QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 11:17 AM) thats what i think they should do, put jd as the dh and they better not resign thome too though. all those options listed above, its the same problem=no speed. A speedy team is nice but you still need balance. The only problem with the lack of speed on this team right now is it is bunched together 4 through is 7. The other guys are plenty fast enough. AJ should bat ninth and Fields fifth......problem is who bats second?

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 10:49 PM) Mike Keenan being a b****. Crying about Goaltender's interferrence in overtime. Keenan was complaining about the Hawks running the goalie which is funny as Eddie O pointed out during the game that, that was what Calagary's M.O. seemed to be and it was perfectly fine. Keenan bringing up the Brett Hull interference was great. -
QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) episode was in the mold of one of the first few seasons, going back and forth between flashbacks off the island and now on the island.... you knew farraday would return at some point. I also think Pierre Chang knows its his son...he obviuosly knows the capability of time travel and the island, and hes gotta think its more than a coincidence that an asian guy named miles shows up. Who were teh people in the van that tell Miles not to go to the island? Obviously they are against Widmore, so does that mean they are working for/with Ben? Are they some sort of third party? Also they ask the same question Ilana asks to Lupidus "what lies in the shadow of the statue." wtf im so confused Miles was part of Dharma before the baby Miles was born.....he was there for two years before the baby was born I could not remember who had the other statue comment thanks for helping there.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:16 AM) that we need a lefty, so owens will get some playing time That is all you need to hear. Owens will play above Anderson as Guillen has gone completly overboard with the leftie/rightie thing.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 05:46 AM) http://www.weather.com/maps/geography/midw...ndex_large.html Looks like they should be able to play eventually...there's a band of rain all the way across Michigan, but hopefully it will clear out in the next six hours...then there's a "window" to the west. The game might be delayed an hour or two, but they should be able to get it in eventually. Not too crazy about Contreras pitching in these conditions, though. Obviously it affected Floyd quite a bit. It's no surprise both teams moved back Porcello and Danks, you don't want your best pitchers subjected to those type of conditions if you can prevent it, and it makes sense for Guillen to break up Contreras/Colon at the back of the rotation with another pitcher, especially since Colon and Contreras are throwing at almost the same exact speed with their FB's. I believe Danks was pushed back as he can control the Days running game a bit better than Contreras.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 11:45 AM) Yet Willie Harris makes so much more sense!! Isn't he on a roster? Teams are going to rape KW as they have him by the proverbial short hairs.

Anybody else not feelin' the Hawk-Stoney combo
Harry Chappas replied to Wanne's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) I like the combo. Although, I've had enough of Hawk calling Stone "Stone Pony" already. After watching the MLB Package preview on Comcast last week. Some of the other teams announcers are dreadful. It could be worse. Exactly, I use the cubs guys as I watch them the second most. Len Kasper has drowned in the Kool-Aid. Also both the television and radio guys only talk about the cubs and that is it. There is an odd thing that goes on like there is no other team or anything that they talk about needs to be related back to the cubs and how it impacts them. Hawk's stories get old but there are far worse alternatives. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 09:06 AM) They'll probably play, but this wouldn't be the worst game to get rained out. Both teams have next Monday off, so they wouldn't have to worry about pitching anyone on short rest if there is a doubleheader on Wednesday. One of the guys pitching tomorrow would have to pitch Sunday.

Wise to DL with Separated Shoulder/Anderson to Start in CF
Harry Chappas replied to Jimmywins1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 09:29 AM) Yes because the Sports Center top 10 plays of the day is how we grade defensive ability now a days, it actually wouldn't surprise me if that's how gold glove votes are determined, I'm sure Nate McLouth is falling down all the time. I can't remember the last time I saw them highlight an excellent jump and subsequent effortless grab in the gap in a highlight package or montage. Sammy Sosa falling down to catch a ball in right field after misreading it off the bat? I believe those were almost daily. Instincts don't make for the flashiest highlights. That being said, the play Wise made in the gap yesterday was excellent and I'm sure a much better/more important play than some of those ranked ahead of it. Some NBA slam dunk was most likely number one or the Reed Johnson play from Sunday........I understand yesterday was Monday and it was Monday's plays of the day. -
I only saw from the bottom of the fifth throug hthe top of the ninth and I could only see it as I was on the treadmill and elliptical. The Sox never can make it easy as while the Tigers did not score after I began watching, they stranded 9 in the 3.1 innings I watched. The offense loked godd but it looked liek the strike zone was different for the two teams or at least the Sox sems smaller. Isn't Phil Couzy the guy Guillen can not stand. Feel bad for Wise.

Injury or no injury I firmly believe that Josh Fields will have a better year than Crede this year and everyone hereafter. I think Josh Fields is still learning the game and getting better. He looks as good if not better than Joe Crede at this age as I always felt Joe ran into one more than hitting a pitcher. The Crede pop out on pitches he should have crushed made me ill. I liked Joe but I always felt he was overrated offensively. I think Fields can learn to be that good defensivley as he seems more than willing to work hard and do what it takes. I appreciate Crede but I think in the long run Fields can be a better player. Batting second will do wonders for Josh as he seems to be looking to simply put the ball in play which is good. The Living on a Prayer after the Crede HR in that game was awesome. Also the White Sox do not win the World Series without Crede and for that I will always like him.

QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 05:57 PM) Alot of movement. The only question was if it was going to end up over the plate. I was gettting pissed as that was all he threw. With that lead all he had to do was throw fastbnall strikes. He did have good movement and was not goign ot get hit hard. Almost walked everyone. He would be lights out of he got his act together.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 10:35 PM) i thought the locke ben dynamic was great in tonights episode....i thought it was one of the better ones among the recent season....in typical lost fashion, a couple of questions answered....even more questions proposed... Is Illana an other? What happened to Ben after he gets his crap kicked in by Desmond...does Desmond just leave him in the water? What the hell is the temple and how did locke know where it is? And now i think even Locke has entered a new strata of "special." We've heard that other people on the island are special (walt, etc.) but it seems Locke transcends this into almost somethign divine, when Ben is down in the hole looking up at him (Him?) Locke knew where the smoke monster was because of the flashback with Rousseau when the one guy was dragged into the hole and the rest followed. Then he flashed again before gettign the result.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) You're saying all that after seeing Brian Anderson strike out in his at-bat today? Brian Anderson sucks, dude. I'd still rather have Wise playing CF because he still has pop. BA and Lillibridge shouldn't even be on this team. I will say this as nicely as possible. Dwayne Wise is a 31 year old minor leaguer who hasa a career .218 MLB batting average and a .254 minor league average. He does nothing will. Brian Anderson was a first round draft pick that had success in the minor leagues who I believe has been screwed over by the White Sox in that he was made to be the scapegoat in 2006 and has not gotten consistent ab's since. If you think Wise as more power than Anderson than we will have to agreee to disagree. There is no single phase of the game that Dwayne Wise is better than Brian Anderson at. Have you seen Wise this year. To compare Anderson's one at-bat.........I'm done this is a waste of time.
-
This will be the 4th year where Brian Anderson will not get consistent AB's.......anyone think of that. He has not gotten a regular set of AB's since 2005. I believe the White Sox totally f***ed up any chance of him making it as a an MLB player. Pathetic that Wise is still in there, s*** play lillibridge.
-
Did Coco Crisp have more total bases than the White Sox today? Talk about insult to injury. Ramirez and Wise are laughable right now. Thome/Dye/Konerko/AJ need to be broken up in the order. Pitching looks good thus far.......

Fans can boo whoever they want. Also I believe many fans are booing the situation not Wise per se as there really is no reason to not like Wise, he is not an MLB player but he is not going to refuse the assignment or the money.
