QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:51 PM) I think it's a safe assumption that Wise clears waivers if we DFA him. Ramirez sucks at short they need to realize that rather soon. The 1-2 pitch should have been strike three. -

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) who goes off the 25-man for freddy? randy wiiliams? I would guess Wise to the DL to be brought back in 15 days with expended rosters. Thorton needed to end that AB in 3 pitches. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) Very nice, just missed it. Everyone besides Beckham and Konerko has had real nice swings tonight. It is odd that Beckham is not hitting at home. -

Haweroo has zero ability to judge fly balls any longer....and remember how many outs there are. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) 4 runs, 6 innings, 1 run given up by the defense, not a great performance but he hung in there. Sadly the disappearing offense is back in town though. -

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) and have our RBI leader on the bench? Both guys are the hitting version of Buerhle. Since the ASB they are as useless as could be. Neither add enough intangibles with speed, defense and OBP to go into the slumps they both are which have doomed the Sox before. If Buerhle is not hitting his spots he is useless. -

Just chiming in to say the Royals can not hit and this is the type of run that Buerhle goes on that keeps his name off of the list of elite pitchers. He can be as good as anyone in baseball and as equally bad on any given night. Any time the middle of the order wants to show up they are welcome to do so. If the Sox lose this game there is a better than average chance that they roll into a ball and get swept. This is 2003 all over again. Best team in the AL that year. -
Brewers option Hardy, DFA Bill Hall, fire pitching coach

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 10:31 PM) Good for Jason, I hope he sticks in the bigs for a little while. I am still angry today that Bourgeois stayed in AAA while Andy Gonzalez was remaining in MLB during a certainly forgettable season. Outside of 2000 and 2005, 2007 did more for the Sox than any other season since 1994. -
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 10:21 AM) Let's get to 1.5 back today. Tigers game loooks more winnable as the Sox and the only thing going agaisnt he Sox is that they are on the road.

The double play in the Royals game was the same as the cub game. The Royal player was called out of the base line while Lee was called safe and he was both out of the base line and was tagged. The cub then got the two runs.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 03:25 AM) We got immediate (literally) impact from Erstad and Griffey. Did not work out so well. Griffey gave the Sox exactly what they wanted. -
The Mets will beat them 5 out of 6 games. The rest of the NL gets to play crap teams as well East has the Nats West has the Pads and D'Backs Central has the Pirates and Reds (although they were good until the break) The difference between the cubs and Sox is the cubs simply destroy s*** pitching while the Sox can not touch it. Sox did not hit Pirate pitching in at least two games and did not sweep the Reds or Pirates.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) Honestly, people like that probably are more fans of meth and malt liquor than sports teams. What's wrong with malt liquor?

Ladies and gentleman I present to you the case of the grossly over paid and woefully lazy Aramiz Ramirez......funny what happens to a guy when there is actually a chance at winning something as oppossed to knowing by Memorial Day that your season is over again and your stuck there for another 5 years.....oh and they are going to get rid of the best pitcher in baseball for s***s and giggles. He may bomb but he may not....... Remember when Slick Nick rolled into town and Dirty 30 was all the rave......how'd that turn out.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) Go to the trib and suntimes front pages. That guys face is all over the net It wont be long The guy that got busted looks like Bartman a little bit.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) Reminder for those who are lucky enough to have MLBN, Red Sox/Tigers on at 12:30 then there's a night game on at 6 or 7, (not by my TV so can't remember who, but I believe it's a good matchup). Bonus: no Steve Phillips or Joe Morgan!!!! and if it's the MLBN tonight the national guys will actually discuss teams other than the NYY or Bos!!! Costas is likely doing one of them.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) If I'm the White Sox, Bears, and Bulls, once they find this dude I would make a statement and ban him from life from my sporting events. The cubs will but I am sure they are not going to know if he gets in or not. The Liques are banned from the Cell.....how hard is it to put on a hat and come in.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 09:29 AM) Absolutely not. They need to set a precedent with that guy. If they do just let it go it is a way of condoning what he did and saying that actions such as his will be tolerated. Not the right way to handle it at all. Especially since it was on ESPN for the entire country to see. And I am sure they will be there to cover whatever happens to him like they did with Randy Myers, Chad Kruter and the guy that took the run at Howry. I agree he should get busted charged with a felony and spend a few days in jail but to give him any more air time is laughable. They had their chance to get him and they screwed it up.
-
Let's put this guys picture out there to keep him in the spotlight. Let it f***ing go. THe Budweiser Blechers will never have beer sales bannedand this will continue to happen. Security at that park is nonexistant.

Colon, Contreras and Garcia in a playoff bullpen for one inning each would be intriguing.

Fields playing worse in Minors than in the Majors

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) If you face him anywhere but USCF, you have a chance. Hitters hit better at home and pitchers seem to pitch better at home...maybe that is what home field advantage means but I don't know. -
I think a Nix/Getz platoon at 2B is your leadoff hitter next year.

QUOTE (G&T @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) Talk about a really stupid thing to do for teams in pennant chases. Youk will probably get 3-5 games for throwing the helmet and Porcello will probably miss a start. He may miss the Sox series....
