  1. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) And whats more unreal is that we traded away our other CF options, and now we have BA, and no one else remotely close to being ready. Slick fielding CFers that can handle the bat well, young, and still cheap aren't exactly plentiful. I really hope Ozzie gets his head out of his ass and drops whatever beef he has against BA before we end up with no one to play CF except washed up veterans(see:Darin Erstad). Don't hold your breath.
  2. I feel sorry for Danks. He's pitched much better than anyone can expect of a rookie 5th starter, and the offense can't give him any sort of run support.
  3. Glad to see that the Sox can capitalize when it matters most at the plate.
  4. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) You say that now, but sometimes you have no control of what you will do when you are drunk. And no, I do not know him personally, or do I know anyone who does know him. I just like to think he joined the force as a way to help the community, in the first place at least. Then your ass should be locked up so you don't get drunk and beat women. I can't believe you're making excuses for this guy and saying "its not so bad!" He attacked a woman half his size and tried pummeling the s*** out of her. Luckily, he was drunk and couldn't connect well enough to break her face. But he sure as hell wanted to.

    QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) us.imdb.com: Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is planning to re-release Grindhouse as two separate films - after the double-bill flopped at the box office. The film, a double-feature directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez made just $11.6 million in its opening weekend in the US. Producer Weinstein is disappointed - and thinks Tarantino's Death Proof, starring Kurt Russell, and Rodriguez' Planet Terror, with Rose McGowan, will perform better on their own. He tells PageSix.com, "I don't think people understood what we were doing. The audience didn't get the idea that it is two movies for the price of one. I don't understand the math, but I want to accommodate the audience." Bad idea, IMO. I didn't understand it as two movies for a while after the advertising and promotion began. They did a really poor job conveying that clearly. Anyone else going to see ATHF:MFFT this weekend?
  8. Maybe it was supposed to be Niger Brown?

    QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 12:05 PM) Remember Ben said he was born on the island and not many could say that... So what has been affecting women wasn't a original problem with the island. Unless he was just lying. Again.
  10. Small sample sizes and no control means that you can't really say for sure one way or the other.
  11. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) Eh, they weren't exactly stellar in spring training either... I'm not about to give Ozzie that much credit either but at least he was proactive. Agreed. He did the right thing there and it probably did help. You just can't just say that his rant made them pitch better and give him all of the credit for the "turn around" after Contreras had mental distractions and Buerhle got injured early.
  12. "Oh s***, Ozzie's pissed! I better pitch better or he'll yell at me! Good thing I wasn't trying before, so now that he's yelled at me I can 'turn it on'!"
  13. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 10:37 AM) Oh my bad, I heard it was divorce papers That was an unsubstantiated rumor floating around.
  14. They just don't care any more. They know that no one is going to by this BS excuse, but they just don't care.
  15. RIP. My girlfriend has had Slaughterhouse 5 sitting on the headboard for a while. Maybe I'll crack it open this weekend.
  16. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) lol the best part is that Imus is the top news story for what he said. oh yes, this is BIG NEWS! weee! Echoes my brief thoughts on the subject. People who b**** about the media being biased need to focus on the more important issue: The media is just incompetent.

    QUOTE(SouthSide2004 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:41 PM) They kind of gave away the ending halfway through the episdoe by naming the airport they took Juliet to "Herarat Aviation". I didn't even pay attention to that, oops! What do you think she is there to do? They already know everything they could want about the people on the beach. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:10 PM) Somewhat disappointing. The previews hyped Sayid threatening Juliet for answers and she doesn't end up telling them a thing. "She'll tell us when she's ready." GMAFB, Jack. They've already made Jack out to just be a huge tool. I really don't give two s***s about him or Kate any more. They just continually act like morons for no reason. I know it would make for a boring show, but if I were on that island with all this weird stuff going down, I'd be bugging her for answers non-stop. No one ever seems to want to ask anything. Or, when they do, they quickly get diverted.
  18. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) I don't understamd why Contreras couldn't have came to America w/ his family also... You would think that Contreras would only agree to a contract w/ the Yankees if he could get his family could come with. I hate Cuba. He probably figured that he had a much better shot of getting them over here if he was making some big bucks in MLB first.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) I was talking defensively, actually. Erstad > Anderson. Thanks for the laugh!

    I thought the episode was average for a Lost episode (which is still damn good) until the last 5 minutes. Wow. Fantastic ending. Haven't had one like that in quite a while.
  21. 1-hit shutout. Eat it, ESPN and your manlove with Dice-K.
  22. I just watched him K Ichiro on an excellent series of pitches. I wish he played for someone other than Boston as ESPN's manlove is just over the top.
  23. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:20 PM) BA saved one run today, but he looked simply miserable at the plate. Good thing we're arguing about Ozzie's decision to never use him as a defensive sub late in the game then, huh?
  24. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) What's Bobby's velocity like? Low 90's on the Comcast gun.
