ALDS: Yankees vs. Indians
So the Indians choke a 3-1 lead in the WS and the next year blow a 2-0 lead in the division series. They may be more cursed than the Cubs.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 07:40 PM) Proof for the underlined? Relevance of the rest? If you can't substantiate your point don't just change the subject. The proof is all there. The quote from Trumps layer, the blanket statement from Ivana. . She even said she said he raped her. And their argument is you can't rape your wife. A guy gets accused of rape in a deposition by his wife. Has 14 other accusers. Is caught on a hot mike bragging about how he kissies women without their consent because he is a star and says you can even grab them by the p****, and you see nothing wrong due to the ® after his name. Youre more concerned about Bidens son dating his dead brothers widow, Anything Ivana says about Donald has to be cleared https://lawnewz.com/high-profile/donald-tru...lity-agreement/

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) I see the same quotes I already posted. That article didn't provide the quotes you're speaking of. It's in reference to a book that was published in 1993. This book was pulled by the publisher because, “The lawyers think it would be a very dangerous book for us to publish as is, and it would take legal readings, corrections, resetting, proofing and so forth. And so they don’t want to go ahead.” https://www.mhpbooks.com/out-of-print-trump...-repercussions/ I am sure it was a just a mere coincidence that a review of an out-of-print and was posted two weeks before the election by an author with a Twitter feed that is nearly entirely anti-Trump stuff. The same quotes and from Trumps lawyer. The book was written in 1993, so it wasn't written with the intent of keeping Trump out of the White House. Why didn't Trump sue when the book was originally published if it was all a lie? Besides Trump doesn't think rape, unless you are Mexican, is a big deal. He thought Mike Tyson should just pay a fine, not do time for his rape conviction.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 06:45 PM) Well if anyone wants to provide any quotes where she said he raped her in the literal sense I'd like to see it. All I can find is what I quoted. Where she said he treated her differently one night, she felt violated and endorsed him for president. She was going through a divorce where her and her husband were disputing BILLIONS of dollars of worth. It isn't uncommon for a divorcee to say something during a divorce to potentially affect the proceedings. Do you have her quotes under oath that you keep alluding to? All I've seen from her is what I quoted. It was in a book, and notice how Ivana has never denied saying it. The book was written in 1993, so it wasn't the left trying to get him. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/10/...-abuse-of-women

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 06:11 PM) I can only take the woman's word for what it is. I'll leave the confirmation bias for you. On the other hand, you could also point to that when that was said she was going through a divorce proceeding, was emotional and in a position to gain from the individual causing the emotional durress. 28 years later when the emotions are gone and the assets are settled, she characterizes it differently. If you are right, I wonder how many other rape victims have come out publicly to endorse their offender for President. She has to be the first. But if the shoe fits the desired narrative... Take her word for it. Under oath she said he raped her. And she could have changed the story a bit for her children or perhaps even compensated for her "clarification " So you are saying she lied under oath and is clearly telling the truth now to fit your narrative.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 05:45 PM) Here's her account. So under oath she said rape. 28 years later when he is running for President, the story changes a little bit.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) That's a false equivalency. Trump was never accused of grabbing someone by their p****. If your mother-in-law was upset with your wife and said "I could kill her right now" would you report it as a murder? Probably not because words aren't actions. Actually he has been accused of groping, but hey, he's a republican, it's cool.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) Throwing the word rape around like commonplace to malign the character of your political opposition doesn't make it any better. We live in a culture where men are expected to make the first move. They're not a rapist when they read the situation wrong. Trump didn't drug anyone. Trump didn't make any insertions without consent. He didn't stick any objects you smoke into any orifices. He didn't drug anyone. He didn't promise a job. If what he's accused of is rape then I imagine the vast majority of our presidents are rapists. If someone came up to your girlfriend and grabbed her privates without her consent, would you consider it rape, or would it depend on the individuals place in society?

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) Trump didn't do that though... No, he just starts kissing them, and grabbing them by the p****. He can do it. He's a star.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:40 PM) He said he could grab them by the p****. It's hyperbole. It's wrong but it's hyperbole. I didn't know saying words, even in jest, makes guilty of whatever you said. I was watching the UFC press conference and all the fighters said "I am going to kill him" about their opponent. I had no idea they were all murderers. Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Bush: Whatever you want. Trump: Grab ’em by the p****. You can do anything.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) They said they would sue him. So far nothing. Once Trump won the election he stopped being referred to as a rapist. If you guys really believe he is a rapist I am curious why you just let it go so quickly? Rape is no joke to me. Not "insult of the month" type territory. It's in its own special category. Also, my friend was talking to a girl and thought she liked him and he tried to kiss her. He read the situation wrong. She shut him down because she was still kind of with her boyfriend so she didn't want to be kissed by another. Is my friend a rapist now... So Trump was lying when he said he grabs women by the p****, because when you are a star they let you do it? And a lot of stuff about Harvey was from over 20 years ago. It doesn't make it any less disgusting. They use their position to exploit women. And no your friend isn't. Talk about something not being the same thing. If he wouldn't let it go and grabbed her by the p****, or whipped it out and beat off into a potted plant, or drugged her and had his way with her, or used his professional position and told her he could make her career either a lot better or a lot worse for her, then yes, he would be doing wrong.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:28 PM) I do remember a man who has been in the public light, for what? 40 years? getting a barrage of accusations against him in the weeks/months leading up to the election. Has Trump made women uncomfortable with his advances? I am sure. Has he drugged any of them? Has he traded sexual favors for influence? Has he been charged with anything? Has he been charged criminally? Have the efforts of celebrity lawyers led to anything? Was the timing of the accusers in any way curious? I am not going to sit here and continue to defend Trump but sometimes I want to pull you guys back into reality. What Trump was accused of is not the same as what Ailes/Cosby/Weinstein did. It's that simple. He said he grab women by the p**** because he is a star. No it's not drugging them, but it using his power to take advantage of women. He said it. It isn't an accusation.

Red Sox dismiss John Farrell
These days, you win games with home runs and pitching. They have a really nice looking line up, but they don't hit enough HRs. Their staff looks decent, but with Price getting hurt, that really hurt them. Having to go with Fister in a playoff elimination game shows they were a bit short.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 02:01 PM) I am not really sure of what happened with O'Reilly but comparing the victims of the men listed with Trump's p**** comment is really messed up. People suffered because of Ailes, Cosby, Weinstein and perhaps O'Reilly as well. Trump's words, while crude, didn't create any victims. There are 14 accusers I believe. Maybe they are full of s***, but when a guy is taped saying he grabs them by the p**** because he is a star and can, it's pretty decent evidence against him. Trump did say he would sue all of his accusers. So far nothing.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 01:57 PM) What exactly did Trump do that politicized this? Calling a scumbag a scumbag isn't political but in all seriousness, I haven't seen Trump's comments so I am curious what you're alluding to. You seem to be making it political in any case - mentioning Ailes, Oreilly. An initial response to this thread was posting a list of GOP politicians as enablers. The relevance? No clue. Weinstein being a mega donor of the DNC, a frequent guest of the WH during Obama/Clinton administrations and a "good friend and wonderful human being" to Michelle Obama is what politicized this. The fact that Weinstein was famous, influential, and politically involved is what makes this political. I can't believe a serial sexual abuser gets exposed the response is still all about Trump. The late night hosts first ignored this and then when they were called out all of their Weinstein jokes were made with comparison to Trump. I am trying to remember if Jimmy Kimmel or Colbert made the jokes based around Obama when Cosby and the Penn St. thing happened. Or when Rob Ford got caught smoking crack did they make a bunch of jokes of Obama's coke use in college? Probably not. Everything is about Trump all the time. He probably loves it but it's getting very old. This isn't about Trump. This is about a political person even if it is just a side point. Regardless, I don't see anyone saying only "democrats sexual abuse" nor do I see a reason for you or anyone to defend your "team" based off of one deviant's behavior. Harvey Weinstein supposedly represents all democrats. Besides, Weinstein worked for a private company. Trump is the President of the United States. It's a bit different. And show me where I defended my "team"? And Trump is mentioned because Trump commented on it. And Obama using coke was used, as was his smoking habit. I will agree everthing about Trump is getting old. It's time your "team" did something about it.

The Sexual Assault problem
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) Rose McGowan is being heroic in all this on Twitter. Ben Affleck tweeted some expression of horror at Weinstein and McGowan lashed out at Affleck saying he knew what Harvey was doing. This story is very sad and horrible; just like the Cosby story. People in power abuse people in all different ways. Sexually is probably worse, but I would imagine almost everyone has had some sort of "boss" at some point in their life who treated them like crap because they could. Affleck is more than likely a phony with his outrage. Weinstein is far from the only one in Hollywood. They are all over the place, and it has nothing to do with political party affiliation. The fact that Trump who grabs them by the p**** because he is a "star", and his buddies Ailes and O'Reilly , very fine people, wants to make this poitical is pretty hysterical. Democrats do it. Republicans do it. Independents do it.

2017-2018 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 02:58 PM) I don't think Trubisky is the guy, but that is beside the point. The point is that I think that Football is a mortally wounded sport. Because of that we don't have time to wait to see if Trubisky is or isn't the guy. We should just enjoy the sport as long as it exists, if we like it. That is all. Yes, I do think that by 2035 football will be cancelled. Right now he's not the guy. He isn't going to lead this particular team to the playoffs, but he obviously has a lot of potential. Give him some experience and some decent receivers, and he might be a star. Except for maybe Cutler, I don't think the Bears have ever had a more talented guy at QB. Hopefully he develops. The guy only started 13 games in college. To think he will get anything but better is crazy IMO.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 10, 2017 -> 02:22 PM) What if it's a monetary penalty though? I doubt that would hold up in court. What if half the team did it? Would he forfeit? 75 year old billionaires like the idea of a sharply reduced tax rate, no inheritance tax. Once that clears, you'll see guys like Jerry changing their tunes a bit on social issues.
