  1. Didn't Wise have a nice series in the playoffs in 2008?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Do you trust him to hit Guthrie, Santana, Haren, Weaver, McAllister, Kluber and Masterson? At this point in time Wise brings a whole lot more to the table than Viciedo. Wise is not the better player but time is limited here.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) Alexei and Viciedo just flat out sucked tonight. Manto has some work to do with both guys, as there were obvious mechanical flaws with each tonight. Can not work with players that have no ability to adjust their swing or approach and neither have shown that they can do either, they are what they are.
  4. De Aza is a fine centerfielder Viciedo I am not sure about I know he is young but two hitters that you rely on to drive in runs, he and Ramirez, that give away at-bats via stupidity will hurt this team in the long run.
  5. Just got caught up on the game via DVR. The 4th inning by Viciedo and Ramirez was god awful. This is sad to watch as the Sox may be shut out tonight and tomorrow.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) I love the Hawk, I get how he would be annoying to others and sometimes he over uses his hawkisms but I get a chuckle every now and then during his PBP, he is a very funny guy...some of his lines have rubbed off on me, my brother plays baseball in an amatuer league and I'll be in the stands and when an opposing hitter hits a line drive down the foul line and I'll yell out "get foul, it will, thank you!" or when someone strikes out I'll say "he gone!" Stay Fair Get Foul Two underappreciated Hawkisms. I use them all of the time. Hawk is getting old and it is kind of sad but he is still entertaining.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) Sort of. For season ticket holders, the money goes to the 2013 deposit for that year's plan. So they do indeed get a long float on that money from their season ticket holders, both for their regular seats/tickets, and all these pre-sales. And if you don't buy the post-season seats, in advance, you lose your slot for 2013 and would have to start all over in terms of seniority and seat location. I do not think you lose your seats for 2013 if yo udo nto buy playoff but i could be wrong. Anyway I just went back in and 3 lower deck reserved seats section 109. $840, covers next year's seven game plan already.
  8. If you put on a credit card today and your billing cycle is 30 days, there is not interest on this to you. How much interest do you get on cash? NONE. I am sure the White Sox are not goign ot take this money and invest it for 14 days, that is how long they will be holding it. What process would you like them to use?
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) It actually is impossible. If you are a Wild Card and win the WC game, you then do not have home field advantage for the Division Series and thus can only play two home games. Only way to play three home games in Division Series is to be a division winner with one of the two best records, in which case you aren't playing in the WC game. Your money is fully refunded back to your credit card so you are not out of pocket. The Sox are covering the basis to allow everyone to have the tickets they need when they need them.
  10. Sure there are not many folks in Miami that would be offended by this.....first cuba and now the gay community......oh Ozzie
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) Miguel Cabrera has a .797 SLG and a 1.223 OPS in September. I know Mike Trout is getting love for the MVP, but Miguel would get my vote right now. Guy may win the triple crown there really should not be that much of a debate.
  12. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:30 AM) He read it wrong. However, he has to pay for 4 games when he buys. The wildcard game, and all 3 ALDS. So, its going to be a big knock on his card. He is buying...I am going. Today is strips. You buy one seat to every wildcard and division game. These are not individual game seats.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) Anybody in the area and want to go to the game? I'm tempted cause the weather is good, there will be no fans there and the Sox are due to finally play better against KC you would think. Don't take this the wrong way as I know you get a lot of s*** around here but as big as a White Sox fan as you are, how are you even debating this? We in Chicago can put off going to games but your time in this season is limited. Get your ass out there. Everyone in game thread owes me if greg does to in fact go.
  14. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 10:58 PM) False. No, what are you expecting?? A parade?? Riots?? He is actually right. There is some coverage but it is overshadowed but the inconsistency of the team and the fact the Bears were slated for the Super Bowl after week one. If the Sox keep winning they will get some press but right now I think it is kind of what it is.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Is that right? Wow. Does Marist run all those five-receiver sets and throw 40 times a game? I did not know that. Yes as does Loyola now. St Xavier began running this a few years back and are very successful with it, won the NAIA national championship. The Rice coach is from there, as well as a Rice alum
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) Mother Nature, thank you for last Thursday! the old 1970's slogan Mother Nature Shines on the Chicago White Sox... All of Leyland's cigarette smoke must upset her not sure what Eric Wedge did
  17. Have we not given Thornton enough 9th inning opportunities I know he was successful the other day but this usually does not end well. Hope I ma dead wrong.
  18. beckham did nothing wrong there to say he did is wrong that is all stupidity on the bases again by wise
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) WTF just happened for us on gamecast runners tagged on flyball Wise out at third before beckham scored wise had no reason to go
  20. They need to think about pinch running for Wise late in games he is the epitome of baseball stupid. He did the same type of thing in the Seattle game. He has no concept of what a sacrifice fly is.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) Leaves Reed with Thornton as the emergency backup option in the 9th? Neither warm my heart too much. I'd rather see Crain with Myers in the wings. A long 45 minutes coming up here.
  22. The negative asshole that I am goes back to last week and not using Veal. Let's get some runs.
  23. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) with how he's throwing I think I would have too. We'll see if it plays out well... RV in a no win situation there really. Go with the odds here.
  24. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) the real fail of that inning was Wise being up 2-0 and then striking out, Dunn is probably not healthy so he'll be awful the rest of the year also, i'm pretty sure half of the Tigers roster are fat and overweight, they really look physically undisciplined which might explain their awful defense, just completely undisciplined seemed healthy over the weekend Who scored our 4th and 5th runs this game, I forget? Would like the RISP hitting to be better let's just hang in there for 9 more outs. The Sox are coming back to earth on that stat.
