  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) Hall is only hitting .212...which means he'll probably walk it off Didn't he homer to tie it in the 9th?
  2. 9 shut out innings from the M's ya Booby sure does suck. There is plenty of ineptitude to go around tonight. The M's scored all of their runs on homers like the Sox did last night.
  3. Wise should have been in the game in 9th in RF and this game would have been over already. I am starting to hate Jermaine Dye which is just sad.
  4. The Sox have scored 12 runs in the last 54 innings in Seattle...that's good.
  5. I think Rios will be fine next year. He will bat 6th or 7th and have no pressure on him. If Quentin is healthy, Ramirez, Beckham, Getz and Nix improve with experience and Konerko and AJ are close to what they ahve done this year, the Sox will be right there next year. I would keep Jenks as his value is low just not guarantee him the closers role.
  6. The bottom of this inning should just about be enough to end the Sox season. They got me interested again....actually the horses*** play of the Tigers did.
  7. Guillen oughta bench Dye and Rios for the rest of the year and play Wise and Kotsay everyday. Why is Getz not trying to steal every time he gets on?
  8. Dye, Rios and Quentin are failing much worse at their job than Jenks is this year. If Jenks does his job they win the game. If Rios or Dye do, they win as well. I agree that jenks is a sheel of himself and I am not sure why...the reason why Thorton is not closing is beyond me. Last 11 in a row retired by the Mariner pen...reminds me of the King Felix game.
  9. He needs location and is not getting it. The value that they could have gotten for him is pretty decreased now so there is no reason to trade him. I just turned the mgame on after the homer. This game resides squarly on the offensive bargae that has been shut out the 4 innings...... I will say it yet again, they have scored more than 4 runs once this entire trip. I blame the bullpen trouble on the fact that every inning of every game is stressful.
  10. There was an injury delay earlier in the game on a ball hit back to Grienke. Maybe they are also trying to limit his innings.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) I'm not the only non believer, just the one who gets criticized. I do not believe they are going to win but I am not going to sit around and tell people ad nauseum this. I also am going to watch and hope for the best. I really am not sure what your point is? Do you think you need to prove a point or something or prove that you are smarter than anyone? If I was as a defeated as you appear to be I would find something better to do with my time. The Sox win by default and if so they have played well enough against the Yankees, Red Sox and Angels that going in on a roll could make it interesting. You sound like all of those posters that threatened to never post again if Floyd had an ERA under 5.00 last year, they are all still around.
  12. If the White Sox hit they will win the division. Last night is exactly why they may not.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) No, Edwin Jackson pitched a whopping 2 innings in the World Series http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/pitchi...se&type=reg It went Kazmir-Shields-Garza-Sonnanstine I believe Ouch so the Sox beat Garza and lost to Sonnanstine.......
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) You guys following the Tiger games crack me up. When are you gonna believe we're toast? We're 5-6 in our last 11. We STILL have done nothing to pick up any ground. Last night's game was horrible. Why do you give a s*** and who are you to tell anyone anything. Your obvious hatred of the White Sox cracks me up as you spend more time on this board than anyone telling us this and that while being as clueless as anyone.
  15. I thought he had a decent year but nothing outstanding. Didn't he pitch in game 3 with Garza in game 4?
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) Do you mean Royals lead? That's what it says.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) KC already up 5-0 in the 3rd against DET. Edwin Jackson taking a beating, and Greinke is rolling (2 IP, he's struck out 5, given up 1 hit). If the Sox can win a game tonight, we're back where we were 24 hours ago (5.5 out). I have posted in regard to this game in three different threads.
  18. Edwin Jackson getting beat much worse than Floyd last night. 5-0 Royals top 3 with Zach looking good. Olivo with a 3-run shot. Tigers must have the same advance scouts as the Sox.
  19. Bunting is only good agaisnt an ACE or when the batter sucks and the next guy up is a really good hitter with men is scoring position and the runner on base is a smart base runner. Bunting to get to a .280 power hitter is stupid in my book especially if the bunter is fast an unlikely to ground into a double play.
  20. Good to see Bloomquist and Callaspo hit another team. Grienke with K's in the first.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) The Angels got absolutely screwed tonight by the umps. Nick Green got 5 strikes. Angel Hernandez was in two places at once? Griffey get 5 in the Sox game although only one was actually called a strike. Umpiring in baseball is atrocious.
  22. Bunting for this years team is worthless. My feeling is Guillen is thinking that if the defense and health of the rotation are there next year an enemic offense will be fine.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 08:14 AM) Found this cool website that shows how tough it would be to take the division now, we have to go 13-3 just to have a 50-50 chance of winning it If we finish: % chance of playoffs 16-0 99.7% 15-1 95.4% 14-2 79.1% 13-3 49.5% 12-4 18.1% 11-5 2.8% 10-6 0.1% 9-7 or worse 0 http://www.sportsclubstats.com/MLB/America...l/WhiteSox.html If the Sox learn to hit they will win the division.
