Konerko got all of it on a ball that would have made it 2-1 AJ swung at a ball and it was a 5 ball walk 8 walks....how sad -

I think the Sox win if Seattle does not score. -

I just checked in and can not get over how complacent this team is as I stated yesterday there really seems to be no desire to win and whether the quotes were out of context or not any player on this team to b**** and moan about Peavy and Rios proves this. They are a .500 team that thinks they are better than that....and sadly they are...they have zero baseball IQ...none -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) i think pods rulz in center cuz he is super fast and can run down anything and hes great cuz he steals lots of bases and distracts the pitcher when the next guy is in the batters box. I thought Dan Bernstein was on the air????? -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) Yeah, they do. Plus, the Ozarks area is really nice. But, yeah, thinking about it. Arkansas doesn't really have a whole lot going for it. Walmart although you could argue good v.v bad there. -

QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) News to you? You think that Swisher was an average CF and Ramirez was below average at 2b. There is no rationalizing with you. Lord knows what you think about Pods in center. Clayton was a better defensive SS than all of the folks mentioned above. The fact he could not hit was his problem. -
Dye stated that ideally he wants to play RF for two more years, then move to 1B to end his career.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) I also don't want to see 2006 relived. You know where Dye, Thome and others decided to stop hitting in August and September. That started in July this year.
-
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) Oh, you were talking about Sizemore so I thought you were comparing him to the league at large. I think I prefer Pods or Beckham leading off, but you could make a case for Rios if you're just talking about Sox players. Pods hitting .305....I agree Beckham is an RBI machine which would be wasted at the top of the order.
-
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:13 AM) Apparently because of the long flight? http://www.daily-chronicle.com/articles/20...36143/index.xml I hope he plays tonight--flight be damned. If he plays half asleep he will fit right in with Dye, Konekro, Thome, and Ramirez and the defense will still be better as it is totally asleep right now.
-
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Does not compute. For the options available to the Sox .335 is fine. His strikeout ratio is low and with Beckham and Quentin hitting behind him he should see good pitches. He does not walk enough but you take what you can get.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:55 PM) Wow, Gorzellany (sp?) doesn't face the Reds and look what happens! Cardinals have a lot of games left with teams under .500 and the Cubs are now in 2nd place where even if they win all 4 of their games in hand they come up a game short. A week ago in this thread the games in hand favored the cub...ooops.....this means the cub will have to use the 5th starter more often then they'd like and the Cards should they so desire will not.
-
I looked at the stats of Grady Sizemore compared to Rios and while Sizemore is the better power hitter I think Rios is the better defender and makes better contact....this trade really is a good move considering what the options were going forward. Rios is as good a lead-off candidate as anyone his career OBP is .335.

Skipping the fifth starter is going to cost this team as all four starters look like they could use an extra day of rest right now. -
