Seattle has be reluctent to make moves in teh past and it has hurt them. Their willingness to release Aurilla or Olerud and spend on their contracts mean they need something moreso then we do. Valentin/Lee and Konerko would somewhat fit their needs. There seems to be some identical needs here starting with Konerko/Valentin for Olerud/Meche or Lee/Valentin/Pitcher for Garcia/Aurillia....

The post on not taking pitches hits it right on the head. How many times do we get a guy 0-2 and they work the count by fouling off good pitches or laying off bad ones. Rowand last eve was 0-2 and swung at a ball 1 foot outside and at the letters. We do not fight off (foul) good pitches nor do we let bad pitches go by. Diaz was pitching on three days rest the key to the Tribe was to make him throw a a-lot of pitches and get to the pen early. Int eh same vain the Sox philiosophy swing at everything. Saturday night Seth Gesinger threw 64 through 6 innings.

His first start he threw strikes and got hit hard. His second he tried to locate and got hit hard. 3 days rest as opposed to Garland on three days rest, sounds like we were somewhat conceding this game anyway. I am not sure about this guys stuff anyway. He threw his breaking balls up and I don't think he was in the 90's all that often with his fastball. His next start is definitly make or break, oh and it is against the Twins. A trade needs to be made ASAP.

With Glause (sp) down for possibly the year, if we wanted Washburn it would cost us Crede. Not sure I would be against this with Uribe moving to third.

I sat through three days of that s*** and went to the Rush game yesterday to forget about it. I wanted to point out that we never foul off pitches and pop/fly out at an alarming rate. The post game press conference with Ozzie was great to hear and it seems to ahve made an impact, at least for one day.

I think it could be time to blow this team up. While sitting at the game yesterday they had a stat that told the whole story. In the last five years 3 times the leading RBI man for the Twins was under 100. In the two years where the leader was over 100, they had 103 and 105. Jacque Jones career high is 88. Yet they consistently win and kick our ass because they have great defense and play smart. The stupidity of last eve showed me that nothing will change with this team and every single player should be offered up. The lack of execution is astounding. Oh and I will be at my 10th game tonight, I need to seek professional help.

Wouldn't Beane covet Jeremy Reed?
-
For example Kyle Farnsworth

He is getting ahead of hitters and nobody is hitting him hard. The ball Crede dropped I beleive is the third time an infielder (Harris twice) dropped a double play ball after KOch ahd walked a hitter. If he was getting hit like he and Rick White were last year I would be cautious. He makes you nervous but is getting it done.

First off what are the O's ranked in hitting? Second, he throws strikes. Add one and two plus his debut and you get your answer as to what happened to Felix. The guy looked good and got beat by some decent talent. Also the O's had scored one run going into that game, the law of averages says they would have hit eventually. Overall he did fine and is worthy of the fifth spot for now.

I hope the Sox realize that with a true 5 man rotation guys will be stronger than throwing every fifth day and skipping starts. Last week with 3 days rest he was pounded, yesterday with 5 days rest he was lights out. Now all we need is a 5th starter and let him throw every 5th day.

The outfield fight reference was unneccessary and the remainder sounds like a thread from a day or two back on this site. They talked about a fight on the radio in the 5th and man was the crowd loud but Jay.....well he is an asshole.

Who do the Yankees have to give up? Not sure amoun the money but there is a cap on cash considerations.

Honel, Borchard and Lee for Garcia

Diaz or Grilli could be called up in a few days
Harry Chappas replied to CSF's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree with the post that if it is Grilli, it is a short term thing with a trade in the works. Although Diaz being held back makes me think it will be him. Ah, I don't know I just hope whoever it is, they get the job done and pitch Thursday and not against the Twins. -
Guarantees and the response the media gives to them are the stupidist thing in journalism. I guarantee we win, if you don't, well I will never believe a guarantee you make again. Just plain stupid. Thank Broadway Joe for the pub they get.

The twins just played in seattle and now oakland do they get a cup of coffee in the garbage bag then come here. Sets up nicly at least.

Did he have a hand injury or drilled in ribs???

Thanks for the update but minor league success is minor.

KW going after Freddy Garcia again...
Harry Chappas replied to RudyLawRules's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Mitre is another overhyped cub prospect along the lines of many other. If Reed, Honel, or now Diaz were with the cub they would have stories on the back page of the weekly cub update in the trib. -
I never heard of it either, great term.
-
He hasn't played well enough to get a free pass. There was no way he should have swung at the pitch he struck out on, actually the last two. We were winning without him.
-
Can Rauch be sent back down if he does not cut it? I think he would be the first guy because he has experience and there would be no debut nerves. If he is out of options though they be reluctant if he were not the clear choice.
-
As a favor to his godfather (Tommy Lasorda.) Wasn't Don Mattingly like in the 23rd round or something like that.
-
Based on our record I do not think anything will be done unless it is to get a top end of the rotation pitcher. We have options as we missed our shortstop for 12 games and went 9-6 not too bad.
