  1. I am gatting to the point where I really what this season to end. This team is hard to believe in. When was the last time they hit well in a game? I mean destroyed a pitcher? In the last 6 games they are a 2 1/2 to 1 favorite 3 times and will after today have lost all three. That to me is a really sad stat.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) There's no reason for AJP to be sitting today with Sox facing a great LHP on Tues No reason for Rios, Konerko and Thome to be hitting ahead of Quentin. Also when thinking of the White Sox promising future, and I believe there is one, I do not consider Ramirez to be major component of it. He fits right in with the Thome, Dye, Podsednik, Konerko inconsistent single dimension of the game where they are unable to add a benefit to the team when they are going bad.
  3. I would have to say that Guillen is having as bad a season as anyone. He does not seem to have afeel for the game and I am not saying he should be fired. He should be using his bullpen much more no that they are/were skipping the 5th starter. In 5 or so years we will be talking about the horrible slumps of Paul Konerko and Mark Buerhle as much as we are talking about how good they are. The inconsistency of this team is simply maddening.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:03 PM) Way to get in front of the ball Lillibridge!! I can't believe this pathetic player is getting another chance in the majors. Shame on this organization. I understand having him on the roster but there really is no reason for him and Castro to play. You need this game more so than the one's in Boston and New York. Again though, this offense is putrid.
  5. This has the makings of a repeat from Friday. Easy win on paper then the offense forgets to show up.
  6. I am much more happy that Rowand is gone than Uribe. Uribe never lost games and his glove won plenty. I do not consider failing to drive in runs as costing a team a game. Ramirez does not make either one of those 2005 plays but that is beside the point. Uribe gave everything he had and I appreciate that.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) Unfortunately, we could be in the same spot in about 10 days with our brutal schedule and terribly unreliable 4th and 5th starter options. Yes but the future of the Sox has them potentially being the best team in baseball next year......the cubs.....just another year older.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Not good enough how? He makes rookie mistakes? Yes, cause he's a rookie at the position. Look at his upside, good range, great arm, great height and reach. He will be a plus SS before the end of next season, there is no doubt in my mind. Charging a ground ball and turning a DP are things he should have been able to do in Cuba which he is unable to do.
  9. Inge always kills the Sox even when they are not facing him.
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Looks like Aaardsma going to have Thames, Raburn, and M-Cab in the bottom 9. Guillen or Granderson will PH for Thames. Also 9 up, 9 down for the M's after the delay against Seay and Miner
  11. If the M's lose it will be their bullpen blowing it again. Being shut by them for 13 innings is a real kick in the nuts.
  12. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) What channel is it on? MLB Network
  13. Call it. You do not want to endanger anyone out there.
  14. Rowland-Smith struggling.....loaded one out
  15. Big Russ 6-2 M's are they playing at Wrigley with a howling wind???? Regardless of the outcome the Washburn move is not looking really good right now over 90 pithces and not even through 6.
  16. Inge has 42 walks and 122 strikeouts yet he homered again 4-2 ugh wind must be blowing out or something.
  17. Jamaji 4 - 0 I could only imagine what Tigertalk is like right now.
  18. QUOTE (hawkubes @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) JOSE LOPEZ indeed
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 10:22 AM) A position he's never played before? If anything he should be moved back to 2B. Nix and getz are fine there who plays third? Beckham never played third until this past May and he has adjusted well. Send Ramirez to winter ball and spring training and I think he will be fine. He looks like he has never played short before.
  20. Neither guy can stay healthy and both on the team are fine. Whom is better will wash itself out. Nix striking out less and Getz walking more will do everybody a-lot of good. Both are rookies and have their flaws but both have promising upside which is nice to have.
  21. Ramirez needs to move to third and Beckham short. Ramirez has too much time to think at SS and Beckham could not be any worse. I am waiting for a slow roller to stop and Ramirez to sit and watch it while the runner rounds the bases. He refuses to charge a ball now. The play yesterday was abysmal.
  22. If Ryne Sandberg is named manager here is the rhetoric you will hear from the minion nation; ? "Rhino.....awesome. Rhino knows Wrigley and what it takes to win here. We would have won with Rhino in 69 and he carried us in 84, 89, 92, 96 and 03. If we had Rhino as player manager the last two years we would have won it all. Pinella couldn't handle the winning tradition that is expected here, he was a loser look at what he did in Tampa. Rhino, he is a hall of famer and a winner. He will go to Santo for advice in the playoffs and what it takes to be a winner. Santo has the rings to prove it. He can bring back Bowa to coach third, Bobby Dernier can work with the outfielders, Sarge can replace Joshua as the hitting coach and have Sutcliffe work with the pitchers. Jody can turn Soto back into the MVP winner like he was last year. RHINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! f*** ya." Rick Sutcliffe during the game on ESPn was talking about how Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones are great because they play every day of the season from spring to the end of the year because they feel they owe it to the fans .....Jeter yes but hasn't Chipper missed huge chuck of time in more than a few seasons?????? ESPN flat out sucks.
  23. Lot of talk on the radio that as soon as the cubs are eliminated Pinella will step down. They feel he has given up on this team.
