  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) Don't know if it was mentioned in here yet, but BBC put out a trailer for . Need to get my 4k TV before that comes out. Can't wait.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) Panthers did it, Seahawks did it, Arizona did it, Indianapolis did it. How many more do you want Those teams were all awful for years before becoming good. And you'll notice a trend of "game-changing QB's" in all but Arizona.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) I think the point is Depth can be flipped fairly quickly, and in the NFL teams frequently go from worst to playoffs. We knew they had no depth and we knew this was a rebuild, but this isnt nearly as long as a rebuild as many think it will be Do they though? Is that really a thing? I'm not sure if the stats back me up, but it feels like the same 5-6 teams are contenders every year.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) They need to assure him he won't be fired for losing then. I have to imagine he was told he was jumping into a rebuild and he'd be safe for a few seasons. Well, strike that, it's the Bears, so who knows what the f***ed up expectations were.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) I think if you find a talented quarterback you're 75% there. Look at the turnarounds made by the Cowboys, the Eagles, etc. A LOT of warts can get covered up by a decent quarterback and a few playmakers. Cowboys have the best offensive line in the game and one of the best RB's in the game. That helps with the QB play. Wentz is still a project, as yesterday's game showed.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:19 PM) I think you guys overestimate how large the talent gap is. I think the results on the scoreboard make us look further away than we really are. You've got about 8 positions of need and chief among them is a QB. It'll all be for naught if they can't find anyone decent to throw the ball. That's what sucks about the NFL. Either you have a really good one and you're in contention, or you don't and you suck for the 3 to 4 years it takes to "make sure."
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) Yeah, but you know Fox isn't going to deliberately try to lose. I don't see why not. The stars have aligned. No one gives a s*** about the Bears with the Cubs so close to a World Series. And you know what, if I'm Bears management, I'm honest with people. We need to lose, we need to get as much new, young talent as we can get. We're not winning the SB anytime soon. We're not even playoff bound any time soon. Look up north to see what happens if you take a patient approach to rebuilding vs. a haphazard, rebuild on the fly, one. It drives me nuts when everyone can see the Bears are an awful football team but the coaches/players/FO have to pretend like they are close. Or that they're trying. Who cares?
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 02:01 PM) Even if this was truly a competition, and Hoyer wasn't injured, would you guys have not brought back Cutler anyways? What Hoyer has done at times has been nice, but at the end of the day the offense hasn't been scoring touchdowns. I don't really think Hoyer has proven anything other than he can accumulate meaningless statistics between the 20's. I would not have. Cutler's the better option to win some games you have no business winning (gunslinger v. game manager) and I want this team to lose, lose, lose.
  9. Unfortunately we're stuck in the Microsoft Office world. No way I can get the partners to try something new.

  11. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 09:27 AM) I'm in the market to buy a leaf blower, and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I'd prefer to not pay more than $150. Consumer Reports seems to rate a few electric models with the best overall ratings, but I was thinking going more with gas powered. Are battery operated ones worth looking into? Anyone make a purchase that they really like? Thanks! I don't have any specific model recommendations (I use a $70-80 electric Toro blower/mulcher/vacuum combo from Home Depot that i'm happy with), but if you're planning to mulch, make sure you get one that has a metal impeller. Plastic ones won't chop up small sticks/twigs/hard leaf stems. As far as battery operated ones go, I think I would stay away. I only have a few big trees, but they dump a lot of leaves, and i'm usually blowing for 45-60 minutes at a time. Can't imagine a battery operated one would last longer than 10 minutes. Depending on the amount of leaves you get, i'd either go backpack gas model or grab one of the electric combo units.
  12. I know there are some IT people here. Anyone use Office 365 at work? We're a small firm (5 attorneys + staff), so 10-12 users. We have a private server set up and have been using it for a number of years. It just crapped out last week, rendering us with no access to our files and email for like 4 days until our cheap, family-member IT person got around to fixing it. I did some digging online and people seem to like O365 as their cloud-based system. We need email, Office products, some kind of file/document storage system, and that's about it. Seems like O365 would be a good solution, especially with the 24/7/365 tech support. Anyone with thoughts/experiences? Also, would we need to get OneDrive too for the file storage? Or does O365 come with something like that?
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 02:06 PM) Standard weekend of a kids birthday party and a playdate during the day. Then watch my wife go crazy over the Cubs at night Saturday and Sunday, if necessary. Exciting! This has been my Saturday 4 out of the last 5 weekends. I finally said enough. So i'm sitting on my ass all weekend to watch football, drink beer and smoke some pork butt in the smoker.
  14. I haven't really read up on the auto-pilot stuff, but isn't all the testing/real world placement of these cars done in perfect weather conditions? Have they been tested in rain/snow?
  15. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) Upgrade your computer, yo. But, I have been hearing that they've made the mid-late game much more interesting and engaging. It's not clicking "Next Turn" endlessly. They've been claiming that they've fixed that since civ 3. It's just the nature of the beast and they know it. When you end up with 30 different units and you gotta do something with them each turn, the game moves along at a snails pace. I'll get this, like i've gotten every other one. The only Civ game I didn't buy was the console/phone version and the most recent space version of civ 5.
  16. That game was 2/3rd's amazing. The middle third, the entire side trip to Mexico, was such a bore. It took me forever to get through. The 1st and 3rd portions were amazing though. Even with that crappy middle section it's still one of the best games ever.

  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) But when it happens, it will be the referees fault Ha, well of course.
  19. I'm really confused by the people who think Illinois will finish 11th or 12th in the league. Perhaps it's my blind homerism, but I see a team with a conference player of the year, first team all big ten talent, a guy that shoots lights out from 3, two 6th year seniors (one of whom has had some success in the big ten in the past), and then a bunch of good athletes. Assuming they're healthy, I don't see how or why Illinois should finish worse than 7th. Teams that are absolutely better: Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State. Everyone else is a big ?. Michigan lost its best player. Maryland has Trimble and a bunch of new guys. OSU is young. Penn State is young. Iowa will rely on Jok and young guys. I dunno. I see a deeper team with more "proven" talent than a lot of teams. Are people just assuming that last year was indicative of what will happen this year? Seems short sighted given Groce was missing 3/5th's of his starting line up and could barely play 7-8 guys.

  21. bmags, have you checked the costco prices versus other similar, no-hassle set ups like edmunds?
  22. It astounds me the fall from around the time of the RNC, when he was gaining some serious traction and had a lot of momentum, to now. Blunder after blunder after blunder. And he still seems totally oblivious to it.
  23. Maybe Derrick's a better shooter than we thought? BAM! NAILED IT.
  24. I really don't see how he's found guilty. She's claiming that she was so out of it that she went home and had no idea they were coming over. They have text messages proving that she's asking him to come over and she's upset Rose didn't bang her friend. This was after she had consensual sex with Rose's friend and gave Rose a BJ at the same time (edit: earlier that night) All that and her co-workers are refuting her day after symptoms and she didn't talk to the cops until 2 years later. All seems like a money grab to me.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) Margaret Carrero ‏@KNXmargaret 18m18 minutes ago #BREAKING Judge in #DerrickRose civil rape trial DENIES defense request to declare a mistrial. @KNX1070 Not a total shock. It's a big waste of time/money to have to start over from scratch. And the prosecutors claimed that they had given those text messages to the defense multiple times in the past.
