Seems that the Sox still have a little money to play with if they are truly going to have a payroll in the 72-75 million range. I would think if they reaaly wanted Iguchi they would maybe bump up their offer a million or so.

I wouldn't get too excited about the Sox signing this guy. They offered him 2 million per year and the guy is seeking over 6 million a year. He'll probably sign for less, but not anywhere near the measly 2 million JR would give up.

I don't understand why any player would want to play for Tampa Bay. The stadium is a dump. The fans don't come out to the games at all. St. Pete's is a ghost town.

The guy hit .207 last season. He only hit .231 with the Sox. He was bad and nobody that hits that bad deserves 1 million. Bad signing. Who are we kidding about getting AJP? This is a classic Sox go on the cheap move. The only thing that would make this understandable is if a starting pitcher worth a s*** is signed.

I really don't understand why you re-up with this guy. He had a short stretch where he hit decent, but overall this guys whole career has been bad. I doubt they get Pierzynski now.

Prospects are prospects until proven otherwise. If you can trade a guy who might be good for someone who IS good, you do it. I hate prospects. Especially White Sox prospects...
