  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 10, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) McNeil to co-host a morning show on 97.1 The Drive. How long until his first sabbatical? Interesting choice, going away from sports. Could be a good job as it is probably easier than have to talk spots for four hours.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 10, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) Oh come on, there's no way Boston or the Cardinals could top Wood, Castillo and mid-level prospects The cubs issue will be the holes left after the youth is traded. The Cardinals and Red Sox have youth to trade with a good MLB team. The cubs need to hit on all of these guys for their rebuild to work.
  3. So the Chicago radio scene has the cub coming in second in the James Shields sweepstakes and the cubs getting Hammels for a couple of good not top 100 prospects.

Rewatched all of Breaking Bad over the last couple of weeks. I actually found it to be a better show the second time through as things made more sense and I was not caught up in crap like who will die, will Walt get away with it, will Walt ever be able to keep his money. Why do they keep doing this?
  7. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) You guys are majorly underestimating Schwarber. Kid has a better-than-usual chance of being a 30+ HR hitter. I wish people would realize that everyone is trying to sell something and with that there will be a bias toward the teams that have rabid fan bases. The Astros and Twins have a better stock of prospects than the cubs in totality. Years ago this was the Yankees, every year the Yankees would trade their blue chip guy and more times than not they did not pan out.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) Apparently beheading wasn't getting these guys off anymore. They put the Jordanian pilot in a cage with accelerant on him, then lead a long trail of the stuff. They lit it on fire so he slowly watched the flames approach him until he was burned alive. Sick bastards In response, Jordan plans on executing the female terrorist prisoner that had set to be exchanged for the pilot. They should do it the same way. I know that is a knee jerk reaction.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 07:20 AM) Mike North will be back before Murph. Murph is on ESPN radio on Saturday morning with Fred Hubner. What Fred Hubner had to do to remain his sidekick is beyond me.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 12:58 PM) How much of that is because the players think that they don't have to play hard, an idea that has been drilled into them because of management stepping into the territory and pushing an agenda? All that said, I think someone said that Nick Friedell indicated the players were on the side of management. Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, and Joakim Noah all saw their careers soar to new levels with Thibbs. I can't buy for one minute that they would be on the side of management in these situations. These guys love Thibbs. I also kind of think Rose does, although I could see him also siding with management. Gasol probably would side with management. Bottom line, given the players who would side with Thibbs, I think at a minimum you are talking a split and as long as Thibbs has Noah / Taj / Butler on his side that should help (and really no reason Rose shouldn't be at least comfortable with him). I think it is more the whispers that drove the wedge early and the team is slowly realizing Thibbs is right. This is part of why I'd like Deng back. He'd add another extremely calming force to the lockeroom who would back Thibbs and shut things up. Worst thing in all of this is, if it is so bad, the GM needs to fix things because it is clearly impacting the team and the success. End of the day, winning is most important and Gar has his ego in the way. Its his ego that started this whole thing. Thibbs just wants to coach so of all coaches, he's probably the one guy that can grind through something like this, but it is still pure crap. Rose's trainer (now the Bulls trainer) seems to be working with management and pushing the agenda.
  11. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 11:14 AM) that is my question. i only heard 1 time of a prob, but that was between Forman and Thib's several yr ago i think. i don't know of anything, other than what is said in the newspaper. The thing is every reporter is talking about it and they are choosing sides. This is not one or two people trying to create a story.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 08:09 AM) Why are the players hating on Thibs? Do they think he pushes them way too hard?? Yes
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 05:50 AM) I wish this was totally a Cowley production, but KC Johnson has said there is a big disconnect, a lot of tension and he wouldn't be surprised if Thibs is coaching elsewhere next season. Nick Friedell on WMVP yesterday said the same thing. This is becoming the locker-room story and it is becoming the front office and players v Thibs and the fans
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) Quietly I was hoping that Warriors vs. Bulls game was a preview of the NBA finals. so does the NBA
  15. 77 everything goes wrong 84 seems good to me 90 about as high as they can get and things go right
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) He is becoming the Joe Cowley of the Bears. Like cowley was fed all of the Sox info from the Guillen family and only took their side. He is the mouthpiece for someone in the Bears organization and will scream his views. He continues to rip Trestman and the Ravens apart to make the Bears look good. He really started it when Trestman showed up the Bears by announcing the benching of Cutler. It's a shame to because at one time he was one of the funniest and entertaining personalities on the radio. His Saturday morning show was absolutely hilarious. His love affair with all things Theo is getting good. Fans are morons for thinking somehow the cubs screwed up the bleacher repair. His little sidekick is right there with him.
  17. Would like a Lindstrom minor league deal as well.
  18. Pittsburgh, Detroit, St Louis, Baltimore and the cubs are just a few that would have to jump on that deal.
  19. Wonder what happened to the Tampa/cub tampering accusations?
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) Still, he is the head coach and the buck stops with him. Suspend him for the Super Bowl. The Patriots will never have that problem again. Did the NFL ever prove that Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis knew about the bounty program?
  21. so after next season either Gase is gone (HC) or Cutler is gone, because offense failed That is why I think they were looking at Weiss. We do not have to eat or hang out with Weiss, there is no doubting his ability as an OC. Head coach he sucks but OC is a position he thrives in. He is not a leader of men but he is a damn good OC.
  22. Outside of the playoffs has the Bulls stretch of opponents seem to have been much rougher the last three weeks than in recent memory. The East has gotten much better this year and you are seeing much more quality opponents. The Cavs, Hawks, and Wiz off the top of my head are much better.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) Do we know that definitively? http://deadspin.com/report-nfl-was-aware-o...dium=socialflow The NFL knew about this issue with the Pats well before Sunday's game. At least in that article, it's not clear whether all of the balls were gone by halftime or not. The balls were not gone, they were used the whole game. The NFL was alerted of the issue which is why the balls were taken after the game. In the normal course of events the balls are taken by the teams after the game. In regard to the officials, during he course of the game it is not something they will check. As teams are hurrying to get plays off, how would you think if there was an unfounded delay for the checking and rechecking of he balls. This is unchartered territory and the reality is the officials are going to put their faith in the teams and ball boys to do the right thing. Teams may want to see how Gase does without Manning. What better way to see than to work with Cutler. Gase or Cutler will be selling cars in two years.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) Full schedule http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/commun...07866-770536933 I'd be interested to know if other teams bring in minor leaguers for their fan fests. That was all the cub fest was the last three years.....well that Kerry Wood and Bob and Len singing.
