QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 05:59 PM) I'm not as bothered with the pick as I am trading 3 draft picks to move up one spot for a guy that wasn't gonna be drafted there. If Pace likes Trubisky that much, then I hope he's right, but he won't be GM anymore by the time that happens. Agreed 100%. If he pans out it'll be ok, but f***, get some stones and call their bluff

QUOTE (leeboy006 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 12:00 AM) I am an Australian White Sox fan who has planned a trip to America for 2 and a half weeks. I will be there between 18 May to 3 June and going to Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago and Detroit. I have found it difficult to find a group of fans that travel with the team. Are there any? Do they meet anywhere before or after games? Any help would be great. I would love to meet people while I am travelling! I think your best bet is get to the ballparks early and just look for other fans at the bars/restaurants. Whenever I went to road games, that is always how we met up with other fans...over a nice cold one!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 03:52 PM) We are increasing the value of so many pieces right now. I hope they all continue to look legit and then we can flip everyone. Need Frazier to get going. -
Pretty solid read on the havoc that higher renewable penetration is having on worldwide electric grids and energy markets. I blame Farmteam.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 06:57 AM) From a few weeks back, but that report on Well Fargo's sales tactics was pretty brutal http://www.marketwatch.com/story/10-shocki...ices-2017-04-10 I absolutely f***ing hate that bank. I had an issue with them about 5 years ago and refuse ever deal with them in any capacity again whatsoever. I even had a car dealer attempt to setup my financing with them, and I said I will take a higher rate to avoid dealing with them.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:20 PM) No hits for Davidson but some really good swings And no K's! Only 1 strikeout in his last 10 or 11 PAs. -
Small sample, but only 1 k in his last 9 PAs

Thank you, Chipotle.

So today I sold off my largest single position AAPL, as I am sensing some short-term downside risk in the near future... Looking for something to do with this cash.... What a crazy time to be an investor.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 08:09 AM) It did look like it would work. But he only had a 17% k rate and a low .200 Babip in March/April last year. But he wasn't walking anyone, and he had only a .7 WHIP. Then May came, suddenly all of that contact started finding holes. K% dropped to 14%, still didn't walk people, but BABIP jumped to .350 and it stayed around that level rest of year (though May was particularly hilarious line of .365/.396/.711 against him) It was that damn Texas game! Ruined the entire season!

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 06:52 AM) I think the difference is that Albers wasn't striking anyone out, and his stuff was mediocre. That hasn't applied to Swarzak (or Kahnle) this year so far. I dunno, I didn't think so...for the first few months of the season he had a nasty split finger or whatever the hell that s*** was...it would drop right off the table.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 07:14 AM) Surprisingly, when I emailed basically every dealer in the Chicago area, there was some price discounting going on. In the end we paid about 3k under MSRP for the purchase price, even though they had to bring it in from some distance. A few dealers said they couldn't get one (translation - didn't want to mess with trading with another dealer), but most came back with an offer of some kind. In fact the whole process with the dealer we bought from was surprisingly pleasant. Maybe I'm paranoid but I was expecting a lot of problems, but there really weren't any, and no pressure. I even remarked about that to the Finance guy, and he said nowadays, buyers have usually done most of the homework before they ever set foot in the dealership. So what's to gain from yanking on them? Just give them the info, because if they walk in the door, there's a high chance they will buy from you anyway. Very nice to hear! Enjoy the new wheels!

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 12:35 PM) Going to go finalize the purchase of our car tonight. 2017 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid, with the Tech Package. It will be very interesting to see how we do with the electric and mileage. In theory, this car gets 29 miles of electric-only, then goes to hybrid mode. My wife's round trip commute is about 28 miles, but they also have chargers at her parking lot. It should function like an electric car almost all the time for us, with her commute and some errands/kid stuff here and there. Might go months without getting gas. I'll report back here in a few months to let y'all know how it goes. These cars, by the way, are hard to obtain. When we went to purchase, there were only three Optima PHEV's in the entire Chicago area in stock, and only one was at our trim level (but not a color we wanted). They had to ship one from Ohio. Dealers say they get them in, but they can't keep them as they immediately fly off the lot. The plug-ins are about 4k more than the regular, but the tax rebate is almost 5k, so for the life of me I don't know why anyone would buy the regular hybrids. Sounds like a great option for you guys! I can't imagine you were able to negotiate much, but it sounds like you're getting exactly what you want, which is important.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 12:17 PM) I dont think they change until the 2018 model, maybe its the 2017. Its the '18 that is completely redesigned. The first generation had very subtle changes from year to year...nothing really significant.

UGGG. Back to the Jimmy and Dwayne show now...

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 08:34 AM) I went with a 2011, so definitely an older model. I looked at newer ones (online at least) but the price was right on this one and there wasn't a big difference in styling between them. Nice Russ! Congrats! I had a 2012 for a bit, and you are right, they didn't change much...enjoy! Picture!

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 11:41 PM) Ooh, where are you going in Switzerland? I was there a few years ago. I think we just used ATMs, but I'm not sure. My wife will remember, but she's sleeping now. A town called Lugano. In other news, the wife made us buy luggage for our vacation yesterday. I feel like that was half the money I wanted to spend on the whole trip

Heading to Monte Carlo/France/Switzerland in a few weeks. How do you guys feel about accessing currency? Best to get money to leaving the states? In Europe? At European ATMs? What about setting up phones, credit cards, etc? Any advice?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 06:10 AM) I've only been to Reno a couple of times and the city itself didn't leave a great impression, but you'd have Lake Tahoe and the Sierras in your backyard. SS, I agree...I've only really been in the small part of the city where our office is. Some of the surrounding areas seem absolutely spectacular though...and now their economy is really developing...kind of thinking it might eventually turn into a pretty big deal.
