I can see Cespedes and Abreu playing off of each other in that lineup. That may be an imaginary vision of mine but it seems like he would fit in very well.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) There's been very little of late connecting the Sox to Upton. Seems like Cespedes might be their target. I would rather have Cespedes to be honest. Just a gut feeling on that so it doesn't really count but I think he will be a much better player for us than Upton.

Cubs are just driving that price up for the Cards. Then they go get Gordon.

QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) LOL youtube not career stats You're a joke, any ways back to the Sox, GO WHITE SOX You calling Kalapse a joke is obviously out of pure ignorance. I forgive you although Jesus may not.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) Maybe history is the best teacher. How many of them benefited the Sox? It's not so much what they gave up but what they got and made a negative impact. Smarj and Swisher come to mind. Still looks great on paper but since it was Oakland does history prevail? I hated Swisher more than any other player ever to criss paths within the Sox system so I'm glad you brought him up....wait no I'm not.... I hate that duechebag! Why would you bring that guy up man?!

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) Game.Set.Match The third baseman looked like he was quite physically stressed from receiving that ball into the infield. Maybe he is he one who is aging.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) @scottmerkin: Hahn: "We have other irons in the fire." This guy puts slams his sack on the table just like Kenny used to do. How cute.
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) You kinda got me there, age is rarely an integral factor when grading a player's defensive value. You muther f***er! You are being sarcastic!
-
QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) I'd shipp my pants. Stop iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.......sssssstop......nnnnnnnnnnooo

QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) If he does it poorly at age 35 for close to 60 million I dont see the point. Your paying for value he may have had years ago. Not now. First, it's money the Cubs are paying him and its money that is theirs so who cares what the cost of they can pay it?Second, there is no gaurantee that he is going to have a significant drop off just because he will turn 35 next year. Especially a guy who has made a career off of being smart, dynamic, and mostly having success because he is versatile. Who has flourished under Maddon previously and has a whole lot to play for the next couple of years.
-
QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Why does it matter that he can play 7 positions when he couldnt defend last year? His defensive value is actually projected to get worse next year. Technically Brett(Baseball Reference) was better offensively and defensively Suuuuuurre. What does it matter a guy can play 7 positions?.....it happens all the god damn time....

QUOTE (dayan024 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) @chuckgarfien White Sox would like to add a power bat in middle of the order. Everyone is thinking Upton but my guess is Cargo.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) this is a bad move shipps. LMAO You Aussie stir the pot mutherf***ers.

I need one of you negative miserable posters to tell me how this is a bad move. One! Please! So I can laugh at you and talk about you to my entire family as you personally being a representative for all negative moronic Soc fans that are impossible to please.

Now I am ALL for this trade. Damn good job Hahn. We didn't give up anyone of note to get him. I am surprised the A's couldn't find a better deal than what we had to offer. I know he isn't a star but damn.
-
LOL no wonder why there was an impasse.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) #WhiteSox get Brett Lawrie from Oakland. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/674771391435116544 Foooooooooooor?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 6m6 minutes ago Hahn on Reinsdorf factor: Jerry tends to be the most aggressive guy in the room..and many times he advocates for the stretch (financially) What the hell else would you say about your boss? LOL
-
QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) If KW we're in charge I'm willing to bet there would have been a bigger splash than Lawrie. It's Hahn's show. He needs to fix his mess from last year. Hey if he wants to keep up the mantra "we're working" great. But the results better be worth it this year especially. KW is the Executive Vice President, he is in charge. What about Kenny screams out to you that he isnt trying to call shots or at the very least have a voice in whats going on? He is constantly in the media spouting off like he is very much involved.

QUOTE (bjm676 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:03 PM) translation...everyone go home. Nothing to see here. Yep. I guess I will pick up tomorrow morning where I left off from here today.
-
QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) Still amazes me that some people view Rick Hahn as like the poor puppet in this situation with almost zero power. While Emperor Kenny Williams is manipulating him behind the scenes to do evil acts. KW clearly has a lot of say on whats being done and discussed behind the scenes. Just as Theo does with the Cubs.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 04:38 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 4m4 minutes ago Hahn coy on 3B (Lawrie). "exploring multiple options." No timeline on anything, he says Dont be stupid Hahn, take your time and if it doesnt fit dont let KW convince you it does.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 04:15 PM) This f***ing Guy Murphy as he's known on the Northside. LOL This is good.

Reports:Mariners Acquired Adam Lind for 3 prospects
shipps replied to BlackSox13's topic in Pale Hose Talk
via Jim Bowden- "Mariners and Brewers agree to trade that will send Adam Lind to the Mariners. The Mariners lineup becomes extremely left-handed with Lind, Cano, Seager, Smith, Martin, Aoki all swinging from the left side with shortstop Ketel Marte a switch-hitter. Only Nelson Cruz and their starting catcher are right-handed hitters. AL West teams better make sure their bullpens have southpaws" "Brewers get three teenagers for Adam Lind"
