  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 21, 2012 -> 11:33 AM) union park protester this morning: "Why are you guys protesting Boeing's empty building?" "They are an evil corporation aimed at hurting innocent people" blah blah blah "Are you from the chicago area, are you a local?" "Nah I flew in from out of town" They made sure they flew airbus! Boeing is a huge military contractor, though.
  2. I think I was the only one who said that violent protests may *possibly* be justified in some circumstances. This wouldn't be one of them.
  3. My mom has one and likes it but I've never used it.
  4. A couple of Congressmen are trying to lift the ban that bars government propaganda from being used on US citizens. A somewhat related article digging into all of the FBI's terrorism "busts" of their own plots, why they're getting the wrong people and not focusing on the right people.
  5. Decimating the world's sea life: I really wonder how much longer commercial fishing is going to be viable. The spawning stocks of many species are decimated and can't recover as long as we keep fishing. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-k...cIBbU_blog.html
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 21, 2012 -> 09:02 AM) BE QUIET AND PAY YOUR RESPECTS FOR TEH END OF PAUL KONERKO!!! RIP Paulie, you were taken from us far too young.
  7. FWIW libertarians typically aren't fans of unions but they aren't fans against right-to-work states, either, because it's statist intervention to limit the free-contracting ability of workers and capital.

  10. Fb is avoiding paying $16 billion in taxes by deducting stock option costs. This will be the largest such deduction ever taken.
  11. I'm using Milorganite fertilizer this year. It's derived from Milwaukee's wastewater treatment facilities. The nitrogen is slow-release so there's less run-off (huge problem for waterways) and lasts longer, plus there's little or no salt unlike a lot of chemical fertilizers. Safe for food crops, too, so you can use it in the garden. It also works as a deer repellent if you have that problem.
  12. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 18, 2012 -> 10:58 PM) Dirty diapers go directly outside into the bin. There's been a lot lately. what vaginas are you around that smell like festering dirty diapers??
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 18, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) Arent trading floors dead due to the spread of globex and the lack of advantage of floor trading? Why are people ignoring this? I mean back in the 80s floor traders had a huge edge, they would get at least a tick, by the end of the 90s it was a half tick edge. Thats a huge difference and saying something about 2006 is after the floors already were pretty dead. A huge bulk of the trading volume are algorithms running on computers for fractional price changes in microseconds.
  14. It's also data from the St.Louis fed, but i guess some old anecdotes are more valuable.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) That doesn't matter, it is what he read on-line that is reality! This is rich coming from you.
  16. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 18, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) Sheeple = you wonderful people who will ultimately vote for Barack Obama blindly because you don't give a damn where the country goes as long as everyone is "equal" and the marxist/socialistic reforms that are gradually making us more like Europe every day continues. You know, "for the little people". Your freedoms are being taken from you every day, yet you want more of it. There you go, sheeple. If the shoe fits, wear it. If not, go back to blindly giving away your life to your government, you know, for fairness and all. Ps i didn't say what word i meant in that other post!
  17. QUOTE (Cknolls @ May 18, 2012 -> 09:27 PM) Are you seriously going to say he is wrong. Ask the Fed what they holding as collateral. I am sure they will forthcoming. They purchased 90% of treasuries since they put The Chubbster into play. Any year now...
  18. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 18, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) Well, it is interesting how his own "Kenyan born" self just now comes out of the wood work. If this guy had an ® behind his name, he'd have every line of coke molecule uncovered. But you see, he's what people want him to be at the time. And you sheeple love it. I don't think you know what that word means.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 18, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) Arizona's Secretary of State goes birther, requests confirmation of President Obama's birth from the State of Hawaii in response to email requests from his constituents, adds threat to keep him off of the ballot in November. Hawaii's response is awesome.
