  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 22, 2014 -> 10:31 AM) The part about the forensics not matching someone with his hands up in the air, palms towards the shooter? Maybe that was reported in the med. examiner's report, I don't remember. The initial one had it as indeterminate. Like I said above, though, Wilson (through 'sources') says that he shot Michael in the hand at close range during the initial struggle. So the wound to his hand doesn't say anything about what happened after he ran. What the forensics can't tell you, as far as I understand it, is the order of the wounds. It's just as plausible that he was raising his hands or in the process of raising his hands, Wilson shot him again, and then he dropped his hands as a reaction to that. Or, again, going by the 'sources' Wilson account, Wilson claims that Michael had one arm to his chest and one arm out to the side. The autopsy reports really just don't rule out a number of plausible scenarios, both good and bad for Wilson. On the balance, I have to imagine that's good for Wilson since the state needs to prove the plausibility of his guilt to the GJ, and indeterminate evidence doesn't help them.
  4. Not seeing that: I don't think either side disputes a struggle in the car, so that's nothing new. What's meant by "relatively short range" is critical, but Wilson's story is that he fired two shots during the struggle and believes he hit Michael in the hand before he turned and ran. I don't think that shots during the initial struggle was disputed, so this supports Wilson's story up to this point but it doesn't provide justification for what happened after Michael ran. Same story for the last part. Brown being shot in the head while falling forward or lunging is consistent with both sides. That conclusion can just as easily support falling forward due to several gun shots as it supports him running at Wilson head first. edit: I really don't see any new information here at all, or anything that differs from the first autopsy done a couple of months ago.
  5. Electioneering laws have nothing to do with the constitution but keep on raging. edit: and linking to the dumbest man on the internet, Jim Hoft
  6. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 07:09 PM) No I understand that the Dems are scumbag assholes who steal elections and have been for sixty years. Totally ok to tell someone to vote Democratic. Can't say anything ....may be a racist....shhhhh She is probably getting a paid day off work to break the law...maybe even a raise.... Voter fraud does not exist....voter fraud does not exist.....voter fraud does not exist....voter fraud does not exist... lol
  7. Most-points-for and most-points-against makes for a 4-3 team. Sigh.
  8. A lot of the older e-sign devices don't even work anymore. All you can do is scribble a big blob because the screen is so worn out.
  9. yeah. that he has a medical background just makes things worse. Even his dad thinks he's full of it:
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 11:17 AM) I wouldn't be surprised if in 5-10 years that is pretty common place in the work environment. I'd take one although I'd also want a regular desk in my office too. There are motorized desks that allow you to raise or lower them at the push of a button.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) The lack of financial resources is exactly why it's so easy to challenge the clause. The cost of JJ paying their attorneys to go after you is more than you have to lose. Just ignore the clause and leave for another job if you want to. The company isn't going to go after you. You don't have enough money to be worth their effort. So then why does JJ have this clause if they don't think it's beneficial? They paid their lawyers to draft it at some point. edit: Non-competes aren't about blocking you as an individual as much as they are about preventing competitors from getting you, generally speaking. If they can prevent anyone who works at a JJ from working at a Subway, Quiznos, Pot Belly, etc. for two years, it makes their own workforce that much less mobile and that much harder for competitors to hire people. And just the threat of possible legal action can be enough to dissuade a substantial number of people.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 09:21 AM) Except sometimes the threat to enforce is enough to threaten employment. Yeah, it's more about the chilling effect than actual legal enforcement.
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 06:32 AM) I read the link and still don't get it. It was just bunch of stupid tweets trying to be clever/funny. It's running on the same theme that Ta-Nehisi Coates addresses here: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archiv...ologies/359841/ When a group of black people do something, such as the discord in Ferguson, a lot of people including our media is quick to lump all black people together, talk about "black culture" etc. When a bunch of white people riot over pumpkins or the removal of a coach of a football team for covering up decades of child sexual abuse, these same sorts of things don't get said. Those tweets were saying what was said about Ferguson more or less verbatim, just swapping black for white and Ferguson for Keene.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 08:33 PM) Didn't the Bears do that a few years back but it was called back on a fantom holding call? Yes.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 04:05 PM) What is your point in posting this? And why does this have anything to do with Ferguson? Perhaps you can read the link to find out!
  16. Whites riot over pumpkins in NH and Twitter turns it into epic lesson about Ferguson
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 19, 2014 -> 12:34 PM) I see this is that game where we all go "haha this team sucks hardcore"
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 12:30 PM) edit: oh and we're going to Shenandoah for a couple of days next weekend. That'll make 6 NP's and one NM this year. Ended up replanning this trip entirely due to weather. We drove down to southern Illinois and then spent Saturday in Shawnee National Forest. Sunday we drove over to Mammoth Cave NP, then stayed the night in Louisville. Kentucky, or at least that area of it, was a lot nicer than I expected and way less run down than the parts of southern Illinois we were in.
  19. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 17, 2014 -> 12:09 PM) corrupt shill doctors that provide bogus testimony on their behalf are up there. True, this guy is little different than the guys who swore up and down that tobacco was perfectly safe, that lead was perfectly safe, etc.
  20. Oh I thought I copied that part, John Hopkins suspended this program late last year due to mounting pressure.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 17, 2014 -> 12:16 PM) I clearly don't know enough about cats...but if you put it inside and leave it there, isn't it now magically an "inside cat"? Is it outside all winter in below zero temps? Someone's letting it outside, no? Is it possible to have an electric fence or a leash on it or something? I don't think the answer is "well, it can do whatever it wants, it's an outdoor cat." If it's a strictly outdoor cat, then it typically just does whatever the hell it wants. It's basically just a domesticated wild animal at that point that hangs around a certain house because that house feeds it. Feral cats survive outdoors all winter long along with squirrels, foxes, rabbits, etc. so it doesn't necessarily have to be coming inside at all. There's one cat that roams our neighborhood that has left some poop in our yard once or twice. I'm also pretty sure it was living in the old, dilapidated shed on our yard before we tore it down. Our cats are both strictly indoor cats because "outdoor" cats cause all sorts of s***ty problems for neighbors and wildlife, plus they run a much bigger chance of getting killed, hurt or sick.
  22. LAST BREATH When a coal miner’s lungs finally gave out, his autopsy proved a top doctor was wrong — giving hope to thousands of other miners. The story of Steve Day and his final vindication. It's hard to think of a group worse than coal mine owners.
  23. If it's an outside cat, I'm not sure there's much you can do about it. Cats will pretty much just do what they want.
