https://www.moviepass.com/ This is legit. $9.99 a month. You can see one movie per day. Can't see the same one twice. The only problem is you need to be within 100 yards of the theater to get the ticket. I have used it 3 times so far without a problem. They send you a debit card which they load up, when you use their app to tell them what show you want, and you go buy your ticket with that. No 3D or Imax either, and every theater may not be involved, but most near me are.

Jose Abreu with 1st Sox cycle in 17 years
Dick Allen replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's amazing it's only the 6th cycle in team history. The other amazing thing was last week when the Sox went back to back to start the game, it was only the 3rd time ever they did that. -

As to Melky, a Melky fan wanted him back. I was anticipating Hahn shutting the door, but he did say it was possible, mentioned his popularity and thought he could be a good guy for young players to learn from, even though he later said it may not be a fit. I think it would require a real team friendly deal. If Melky got a legit offer elsewhere, they aren't going to match it from the sounds of it. The Sox will get a boon to their September attendance next year as the Cubs visit Sept 21-23. -
Yesterday the Sox, Cubs and Bears were playing home games at the same time. I wonder how many times that has happened.

It doesn't appear Kevin White's body is cut out for the NFL.

They were doing a live shot in downtown Miami this morning and a couple of clowns rode by on bikes. They had the wind at their backs. I wonder if the morons made it back or if they had another spot to go west.

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Sep 10, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) This team can't do anything right. We can't even lose the right games? Always get out tanked by the smarter teams. Not a chance Fulmer is anywhere near this good. What did the Sox do that was dumb? How were they outsmarted? They benched their best pitcher for draft purposes for crying out loud.

The league has figured out Jose Abreu.

My totally biased review of Giolito's performance tonight
Dick Allen replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I read an article that mentioned the umpire missed 11 pitches his last start. That can't happen. It is amazing there wasn't more damage, -
QUOTE (GermanSock @ Sep 10, 2017 -> 07:31 AM) Problem is that he chases a lot, 35% outside the zone swing rate. He needs to lower that number preferably to under 30%. It was a miracle Davidson got to this level of production. It would take even a bigger one for him to be a key player on a contending team.

Samardzija is Javy Vazquez Jr. Advanced stats love them but it doesn't translate in reality. Wastes of money.

Carlos Rodon to the DL, will not pitch again in 2017

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2017 -> 12:33 PM) The last time that Rodon had a no big deal injury he missed 3 months. He's about to have a little more than that off anyway. -
They will have an entire season of playing next year, and will make the decisions themselves. There will be plenty of ABs to go around, and the suspects are all pretty much of the age it's either produce or find another job.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2017 -> 09:55 AM) So it is your belief that Carlos Rodon has done nothing but "watched television" since his last time out? He certainly hasn't opened it up much or he wouldn't have even bothered warming up. This was a last second thing. Just remember how extra cautious the White Sox have been with injuries this season. If there was any hint of anything being wrong with Rodon prior to 20 minutes before last night's game, he wouldn't have even tried warming up. But the proof will be in the pudding. You will hear the MRI came up with nothing structural, but Rodon will be shelved for the time being. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2017 -> 09:15 AM) How on Earth does that logic work? He wasn't hurt last time so he can't have something new or worse now? If there was something wrong, I would guess, and I know none of us know like you do, that something would have reared its ugly head when he was throwing 98 MPH rather than just hurting himself since. He mentioned how good his arm felt AFTER he last pitched. Totally illogical to you I guess. But I come from the position that pitchers generally hurt their arms pitching, not watching television. Pitchers pitch sore all the time. If 100% was required for pitchers to pitch, baseball would become t-ball by June. But there is no reason for Rodon to push it at this time. -

I am not too worried about this. He was fine when he last pitched. I bet if the Sox were battling for something he pitches last night. e. Shut him down and continue your quest for the highest draft pick. They will give him an MRI, but I think that is more for appearances sake than anything else. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 02:43 PM) Rosters are going to be raided if players are available to play right away. Its not good for anyone but a handful of schools. It already is for the one and dones. There are about 5 schools that get them. Occasionally there is a straggler, but not many. But I agree, there would be so much movement, and it wouldn't help most programs. It would be like NBA super team formations on steroids, and there would be so much back door recruitment, it would be sick. -
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Is Saladino still a guy who is in contention for a major league spot after this season? Offensively he's been utterly atrocious since April. I was thinking about this last night. I wonder if his back is 100%. Obviously he has nothing at the plate. Nothing at all. Even defensively, he's made some really nice plays, and is so sound fundamentally ( I admire his practicing backhanded flips before games) but he has booted a few this year he normally has no problem with.

Hahn said yesterday they are entering the hardest part of the rebuild. Development. There is going to be a lot of failure, hopefully most will overcome it and become great players, but they aren't kidding themselves about several of these guys not being what they hoped. Anderson is in that group, but a lot of times, you have to be bad before you are good. Patience is key. There is a good chance Giolitto and Lopez do some sucking next year, and if Kopech comes up...not everyone is Chris Sale or Frank Thomas. From what I heard about Anderson, it's very encouraging. He knows the mistakes he's making both at the plate and in the field, and wants to clean them up. He's not a guy whose head is in the clouds and thinks he can just stay where he is at and everything will change. It takes time.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 02:33 PM) I really think we're gonna struggle to find playing time for the borderline guys next year, especially in the OF. Right now, you have Delmonico, Garcia, Garcia, Garcia, Engel, Cordell, and Liriano playing for 3 spots and a DH. There are also guys like Jimenez and Polo who may very well be here by the end of 2018. Even after an Avi trade, I don't see how the Lirianos and Willy Garcias of the world get a fair look- especially if the organization is still so in love with Engel in center. It all sorts itself out every time.
-
These guys can all play next year, but all of them will have to improve in order for them to be regulars on a team the White Sox will sell as a contender. Engel will have to hit a bit. Leury is going to have to become a bit more baseball savvy. Hanson.....he just isn't a championship calibur player.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 7, 2017 -> 01:38 PM) We're within the window where the models get pretty accurate. This looks extremely bad for southern Florida. It looks bad for the entire state. It's looks like it will be blown to smithereens.
