I wonder how many of the people at the RNC who were chanting lock her up when Christy was going through his BS, will actually wind up locked up themselves.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
NO COLLUSION! FAKE NEWS! In a footnote, the FBI statement notes that the email was forwarded between campaign officials and who wrote they should discuss: “We need someone to communicate that DT is not doing these trips. It should be someone low level in the campaign so as not to send any signal.”

2017-2018 NFL Thread
Trubisky also left for the draft early so he could have been starting this season, and a lot of guys have had 2 years under their belts. Although not a first round pick, Kurt Warner was a 3rd team QB at Northern Iowa until his senior year. Everyone is different. It's pretty easy to see Trubisky's talent. Whether he will reach his potential is a good question, but one that won't be answered for years, let alone 3 or 4 games.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) I was listening to Rush on the way in this morning. He seems really convinced that Hillary did a bunch of shady stuff that should get her thrown in jail. This could be the biggest news story we have ever seen. A lot of callers seemed very concerned. Could you imagine if this were Hillary's campaign people being indicted? It certainly wouldn't have been "years ago" and nothing to do with the campaign.

2017-2018 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 09:46 AM) Manning still threw 26 TDs that year. Talk to me when Trubisky a) has a multi-TD game and b) completes more than 50% of his passes, when 62% is the minimum acceptable level for modern NFL QBs. My argument is this: If this guy needs so much time, then maybe you shouldn't have wasted the 2nd overall pick on a guy who isn't going to be able to contribute until 2019. IMO, Deshaun Watson has the "it" factor. Trubisky doesn't. Watson has had a 5 TD game in his 3rd NFL start. (And, IIRC, he had a rushing TD in that game too) My complaint is that Trubisky was a blatant severe overdraft due to position. Watson was the only QB who was a 1st round talent and he probably shouldn't have been taken top 20. Trubisky and Mahomes were 2nd or 3rd rounders. They got overdrafted because of a need at a position. I hate drafting QBs who have only started one season since HS, because they almost always are epic busts. As a matter of fact, I challenge anybody to give me the name of a QB who started one season since HS, was drafted in the 1st round and wasn't an epic bust. They didn't draft him to win this year. Watson would have been a much better choice if it was about 2017. It's about 2018 and beyond. We will see what happens, but Watson wouldn't have the same numbers he has now if he was drafted by the Bears.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 09:37 AM) It really seems like some real change might be happening. I hope it continues. When Anita Hill came forward many years ago, there was some push, but it died down. Maybe because of social media these days, it will be different, and at least a few more bad actors will be exposed, but I think business as usual will return for most of these predators eventually. The assholes exposed are just the tip of the iceberg of offenders.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
There is a pretty decent divide in the Republican Party. 80% support Trump, so 1 in 5 don't. One thing that does unite them is Hillary. They all hate her. So when the heat is on, Trump tweets Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. It's like clockwork.

Is it still "commonly agreed" Trump's campaign didn't collude with Russia?

I'm sure they are both very fine people who didn't do anything wrong, much like Gen. Flynn. No reason to put "crooked" in front of their names.

Conspiracy against the US. That's Trump's campaign manager.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
It's commonly agreed Trump's campaign had nothing to do with colluding with Russia. Now, perhaps they should go after crooked Hillary's campaign chief's brother, you know she had to know what he was up to, even though perhaps the greatest mind of the past 10 generations had no clue what his campaign manager was up to. It's like health care being complicated. Who knew?

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 08:19 AM) There was an updated tweet that this surgery was to help save his leg. Really hoping for the best for him here. The injury was gruesome. He's most likely done playing football. Hopefully they can save the leg and he can live a normal life. Very scary.

QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 29, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Yep. He doesn't have the "It" factor. We have ourselves another Cutler. Sigh. The great ones, even as rookies, found ways to win games they shouldn't. Like Peyton Manning. Colts 3-13 his rookie year and he led the league in INTs. Oh that's not the IT factor but the INT factor. Excuse me. Judging a guy with 13 career college starts in his first few NFL games with a lackluster supporting cast is beyond insane.

QUOTE (Da_Goob @ Oct 29, 2017 -> 03:01 PM) On 3rd and 4th and 1 there should have been run plays. Absolutely no reason to pass both times there. Idiocy. I get that, and you are probably right, but when people complain they aren't throwing enough and then complain they are throwing, it sort of rubs me the wrong way. Again, I listened to OB and Hampton after the game. OB crying about you can't win with defense, and said the last time you could was 1963. Then he is complaining you need to throw more. Then they bring up these 2 calls and he's says, who would you throw the ball to? Nobody. Well, if you have 2 chances to complete a 1 yard pass when the opposition thinks you will run and you fail, what makes anyone think that they would have started completing passes had they run for the first down?

I used to go to 1 movie a month on average, but have been to 12 since I activated my moviepass a month and a half ago. I don't know if that is good or bad. I have seen 2 movies I really liked, 2 that I thought were at last entertain, and 8 that I considered horrible.

Our Next Manager?
QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) I'm borderline shocked people want to dump Ricky after one season. He did nothing this season that deserves a quick exit and the players quite clearly enjoy playing for him. Dumping him just because would be incredibly unprofessional. I agree. I am not a big Renteria managing fan, but he has done everything asked of him and then some. They play hard. If a bunt attemptcosts you in a meaningful game, then you have a case. The White Sox did pursue Leyland when Bevington was managing. But that was Bevengton. On his worst day, Renteria is not Bevington.
