Spinoff of the 3 Team Rumor
I think it could be time to blow this team up. While sitting at the game yesterday they had a stat that told the whole story. In the last five years 3 times the leading RBI man for the Twins was under 100. In the two years where the leader was over 100, they had 103 and 105. Jacque Jones career high is 88. Yet they consistently win and kick our ass because they have great defense and play smart. The stupidity of last eve showed me that nothing will change with this team and every single player should be offered up. The lack of execution is astounding. Oh and I will be at my 10th game tonight, I need to seek professional help.

Proposed trade from the Southtown
Wouldn't Beane covet Jeremy Reed?

Diaz Could Be a Closer
For example Kyle Farnsworth

BBTN Jeff Brantley on Koch
He is getting ahead of hitters and nobody is hitting him hard. The ball Crede dropped I beleive is the third time an infielder (Harris twice) dropped a double play ball after KOch ahd walked a hitter. If he was getting hit like he and Rick White were last year I would be cautious. He makes you nervous but is getting it done.

DIAZ SUCKS ALSO
First off what are the O's ranked in hitting? Second, he throws strikes. Add one and two plus his debut and you get your answer as to what happened to Felix. The guy looked good and got beat by some decent talent. Also the O's had scored one run going into that game, the law of averages says they would have hit eventually. Overall he did fine and is worthy of the fifth spot for now.

Marky Mark earning that money
I hope the Sox realize that with a true 5 man rotation guys will be stronger than throwing every fifth day and skipping starts. Last week with 3 days rest he was pounded, yesterday with 5 days rest he was lights out. Now all we need is a 5th starter and let him throw every 5th day.

Moronotti
The outfield fight reference was unneccessary and the remainder sounds like a thread from a day or two back on this site. They talked about a fight on the radio in the 5th and man was the crowd loud but Jay.....well he is an asshole.

Anyone get ESPN insider?
Who do the Yankees have to give up? Not sure amoun the money but there is a cap on cash considerations.

Anyone get ESPN insider?
Honel, Borchard and Lee for Garcia

Diaz or Grilli could be called up in a few days
I agree with the post that if it is Grilli, it is a short term thing with a trade in the works. Although Diaz being held back makes me think it will be him. Ah, I don't know I just hope whoever it is, they get the job done and pitch Thursday and not against the Twins.

Visiting an old friend
Guarantees and the response the media gives to them are the stupidist thing in journalism. I guarantee we win, if you don't, well I will never believe a guarantee you make again. Just plain stupid. Thank Broadway Joe for the pub they get.

Twins/Athletics
The twins just played in seattle and now oakland do they get a cup of coffee in the garbage bag then come here. Sets up nicly at least.

New No. 5 spot
Did he have a hand injury or drilled in ribs???

Ex Sox Minor Leaguers
Thanks for the update but minor league success is minor.

KW going after Freddy Garcia again...
Mitre is another overhyped cub prospect along the lines of many other. If Reed, Honel, or now Diaz were with the cub they would have stories on the back page of the weekly cub update in the trib.

Manuel was right about Jon?
I never heard of it either, great term.

The official Manos sucks thread
He hasn't played well enough to get a free pass. There was no way he should have swung at the pitch he struck out on, actually the last two. We were winning without him.

New No. 5 spot
Can Rauch be sent back down if he does not cut it? I think he would be the first guy because he has experience and there would be no debut nerves. If he is out of options though they be reluctant if he were not the clear choice.

Draft and Talent
As a favor to his godfather (Tommy Lasorda.) Wasn't Don Mattingly like in the 23rd round or something like that.

Center Field
Based on our record I do not think anything will be done unless it is to get a top end of the rotation pitcher. We have options as we missed our shortstop for 12 games and went 9-6 not too bad.

There was a shooting at the Cubby Bear:
I was listeinignt o WSCR on teh drive in and it was kind of weird. I listened for about and hour and they turned the conversation into pedestrains neglecting the Walk / Don't Walk sign. They did not condone the actions but they were somewhat trying to explain a logical rationale. I really do not like either of them and think thier show is terrible but I wanted to hear what happened. It was strange.

MLB Draft Order: Sox draw 18th
The short of it is I think Ananheim had a bad enough record that we couldn't get that high of a pick and Quantrill was better than Gordon. Doesn't something carry over into next years draft???? I think the Sox should go with what the Bears did, grab as many college guys as they can get unless a Sweeney type is out there.

KW going after Freddy Garcia again...
I think it could be something like Lee, Wunsch and Felix Diaz for Garcia. Soriano won't be going anywhere. Seattle is in the drivers seat and they have money to spend, remember they saved $10M with the reliever, I forget his name leaving. If Soraino is in the mix I wouldn't be surprised if Takatsu is given up as Seattle has some Japanese players. Freddy Garcia would put us in the drivers seat and again in the elite teams in the Amreican League. If the Ordonez resigning is not working out, what makes you think he would not be in a package for Garcia, Winn and some young arm. Would Ordonez for Winn, Garcia, and Soraino/Pinerio make any sense???? Assuming we could talk to Garcia about a contract extension. If Garcia long-term is not an option I think he could be had for Borchard and a pitcher (Diaz, Pachero, Banj.)

Random Notes
Aren't we tied for the best record in baseball??? Uribe is the only guy playing over his head and he may just be this good. He had some background to say he could be. Koch has four saves in the five days. No matter what, he came in with a save on the line and he earned it. He has thrown a ton of pitches and has not been hit hard. Last year he was giving up homers, this year, he is not. He is throwing the ball past people and I think in the end our bullpen will be one of the best in the bigs. If Koch is getting squeezed which it looked like he was last night and Monday, he will struggle. I thought there were pitches to Palmeiro that looked good. I think we have the best bullpen we have had in a while. There is nobody out there that is unrealiable. Right now, Valentin looks like a stud on the bench as the LH bat for late in the game. The White Sox need to see if Harris, Uribe and Crede have a future here. We know what Valentin can do but he wasn't doing it and he had hamstring problems a couple of years back so what makes you think he is 100% the rest of the way. His AAA numbers do not warrant a spot in the lineup. I am not sure about Willie leading off but at the 9 slot, I like him.

The Juan Uribe naysayers:
He is not overrated but he has three of the top pitchers in the American League. If he was a genius or even a great GM he would have gotten out of the first round of the playoffs by now. His teams will beat mediocore teams to death and lose to comparable or weaker teams in the playoffs. Didn't his team lose to the Twins a couple of years back? He has three guys that would be our number one, it is much easier to lose guys like Tejada, Giambi and Foulke when you have Mulder, Zito and Hudson. I think anyone that agrees to have a book written about how great they are has a bit of little mans disease.
