be a quick favorite for the job.

New rule idea: Vertical safe zone
Dick Allen replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 11:55 AM) This nonsense of basic rules dont apply because it hurts my sensibilities is nuts. I am sure National fans are upset about the dropped 3rd strike rule at this moment as well. Here is a solution. Block or catch the ball. No, no vertical safe zone. Its simple. Stay on the bag. He wasn't pushed off the bag or prevented entry. He slid and popped up. Its no different than someone switching their feet and losing contact with the base and getting tagged. Keep a body part connected with the bag at all times and you are good. Lobaton took an aggressive secondary and paid the price for it. I agree. If you are off the base and you are tagged, you are out. Now they can look at it better. I thought replay was to get the call right. Yes it gets a little old waiting on replay when these things happen, but players can adapt. They have crazy slides to avoid tags. If it's OK to be off the base when you are tagged, why wouldn't the ball beat him so he's out also apply, and the neighborhood call on DP attempts. I'm still trying to figure out the dropped 3rd strike. As the rule is written he should have been out. Is that reviewable? Did Dusty not know the rule? If that was reviewable, IMO that is a fireable offense, especially since Dusty has no contract for next year anyway. -
Trump, the self proclaimed champion of gay rights, will be the first sitting President to speak at a gay hate group event. What a guy.

Birds of a feather: In 2004, in a discussion with The New York Times about the success of his show “The Apprentice,” Trump said: “Harvey Weinstein calls ― he’s a friend of mine; you know, he’s the head of Miramax ― and he says, ‘Donald, you know you’re the biggest star in Hollywood.’” And when you're a star......

QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 12:16 PM) Heyman is reporting that Holland will opt out and pursue free agency. Any chance the Sox are involved? He was pretty great to start the season and faded considerably late. The Sox track record with relievers lately coupled Herm's ability to keep everyone healthy could be appealing to him. Thoughts? No need except to flip. Not worth the gamble since he is going to get paid.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:06 AM) It sounds like a mixed bag. On one hand, it would allow people more options to buy insurance. The premiums would be lower, but the benefits would be less as well. The problem with that is that it would mean less people paying for Obamacare, which means the people that are still on it would have to pay more to make up the difference. Yes, it seems to me, the people who don't use the insurance, the young and healthy, will find other, cheaper plans, probably with less coverage. The people with existing conditions, will see their options dwindle, and costs rise.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 07:06 AM) Cool, we're going to give Puerto Rico another loan they can't afford and then bail, leaving the entire island to collapse in on itself. Trump warns Puerto Rico: ‘We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders . . . forever!’ In a visit to the island last week, Vice President Mike Pence vowed that the administration will be with Puerto Rico "every step of the way." "I say to all of you gathered here today to the people of Puerto Rico: We are with you, we stand with you, and we will be with you every single day until Puerto Rico is restored bigger and better than ever before," he said. Trump himself made a similar promise, saying in a Sept. 29 speech, "We will not rest, however, until the people of Puerto Rico are safe." He added, "These are great people. We want them to be safe and sound and secure. And we will be there every day until that happens." Why does this country waste money sending these guys over there if all they are going to do is lie?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 08:57 AM) Its kind of shocking he doesnt know how the economy works I don't think any level of Trump naivety is shocking. During the campaign, and for years, he was ripping Obamacare. He had no idea what it was. He said his employees didn't like it. They weren't on it. He doesn't seem to know the difference between health insurance and life insurance. What's shocking is someone like this can become POTUS, and fancy himself, and have millions believe he is a man of the people. He's for the little guy. He has screwed over the little guy time and time again during his "genius" business career. He profited stiffing people. He calls himself smart for not paying taxes. He says it was a smart great business deal when he uses laws not to pay small businesses and put them out of business. As long as he profits, it doesn't matter. And all those people in Alabama think it's great. They won't when they wake up one day and realize they are the ones that were had. But, hey, emails.

So the Indians choke a 3-1 lead in the WS and the next year blow a 2-0 lead in the division series. They may be more cursed than the Cubs.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 07:17 AM) Trump and Hannity disprespected the flag last night. Get ‘em the hell outa there! https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessin...ylvania-2017-10 They should have been fired on the spot.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 07:40 PM) Proof for the underlined? Relevance of the rest? If you can't substantiate your point don't just change the subject. The proof is all there. The quote from Trumps layer, the blanket statement from Ivana. . She even said she said he raped her. And their argument is you can't rape your wife. A guy gets accused of rape in a deposition by his wife. Has 14 other accusers. Is caught on a hot mike bragging about how he kissies women without their consent because he is a star and says you can even grab them by the p****, and you see nothing wrong due to the ® after his name. Youre more concerned about Bidens son dating his dead brothers widow, Anything Ivana says about Donald has to be cleared https://lawnewz.com/high-profile/donald-tru...lity-agreement/

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) I see the same quotes I already posted. That article didn't provide the quotes you're speaking of. It's in reference to a book that was published in 1993. This book was pulled by the publisher because, “The lawyers think it would be a very dangerous book for us to publish as is, and it would take legal readings, corrections, resetting, proofing and so forth. And so they don’t want to go ahead.” https://www.mhpbooks.com/out-of-print-trump...-repercussions/ I am sure it was a just a mere coincidence that a review of an out-of-print and was posted two weeks before the election by an author with a Twitter feed that is nearly entirely anti-Trump stuff. The same quotes and from Trumps lawyer. The book was written in 1993, so it wasn't written with the intent of keeping Trump out of the White House. Why didn't Trump sue when the book was originally published if it was all a lie? Besides Trump doesn't think rape, unless you are Mexican, is a big deal. He thought Mike Tyson should just pay a fine, not do time for his rape conviction.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 06:45 PM) Well if anyone wants to provide any quotes where she said he raped her in the literal sense I'd like to see it. All I can find is what I quoted. Where she said he treated her differently one night, she felt violated and endorsed him for president. She was going through a divorce where her and her husband were disputing BILLIONS of dollars of worth. It isn't uncommon for a divorcee to say something during a divorce to potentially affect the proceedings. Do you have her quotes under oath that you keep alluding to? All I've seen from her is what I quoted. It was in a book, and notice how Ivana has never denied saying it. The book was written in 1993, so it wasn't the left trying to get him. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/10/...-abuse-of-women

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 06:11 PM) I can only take the woman's word for what it is. I'll leave the confirmation bias for you. On the other hand, you could also point to that when that was said she was going through a divorce proceeding, was emotional and in a position to gain from the individual causing the emotional durress. 28 years later when the emotions are gone and the assets are settled, she characterizes it differently. If you are right, I wonder how many other rape victims have come out publicly to endorse their offender for President. She has to be the first. But if the shoe fits the desired narrative... Take her word for it. Under oath she said he raped her. And she could have changed the story a bit for her children or perhaps even compensated for her "clarification " So you are saying she lied under oath and is clearly telling the truth now to fit your narrative.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 05:45 PM) Here's her account. So under oath she said rape. 28 years later when he is running for President, the story changes a little bit.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) Rape =/= sexual assault. Ivana accused him of rape.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) That's a false equivalency. Trump was never accused of grabbing someone by their p****. If your mother-in-law was upset with your wife and said "I could kill her right now" would you report it as a murder? Probably not because words aren't actions. Actually he has been accused of groping, but hey, he's a republican, it's cool.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) Throwing the word rape around like commonplace to malign the character of your political opposition doesn't make it any better. We live in a culture where men are expected to make the first move. They're not a rapist when they read the situation wrong. Trump didn't drug anyone. Trump didn't make any insertions without consent. He didn't stick any objects you smoke into any orifices. He didn't drug anyone. He didn't promise a job. If what he's accused of is rape then I imagine the vast majority of our presidents are rapists. If someone came up to your girlfriend and grabbed her privates without her consent, would you consider it rape, or would it depend on the individuals place in society?
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) Trump didn't do that though... No, he just starts kissing them, and grabbing them by the p****. He can do it. He's a star.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:40 PM) He said he could grab them by the p****. It's hyperbole. It's wrong but it's hyperbole. I didn't know saying words, even in jest, makes guilty of whatever you said. I was watching the UFC press conference and all the fighters said "I am going to kill him" about their opponent. I had no idea they were all murderers. Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Bush: Whatever you want. Trump: Grab ’em by the p****. You can do anything.
