QUOTE(joemg311 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 04:34 AM) I usually take the train and the redline to get to my games but me and some of my friends were thinking about driving there and doing some tailgating for opening day. I dont know my way around there too well so any help would be appriciated. I'm comming from the nw suburbs. whats the best way to get to the cell and the best place to park and tailgate if i'm gonna go super early? also do they let you in early to watch bp? If you are leaving early enough you should have no problem taking 294 South to the Kennedy towards chicago. then take 94 towards Indiana. Stay in the local lanes and take either the 31st street or the 35th street exit. Take that rd past the Cell to 37th and make a right. This will lead you to lot E where most people like to tailgate. If you are there a few hours before game time you should have no traffic problems. They do let you into the game for BP I think 2 hours before hand, but you won't have much of a tailgate if you are planning on watching BP. Also, with the weather unpredictable they may not even have BP.

Steff, let me ask you. What is the best time to go down to the park for a good tailgating spot on opening day? Usually we have just had a pre-party at the house and then jumped on the "L", but this year we are doing it right. I want to get a good spot in Lot E

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) I have been bidding $50 every few days for a couple of weeks now, and haven't been able to get one. I wonder if I got it because I reserved 4 rooms at once

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) If we can find a cheap room, we will stay, if not we are heading back that night. What do you consider cheap? Have you tried priceline? $50 for the Hyatt Regency and that was the first try. You might be able to get it cheaper.

QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) In the Phister lobby. If the woman is down, I will try and meet some of you for a beer or 10 there.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) We'll see you all in Milwaukee Friday nite though. Where is the post game party going to be?

I was just looking through the latest pictures of this years renovations and noticed that the Club level has been completed with the green seats. Anyone know if/when they are going to put the old blue ones up for sale?

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 04:49 AM) If it's in the middle of the Illinois game, I vote that it be moved to Saturday. I prefer Sunday's myself. Either way. I will try and be there whenever it is.

"She was fifteen years old, going on thirty-five, Doc, and she told me she was eighteen, she was very willing, I practically had to take to sewing my pants shut. Between you and me, uh, she might have been fifteen, but when you get that little red beaver right up there in front of you, I don't think it's crazy at all and I don't think you do either. No man alive could resist that, and that's why I got into jail to begin with. " R.P. McMurphy-One Flew Over the Cukoos Nest

QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) I believe it is illegal to post the entire article from insider. You can rephrase it though. Your probably right. I wasn't really thinking when i posted it. I have no problem with a moderator completely pulling that post off. Sorry if I caused any trouble for Soxtalk!

Anyone know of a good place with updated spring stats?

Kotex Boy will write an article about how the Sox were stupid to schedule Opening Day on NCAA Championship day. Just like the Soxfest/Superbowl deal from a coupkle of years ago.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Instead you could hold the 4 pick, take a WR and trade the 2nd for Edge. Now that's an offense. Agreed. They are going to talk about it on Silvy and Carmen. I'll try to post a recap if I can.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Colts have said they don't require a 1st rounder. Really? That's nice. If the Bears do trade for him then they can take a WR with the 4 and the offense will be looking pretty sweet.
-
Just heard a tease on AM1000 that there are whispers about the Bears trading for Edge. I would guess the #4 and a D player.
-
When do they give you access to the game? How soon before hand? If I am in a local blackout area, does that include ST games?

QUOTE(homerball @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) espn.com says the game is delayed The radio said the Umpires didn't show up on time. that was the reason for the delay.

Sounds like he is a happy guy right now. Was joking about his sisters that are close to 300 pounds and their not on steroids. Funny stuff.
-
I would say they need 90-94 wins.

Just said on ESPN 1000 that Frank looks great and went immediately into the weight room to start training. Hopefully he is on the fast road to return to the line up.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) The only club I know of in MIL is the Eagles Ballroom/The Rave. Two clubs in the same building, one smaller capacity, the other obviously larger. They host a lot of metal/alternative/emo/punk stuff. Last time I was there was for the Wildhearts, opening for the Darkness. The same night they had Ben Kweller ( I think that's his name ) in the Rave. Not sure of the proximity to the ballpark, though. Edited to add that so far the only show listed for April 2nd is Dark Star Orchestra, an 8pm show. I didn't check ticket prices, sorry. I've spent a lot of time up there and the Rave is the only place I ever went to for shows. http://www.therave.com/calendar.asp Looks like Dark Star is playing on the 2nd. They are a Greatful Dead coverband. Last time I saw them they did an encore that consisted of the entire Dark Side of the Moon album by Pink Floyd.
