Joe Crede Possibly Retiring
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Except that Joe was a .266 hitter in the "clutch." http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...r&t=b#clutc Sorry, a 3-run homer in the 5th is more important than the walkoff single. If the 3-run homer isn't there, there is no setup for the walkoff. Just give me the best damn overall hitters possible. My post should have been in green sorry.

Joe Crede Possibly Retiring
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Greg, I have a really hard time calling a guy, who by the numbers, was a below average offensive player (compared to every hitter in the leage) at a corner position anything more than a "good" player. How can a player with a career 93 OPS+ (100 is the line for the "average" hitter) be a "good" hitter without question? Because going 1 for 7 but hitting a walk-off makes you a good hitter. Hawk'll take .200 hitters that hit .800 in the 9th inning every day of the week.

After the last game Dotel has to be ahead of Pena....I believe DJ should as well.

Why did we trade Nick Swisher?
Here is the end to this thread; Swisher was brought in to play leftfield Quentin became an MVP candidate Swisher sucks as a CF There was no room for him and he didn't have a positive vibe...off he went Some liked him some didn't

Peavy claims to be ready
Cooper on the SCORE said he would throw another bullpen session over the weekend and go from there.........he also said they are still in it to win it......we could see him sooner

The What's Wrong with Rios Thread
I could have caught it.....

White Sox very long game winner!
The bright spot for that game was Dotel, Jenks and Ramirez/AJ in extra innings. You may see Dye and Rios both benched in favor of Kotsay and Fields. Fields defense at first saved that game and he got a hit late.

fans booing Dotel throwing over to first....nice Wow bad baserunning there This could be the worst baseball game I have ever seen and I have only been watching since the bottom of the 8th why can't the pen be consistent? Dotel looked good......I guess if I could answer that question I'd be a great GM

Oakland A's @ Chicago White Sox, 7:11, CSN
If the $12M Dye could do anything the league minimum Pena would not be an issue Why is Dotel still in the game?

QUOTE (CQMVP @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 10:42 PM) Smart play by Fields to bunt there, actually. There is NO arm at 3B. Amazing nobody has done that before. Nice job Josh. NO SMALL BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) Jermaine can't even get a walkoff single against a pathetic team like Oakland. Wow. I hope Pena left the ballpark. His teammates should b****slap him for making them stick around another hour or two when they could be out drinking if he'd have gotten one out. Pena sucks but the hitting did themselves no favors. 6 runs in 20 innings against the A's...that is winning beisbol.

Oakland A's @ Chicago White Sox, 7:11, CSN
This is whre the A's get a cheap run and the Sox go meekly. A win yesterday and today and my interest is piqued instead we get the Tony Pena hitless wonder show against the A's AAA pitching staff.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) I think PK was hit on purpose to get to Dye. They were obviously coming in off the plate to him.

That is what happens when you stop going the other way and refuse to use what the other team gives you.
