QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 12:51 AM) From delusion lead me to truth. From darkness lead me to light. From death...leadme to eternal life. Soxtalk, I solomly swear that i will no longer jerk off in public with the possums and racoons/ Oh my.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) This reminded me I need to practice...playing in a tournament Saturday. Thing I hate most about my golf game: Have good short game with chipping, terrible long game. Suddenly, 300 yard drives, horrible chipping. Putting remains awesome. Why can I not have to good game aspects Yeah, that is golf...it never comes together all at one. I want yellow pants and sweet cardigans like Graeme McDowell. Good luck!
  3. Hope you enjoyed your day!
  4. Wow, a 10-page game winner thread. I like it boys, I like it! Keep it rolling! Gavin! Paulie!
  5. Warm day out there today. One of those courses with 3 different 9's. The first 9 we played was very tight and treacherous. I played very well that 9. Then the second 9 was a more open and traditional type of 9, and I drove the ball well but couldn't hit many solid shots on my approaches and didn't chip or putt well. Shot 87 with a 42-45. Could have been a much better day.
  6. Funny that Hawk hasn't said a word about the ump being wrong about calling Pierre out after he got a chance to see the replay between innings...
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) Stunning that this 7-8-9 didn't get a hit the first time up. I would love to hear the conversations Steve Stone has with his wife about Hawk
  8. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) Just upgraded to the iphone 4 from iphone 3g. Sweetness all over. For those of you who are asking whether they should get an iphone or a droid phone, consider this: The line at every apple store and everywhere else that sells the iphone is a mile long today. How many lines have you seen for ANY other phone before? Oh boy, you're opening a pandora's box with this one, my friend...
  9. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:12 PM) Let's hope Gallardo has it today vs. the Twinkies. Yeah, last time he faced them, he gave up 4 in the first before settling down... Hawk knows more about how well the National League players golf than they play baseball.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:06 PM) Reading some forums, people are seemingly upset about battery life. I'm also trying a number of tips they provided in the forums, and we'll see where we're at in a few days of making those changes. One cool feature on this phone is, it actually shows you what is eating the battery life. Oddly, the screen is only 8% of my total power consumption. 30%, highest number, is Android and its associated services. That's pretty neat, actually.
  11. Gavin was like "Please don't kick my ass, please don't kick my ass, Mr Heyward."
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:50 AM) So far, except for one thing, I like the phone, and the Droid OS. Problem is the battery. I turned the phone on at about 5:30am after charging fully overnight... and now I am getting a warning (at 1pm) saying the battery is at 14%. WTF? Seriously? If this is the way the battery is going to be, I am going to have to return the phone. I am hoping that over a few nights of charging the battery will improve. If not, I'm returning it. Running out of batter mid-afternoon is not acceptable. Needs to make it through a long single day, at LEAST. How hard are you on the phone, in terms of usage? Maybe you could adjust some settings to prolong the life a bit...lower the brightness, make it turn off more quickly once it becomes idle, etc. If you are indeed correct, and the battery is dying by lunchtime, a lot of customers are going to be upset. Say what you want about usage, but these smartphones are indeed made for the business person...
  13. Didn't know where else to post this, so I figured here was as good a place as any. I know we have some golfers here. You guys been getting out there at all this season? Teeing it up today at the Johnny Miller-designed Badlands course here in Vegas. It's going to be 105 out there, but for $19 bucks (including a cart), it's a hell of a course to play. Badlands Golf Course
  14. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) OOPS!!!! MY APOLOGIES!!! I was trying to find the image of Mauer holding up the picture of the two of them in Cabo
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:19 AM) I'm not even ALLOWED in Mexico. Then where did I get this? Dagnabit, Bren!
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:10 PM) He's played 161, 155 and 149 games before only playing 108 games last year. He isn't 35 years old Sqwert. Hell I found it odd Pierre missed a game this year (will probably miss another before it's up) and he is a friggin horse who plays every game. I will say however he is 0-10 against Lowe lifetime, so perhaps that is why he isn't in the line-up. Now how do you miss the sarcasm....
  17. Oh, I will add this though. The battery life of the iPhone4, with what little time I've had with it, does seem to last a little longer.
  18. It just depends how much you use them, as Rock said. If you are a constant web surfer or email checker, your battery is basically going to last one work day. 8-10 hours. If you're more of a casual user like me, and you just text, make a few phone calls, maybe check the weather, google a few things, check a sports score, check soxtalk.com, it will last for 1-2 full days. Just depends on what you do with it.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) I bet you there will be whispers on the internet of FatPrince to the Sox here in the next week or so. He makes alot of sense for both teams, we have some decent young players to trade. Yeah, absolutely. The Brewers need arms, and badly. They also could use a catcher, unless they have high hopes for Kottaras. Dayan could theoretically take over for Prince. I can see a Hudson/Flowers/Viciedo package being rumored.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) I will say up until the recent improved streak, he was as valuable as a high 600's OPS guy who doesn't play overwhelming defense could possibly be. As the Hawkeroo would say, "Don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit it."
  21. I can't believe either of them could even walk today, let alone play professional tennis.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) It really does feel that way right now. It's still a dumb lineup though. It's only dumb insomuch as Rios is out of the lineup, and we don't really know why. We do know he had a rough game yesterday and was uncharacteristically ejected. Who knows? Maybe he is banged up a little? Maybe he hasn't been getting much sleep with the new baby. I'm not going to make judgments based on information I don't have and the person making the decisions does.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:28 AM) Well I think Q has helped the team in the sense he's made a ton of outs with the bases empty and put up a lot of numbers with men on base, so that distribution is a plus. I don't think that's a skill though, I just think it's a fluke of good fortune that won't last. He just needs to be a good hitter in general and overall, and the good news is he's shown signs of that recently. My guess is you're probably right...I doubt he has developed some penchant to get hits when runners are on base but not when the bases are empty. But the bottom line is, he has done it up to this point, and he has been valuable to this team because of it. Does that mean he should be expected to continue to only hit well with runners on base? No. But the simple fact is that he has up until now, and that cannot be overlooked.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:28 AM) Exactly, I'm fine with sitting one starting player every game. But when you start having lineups that resemble split-squad games, you're just throwing away games. And spare me the "it worked on Saturday with Peavy". Sure, if Gavin goes out and throws a shut out, he could have 9 Gordon Beckhams in the lineup and still have a great chance to win. I really don't care what our lineup is right now. We're going to win.
