I was under the impression that Castro was one of the possible pieces to bring in some ML ready talent. I would be surprised if they received a prospect for him.

It seems like that is a given for every deal now. You have to give a player at least 1-5 more years than you would realistically anticipate production just to get them to sign. The leverage for quality players is unbelievable.

I dont know. My initial impression of Lackey signing anywhere throughout his career I always think to myself... damn that was a mistake. But he has proven to be an impactful SP and presence plenty of seasons along the way including last year. He isnt a power pitcher so its not like with his age there is going to be a sure drop off.
