QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 04:13 PM) That would be teh awesome, to have him back for the DET game or earlier. I love me some Dweezy, but him hitting 3rd is just craziness. Wise hitting ninth sounds good to me.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Lame. I would be content if I could just go to another game, when it is convenient for me. They will probably do that.

GAME. THREAD. 9/13 Detroit @ White Sox

QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Christ on a bike, just win the game. Chris Sale, show me that you're a truly elite pitcher in this league tonight. He did that when he overpowered the Yankees. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) They couldn't pitch Liriano because he's going to have to start on Friday now after wasting Santiago yesterday. Why use Santiago on short rest over Liriano last night. That is my point.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) Phillies and Brewers, over-.500, and 3 games back. And both teams have to be thinking about the moves they made at the deadline. Would they be better with some of those guys, or are they better without them? The Shane Victorino move in particular

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 09:52 AM) I have more problem with tonight, where we ran out two AAA relievers in big games (Septimo and Omogrosso), then the use of Liriano the day before. Neither of Septimo/Omogrosso have shown me much anything. On the flip side, Liriano is a proven starter with good stuff and past success. Albeit, he's clearly in a funk right now and has lost a lot of money over these past couple of weeks. If you use Liriano in a 3-2 game in the 8th on Tuesday you come back with him yesterday. Either you have a plan or you don't. I am starting to think they are making things up as they go along. This goes for the line-up, pinch hitting and the bullpen usage. Using the AAA pitchers to then go to the veterans is asinine.

I really hope they are done experimenting with the bullpen and line-up. -
While not a huge fan of Matt Thorton he has to be injured.
-
The handling of this bullpen is embarrassing. Matt Thorton better be injured. The hitting is still the overriding issue.
-
Amazing how this offense is unable to generate a single run
-
If Liriano was the answer last night, why is he not the answer tonight? Santiago is pitching well and it has worked out but the theory behind it makes no sense unless they were just pushing Liriano back and threw him yesterday to get him work which makes no sense either. Anyway the pitching has not been the issue the hitting is abysmal and getting Hudson in there over Beckham is not helping matters.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 08:28 PM) Gavin looks out of sorts from the stretch here. Fastball down 3-4 mph. Always does. That is why he can take a no hitter deep into the game but get roughed up at the drop of a hat.
-
How many pitches Max throw? Just joking.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) Scherzer getting frustrated by these long at bats, you can see it on his face Seemed like the same thing happened to Peavy last night.
-
Max at 77 pitches.

f***ing bunt.....

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) Angels beat him by going oppo. Good plan against a tough hurler. Our guys are yanking. The White have not do this. It seems that if a pitcher can execute a game plan they will have a tremendous amount of success. Breaking stuff off the corners and fastballs off the inner half. The White Sox do not make pitchers work consistently enough to force them to throw a strike. The prime example of this is El Gordo v Dyan in the 9th yesterday. The White Sox do not fight off tough pitches
-
Gavin looking good, nice to see and makes this game easier to stomach if he can get in a groove. This offense is atrocious right now.
-
ugh this offense I understand this pitcher is good but the at-bats are not even giving themselves a chance.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) Someone is overlooking the fact that Hudson sucks. He better try and bunt or I will run on the field and kick him in the ass.

If the CTU was represented by somebody that you could gravitate toward it would help their cause greatly. This seemed to be the case in the 1980's as well when they went on strike annually. They need a spokesperson to explain the situation not just stand there and tell me how wronged they are.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 08:14 AM) I'm not exactly pleased that Jax has to be on the run already, but holy s*** Sons of Anarchy. You don't f*** with Harold Perrineau (Damon Pope) - he's all about an eye for an eye. Jimmy Smits was good and Gemma's a big-time hoe. Love it. Clay's aged 10 years, which makes sense, and I don't care if Opie ever comes back. Oh, and Tara's officially an 'old lady'. I also enjoyed seeing Billy Brown, who played Death Row Reynolds in 'Lights Out'. That dude's a stone cold motherf***er. I'm excited to see where this season heads. I needed to go catch up on some things after the show and think I need to rush through season 4. The conversation with Jax and the cartel was very hard to understand.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 11:04 AM) Oh, and no matter what happens tonight, I have to give Gavin some major props for showing huge balls to return so quickly from his elbow soreness. With his contract possibly up after the season, he could have easily sat out the rest of the year. A sustained productive finish to the season could benefit him greatly. If he did not come back and his option was not picked up there is a big gray area for him. I think the winning team tonight wins tomorrow I also could see the Sox get no hit tonight or tomorrow. Let's hope Ventura doesn't have to manage as it has not been pretty recently for him.

2-0 and over swinging pop up on the infield which followed the overswinging attempt from Dyan that was some real bad baseball tonight
