Happy Birthday ChiSoxFan
Thanks everybody. Now, as a perfect birthday wish, Carlos Beltran announces he fires Scott Boras as his agent and signs with the White Sox because of the unwavering dedication of the fans.

Any info on Danny Wright?
Get real, YASNY. You know damn well that DW's gonna fire his agent, secretly have that elbow surgery in Austria, and showcase his talent for other teams next December.

Well, that didn't last long in Arizona
According to the Score, the D-Backs fired Backman after 4 days. Guess that rap sheet turned them off.

Spurrier won't be back on the sidelines in Fla
Just heard it on the Score. Spurrier has withdrawn his name for the job.

Michigan-Michigan St. football game
The Wolverines pull it out after 3 OT's 45-37. Spartans were never the same once Stanton went down.

Michigan-Michigan St. football game
MSU had a 27-10 lead with about 7 minutes to go in the Big House. 2 Braylon Edwards TD grabs & a FG later, it's all knotted at 27. Edwards looked like Moss on both of his grabs.

Great KW Quote on Mags
Well, why don't we add mental well being to that as well. Case in point, your screen name. I wonder how Jon would feel seeing that.

What's your Favorite Fan Chant in Sports?
BEAT L.A! BEAT L.A! BEAT L.A! A favorite of opposing team's fans playing the Lakers.

Keith Foulke
I'm happy for any ex-Sox player who makes it to the Series, but I hope people don't start villifying KW for making the trade again. What's done is done.

Redandwhite: Your boys finally made it
Even though some BoSox fans act too "Cub-like" at times, watching the Red Sox celebrate showed how hungry they were for this chance. Congrats on your team winning the pennant and good luck in the Series.

Free Agents
Cheat, your list is good for everyone except Wells. His remarks about Frank's injury in 2001 turned me off to him (that, and the fact he may not even provide 3/4 of a season). The only good part about his brief tenure in Chicago was that he was somewhat of a good influence on Buerhle.

Brewers declined option for Craig Counsell
Just saw on ESPN2 that Counsell won't be back in Milwaukee next year. Might not be a bad pickup for next year, not as a starter, but could be another good lefty bat off the bench.

Frank Thomas-Will he make the HOF?
I stand corrected. It was 11 100 RBI seasons that Al Simmons had.
-
Maggs gone-100%
I'd have to reluctantly say no. The relationship between Mags and this organization has been damaged beyond repair & with Mags hiring Scott Boras, who's considered nothing short of a pariah by Sox fans, that relationship would never be the same. I'd rather see Borchard struggle to get it together and continue to follow the progress of Anderson & Sweeney in the minors. Good luck wherever you head Mags. 'Cause I don't see the Southside of Chicago as a viable option anymore.

Frank Thomas-Will he make the HOF?
Actually, the other guy to do the 20 HR/100RBI/100BB/100 RS was Al Simmons, who did it 11 yrs in a row.

Maggs gone-100%
Dude, who else was out there? The great Sidney Ponson? The only other 2 pitchers worth of merit were Andy Pettitte and Greg Maddux. The Astros & Yankees got into that bidding war only, and Pettitte quickly narrowed his choice to those 2, & you knew there was no way the Cubs were gonna make the same mistake twice of losing Maddux unless the Yankees put a Brinks-truckload of cash at the Maddux doorstep. Outside of that, it was slim pickings. This year's group (Pedro, Pavano, Clement, Ortiz) is a little bit better.

Final Word on the Sox

Frank Thomas-Will he make the HOF?
'kay, I'll give it a shot. 439 HOME RUNS, 1439 RBI'S IN OVER 14 SEASONS. 1308 RUNS SCORED. 2 TIME MVP AWARD WINNER (1993 & 1994). .308 CAREER BATTING WITH A1997 AL BATTING AVERAGE CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A .347 BA. 2113 CAREER HITS AND 444 CAREER DOUBLES. .800 CAREER BA IN 5 ALL-STAR GAME APPEARANCES. ONE OF 2 PLAYERS TO EVER HAVE AT LEAST 8 CONSECUTIVE SEASONS OF 20 HR, 100 RBI'S, 100 BB, & 100 RUNS SCORED. Not my best effort, but I tried.
