  1. Sorry for the vulgarity but I am watching this game on Soxtalk (better than web watching) and want to let out a passionate. f*** YA, NOW LET'S GO!!!!!
  2. It is the manager's job to get his team ready to play and give them the best shot at winning. When the starter gives up 7 runs in 5.1 innings to a horses*** team, it is the mangers fault by not knowing what is going on with his pitcher. When the reliever we could have used to face Teahan was used 3 innings earlier,it is the manager's fault. This game was Ozzief***'s fault who will he blame tonight, the fans that didn't go to KC to cheer on our heros. We are 1-5 in our last six, tell me again about having to play .500 ball. WE have to win tomorrow and all three over the weekend to be at .500. I hope Buerhle steps up.
  3. OK Hermanson either has to pitch more or not at all this is f***ing stupid. Welcome Mr. Jenks, your table is ready. Mr Dye and Podsednik open your eyes there is a game to be played. No worries we have to play .500 ball. Maybe Ozzief*** will go to Miami and stay there whose fault was this....
  4. So Baj will pitch in this game later then Cotts.......... You know, I miss Marte.
  5. Can Hermanson do what Jenks did last night? Jenks for the 8th? Baj........ Somehow Sanders will be in some time soon.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) We do have more relievers than usual in the pen, but I doubt Ozzie trusts them enough for a close game. If Marte's going to be out for the year, Ozzie has got to let Cotts go longer in the game. I just jumped on sorry if this is a repeat. Doesn't it seem when a reliever comes in to start freash in an inning for us they are lights out but when Guillen gets creative (i.e. using two or more guys in an inning), we end up giving up runs.
  7. The players in this lineup were 2-25 with 5 BB's and 9 K's the law of averages which are so prevalent in baseball dicate we should be ok. Sorry though I liked my lineup better. This guy didn't throw a breaking ball his last outing I'd hate to see if he has one tonight. Let's do something different tonight.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) SOooooooo....where is the rest of baseball. I mean its good and all to mention some of the teams with premier catchers. Being, 1st, 4th and 11th in something is not avg, avg is about the 50th percentile. He would have to be about 15-17th to really be avg, in every category. But go ahead and list the teams with premier catchers if that makes you feel like you are correct. AJ is a career 290 hitter with a .331 OBP. He makes less than 3 million a year at this point. He handles his staff better than a majority of the guys you think are better, and has played better defense. s***, Victor has allowed 90 sb's this season for god sakes. In the AL (I mentioned every team in the AL) he is 11th in Zone Rating, 8th in CS% and 6th in Games Played out of 11 eligible catchers. He is second (not in a good way) in PB. I like him and think he is good for the organization but feel he is average and can be resigned for a reasonable amount he has a personality that may turn teams off. Sorry if you feel differently but that is all I am saying.
  9. Borch in right Dye DH Anderson LF Ozuna 38 Ozuna - Iguchi - Rowand - Konerko - Dye - Piez - Uribe - Borchard - Anderson Can't do any worse than last week and I think this is a better defensive team.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Wild Pitches=Pitchers fault Passed Balls=cathers fault baseball 101 The other numbers sounds avg? He is LEADING the league in defense. He is in the top 10 in the other categories. Do you know how many teams are in the league? Because being in the upper third in stats does not make you avg. I think maybe you need to look up the term average and figure out if you are using the correct word. He is a top catcher, he plays every day, handles his pitching staff almost better than everyone, plays great defense and hits for power. What more do you want. The point of this thread was about how great he was and that he should make a ton next year based on mid-May performanace. After watching him this year I understand why he was let go. I really overrated him (I thought he would be awesome). The firey side of him is what this team needed but I can also see how it could wear thin. He is worth 3 to 5M a year no more. I THINK HE IS AVERAGE I DO NOT THINK HE SUCKS!!!! I think his passion is what we need that other teams did not. That was my point. He is not a $9M a year guy. 4th in HR but 11th in slugging is not good, it is average. There are many pitches that are called wild pitches that he should've got to, the first one last night did not hit the dirt. If you can stop it, don't call it. We can win with him as our catcher and I think he should be resigned but he is not that prize I really thought he was. He is a huge addition and benefit for this team but he is not the top tier guy I thought. That is all I am trying to say.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) and that someone should be Jenks Heat. These teams have comparable catchers in the AL where there are 14 teams; Cleveland, Minnesota, Boston, New York, California, Oakland, Baltimore, Detroit These that don't Texas, KC, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Toronto Looks average to me.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) denfense is below avg huh? He leads the league in fielding percentage for catchers (.999), 3rd in PO, 6th in CS. offense is avg huh? I believe he is 4th in Hr's 6th in RBI's 8th in hits 11th in SLG in the AL. I just think the wild pitches could be cut down. The other numbers sound average to me. Also the hitting sounds about average to me 4th in HR 11th in slugging, some disconnect here don't you think? I am not saying I am not happy to have the guy or that he isn't worth $3-5M but I thought he was a top catcher and he is probably average with the intangibles lifting him or dropping him as he is a personality that can be taken either way. When he faced us I thought he was worth more then what we are paying him now I can see why he got what he got.
  13. I kind of see why he doesn't get much attention. He is an upgrade but his defense is below average, his hitting is average. If the intangibles are not good (SF) I could see letting him go. We the top two pitchers in WP. He is a groundout machine.
  14. Time for Ozzeroo to get a clue and AJ to block a pitch. I know some of those pitches are tough but the third strike should have been caught or at least knocked down.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) I wanted him out after the Sweeney hit. However, if Ozzie was going to let him pitch to the next few guys, then why not finish your mess? Berroa is a good fastball hitter, and we bring in a fastball pitcher in Politte. Oh well.....this is Ozzie's ass on the line, not mine. Exactly.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Konerko: 2005 RISP: .240 BA .840 OPS 2005 Runners on: .267 BA .871 OPS Career RISP: .272 BA .818 OPS Career Runners on: .278 BA .824 OPS He may not be very good with RISP 2 outs but he ain't bad with RISP and better with runners on in general. For comparative sake can you post the league or Sox average in this category?? I am lazy.
  17. We got swept by the Angels, I can live with that. Not good but we are still on pace to win 97 games, with 20 left. We play the Royals, Cleveland plays Oakland. This looks nice. We play the Twins while Cleveland is playing the Red Sox, I beleive. Twins look to have packed it in and we have 6 left with them. All of these things point to a nice week ahead. Maybe. Ozzie needs to leave town to get away from the City of Chicago??? Doesn't the entire team leave for a week tomorrow? Who are these folks beating him down, the (softball question) reporters? Do the fans get to sit down and chat with him? Who is he getting away from??? Sounds like the 2004 cubs if you ask me now we just need to get rid of some broadcasters. I was fine with the state of affairs until I realized (I saw no baseball all weekend, Sox included until last night) that a Twins starter did not make it through the 5th??? Sanatana was beat? Maybe the schedule is not as favorable. We need to hit, it is that simple and we need to change up a couple of things. This is where the manager needs to see what he has and go from there. This is where Ozzie needs to lead, and he is off to Miami.......maybe he will chat with Nick Saben, remember him a leader the Bears could not use. I gotta get away from the city of Chicago.
  18. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 10, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) This would be an ideal situation for Borchard. Good defense and as likely to get a big hit as Timo.
  19. This would be an ideal situation for Borchard. Good defense and as likely to get a big hit as Timo.
  20. Hence the two year ban as the IOC has. Sit 10 games and reap the benefits for a few months/years.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) too bad for the cubs, his option is kicking in and he is automatically owed 9 million for next year. $9M for a guy that wins 15 games a year sounds right.
  22. The Trib in the article today has this weekend drawing >30,000 for all three games and over 20,000 (I would hope this will continue to rise) for the Indians and Twins. Using the Royals excuse I don't get. If I am going to a game I want to see a bad team so there is a greater chance my team will win. I just hope they have a shot at clinching at home, should be another sell-out.
