As much as I hate Mariotti, I enjoy listening to his show on 1000 and was happy when they dumped Rome and added an hour. I listen to sports radio all day long with a little Mancow on the drive in to work. I could care less about them making money as long as I am being entertained. Without Mariotti, Boers and Bernstein, Dan Patrick, Mike and Mike, and of course Mac, Jurko, and Harry, my day would drag on forever. Mike North sucks, and always has sucked. He is good when he interviews someone, but once you get to his prejudice opinions, he is ridiculous.

When does the season tip off? I'm sure there are a ton of different teams people on here root for. All I have to say is GO ILLINI!

C'mon now. The bears may suck again this year, but the NFL is a great league and fun to watch. College basketball is one of the most exciting sports out there. Nothing like a big upset. College football is entertaining Hockey was boring until the playoff anyway. and who doesn't love the Pro Bowl?

I don't know exactly what the story is, but it sounds like Steve Stone made some comments about Dusty Baker and now Baker and Cub management is pissed off at him. Maybe the Sox can dump DJ and sign Stone for the booth. That would be a big improvement.

A trade for Kitna would be great. He was awesome last year.

It ended a while ago. I hate to give up on them, but it is extremely obvious that the White Sox, as they are comprised right now, are not a playoff contender. Bring up some more young guys and give them a taste. Trim the fat during the offseason, and come back ready to give it another mediocre run next season. Go Bears!

Don't know if this has been brought up, but Bruce Levine said the Rockies offered the Sox Preston Wilson but they declined because of his big contract.

I was just about to post this myself. This team begs for more people to come out to games and support them and this is what they give us in return. I'm sorry, but Jose Valentin's time in Chicago needs to end. He may be a great guy in the clubhouse and he might hit a HR every now and then, but he chokes in the big games. If the tickets you have are Season Tickets and not the regular ticketmaster tickets, then you can go to the lower concourse. Otherwise you are stuck in the UD for the whole game.

I just called AM 1000 and asked if they are going to replay the KW interview and they said they will play a chunk of it at around 5:40. For those who missed it.

Harry did say if he ever wanted to come on the show and talk Randy Johnson he was welcome to and KW sounded a little nervous about the question and said he would get in trouble if he talked about that.

Let's not get crazy here. If he takes care of it right this time he can come back for the final couple of weeks fresh and ready to carry this team to the WS. How sweet will it be to get into mid September against Minny and have Thomas and Maggs back in the line up on top of whatever KW does in the mean time.

So why not Kendall? He is a high average hitter and is a catcher. 2 birds, one stone.

I honestly don't feel that bad about this. Sure it sucks, but the Sox are playing fine right now and that was with an unproduictive Magglio and without Frank. I am confident that KW will make the right move to help keep the offense strong. Don't sweat it. They will be fine.

Should be some huge crowds all weekend and all 3 against the Twins next week. If the Sox really start to play well and KW makes another good move the attendance is going to explode.

The Cub haven't exactly been lovable lately. They remind me of a 2 year old kid who wants something at the store, but mom won't let him get it.

The Twins will go away when we sweep the Tigers out of Chicago and do the same to the Twins next week.

I've got a patio party on Saturday with my bowling league and I got some tickets 20 rows behind the 1st base dugout from work for Sunday's game. I might go on Monday as well.

Someone mentioned it in another thread and I am starting to like it: Trade with D-Backs: Sox get Mayne and Hillenbrand Sox trade Crede and whatever else it takes to complete the deal. PLEASE GET RID OF DAVIS.
