I believe the booing was for Marte, that was why I got up and left when I saw him coming in. For every questionable move Guillen makes, they are 36 games over. That is enough for me although I could go without Marte.
-
Where are the road games??? How do you know they are not in Milwaukee?
-
I think Borchard should get some looks especially against righties. He can play right and let Dye and Everett DH. Borchard is a very solid outfielder who will be gone next year.

QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) Send the petition to The Score then, and eliminate the middle man. The Score apparantly has more control over who broadcasts the games and they couldn't come to terms with Rooney. The Score has nothing to do with the broadcasters it is the team that does. This is a Sox decision. The SCORE may ahve input but they work for the Sox. Teh SCORE is a s*** station none the less and this is a real pisser. Why is DJ still employeed, does anyone like him???? Uh Oh.

Sox added a bat at the deadline.............

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) When Juan goes to right field like that is when he starts going insane at the plate, hopefully hopefully hopefully hopefully we'll get a hot Juan Uribe for the rest of the season and into the playofs. A hot Juan and a hot Carl and the division and enjoyment is ours. -
Well at least we can get less of Jeff Blum at first and Timo as the primary LH off the bench. But seriously folks if Ozuna shows he can play defense, mostly third, can Gload replace Blum or at we stuck with the "offensive" Jeff Blum.
-
No Blum good to see. Ride this lineup fro the next week please.
-
Graffanino and Lawton would look a lot better than Blum and Harris, or whoever the 25th man will be. Ozuna, Widger, Timo, Blum, Willie........this bench is disgusting. Replace Blum and Willie with Lawton and Graffnaino and lose 4 minor league pitchers (nopt named McCarthy) and I'd be happy. This makes my stomach turn to think how bad we are if we miss another regular. I can not believe there was nothing to be had. KW was fixated on a big move and instead made no moves. Very bad decision.

So I am reading this Frank DeFord book about how Christy Mathewson and John McGraw basically made baseball what is it. I am only 50 pages in so lets see how it goes but a couple of little facts. William McKinley was assissinated 09-14-01 WTC 09-11-01; odd The writer's of Casey at the Bat (Plate) whatever it is and Take Me Out to the Ballgame had never witnessed a baseball game before penning these items. At the end of each the player strikes out. The Ballgame song guy wrote it on a train soon after passing Ebbets field. Bedtime let's see what crap this book has in store. I give it another two nights before it is fodder for the fire pit.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) I know so. The guy I have season tickets with knows Jimbo quite well. He likes both teams. Ever notice we joined on the same day, probably same time. Huh. Anyway he got pissed when I was in there for the playoffs and blasting the cubs. I just found it funny, the Sox are a big book of his business so he should be happy with and root for them. I AM NOT TRYING TO START ANYTHING BY THE WAY. Ingins lose, I am happy but Crosby hurt really bites.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Didn't Adkins get sent down for Baj? And Baj for McCarthy hence their unavailability.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) He likes the Sox,too. Think so???

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Maybe it was strictly the bat, DA. I'm not sure, just posing possibilities. While Burke may be good, Casanova could be better? Also, is it me or was Willie Harris missing from that list? Did I miss his name?? Crede move. I miss Joe.

Saddest part going into today our bullpen was really well rested (Baj and Adkins I believe were unavailable literally. Here was a plan I thought would be good. 6th Vizcaino 7th Cotts 8th Politte 9th Hermanson

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Of course it doesn't matter. It goes to show you how important every game is, especially head to head. That's why you shouldn't just piss them away. The Sunday line-up should be disbanded until the division is clinched. or at least until Sunday
-
The owner of Jimbo's is a diehard cub fan FWIW.
-
Jaime Burke can hit, at least no worse than half of today's lineup. He also can play a few positions. Raul Cassanova will start tomorrow or Sunday (I am only somewhat joking). Although not a fan of Adkins, with another lefty in the pen, lord help us. I remember Kevin Walker all to well. Guillen and this organization look really lost right now.
-
They are 5-13 in their last 18. The play Minny 7 times, California 3 and the Indians 6. The Royals have a two game winning streak against us and Tigers have played us tight and have a much better hitting team than us. We play them 6 times. Minnny 2 - 5 (We are 2-5 in our last 7 against them) Cal 1-2 Det 3-3 and this is a stretch Clev 1-5 (They want it more sorry) 7-15, go from there
-
At least our bullpen will be good and rested for winter ball. Guillen is a great motivator but a completly horse s*** manager. My gut tells me Cleveland is watching this on tv (ala Dusty Baker theory) and licking their chops.
-
3 batters - 6 pitches - 2 runs - man on first Oh well at least the defense was good. Would have been nice if the 9th hitter led off instead of the leadoff man. At least we have played some kick ass small ball.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Our "regulars" havent done much in this game, but "this lineup" which I assumes means the subs, have manufactured a run, and looked more sound in the field. How is that sadness? What is this sound defense of which you speak from our subs????

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Our "regulars" havent done much in this game, but "this lineup" which I assumes means the subs, have manufactured a run, and looked more sound in the field. How is that sadness? Maybe we can play to a time limit draw. We have become very good at making bad pitchers look great (monday's starter, CJ Wilson yesterday and now today). We just keep tipping our cap to them.
-
He has been behind just about every hitter he has faced (11 of 16) at one point. That is when we are not swinging at the first pitch. Jeez this gets old. The relief pitcher yesterday that was 0-6 got tired too that doesn't mean we will hit him.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) how about a bunch of posts b****ing about the sox scoring a run... The post you quoted is the reason for the b****ing it is not rocket scientry...see Konerko's last at-bat. Look for a pitch don't get it, swing anyway. There is no strike zone recognition by this team at all.
