  1. In case anybody was interested the banner on the site say Cubs tickets for on sale 2/26. Wait til this year #letsgo
  2. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 12:21 PM) No, but they lose a pick Jason Gage tawt me how to spell.
  3. The Cubs have been looking to bolster their SP which would appear to be their weakest link. If they trade Soler they will likely get a pretty damn good pitcher in return. They are riding high right now.
  4. There are some pretty good damn teams on that list that signed the most Free agents last year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000048...tfewest-players Yeah the Packers who can do no wrong in their strategy of never signing Free agents have done well but it isnt the be all end all strategy. Some people have put it out there as being the best way of going about team building but I think there are a number of different ways and it changes from year to year of what that given team should be doing to put out the best product.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) The Bears went from having the hardest schedule in the league last year to the easiest. They were on the wrong end of the close games record. They will be a very popular pick for the playoffs next year. They had very low turnovers last year in a very new defense. Expect that to improve. I will be very disappointed with no playoff birth next year. I am with you on that but the ultimate goal is the superbowl with the hope to be contenders every year. I am willing to give up two and maybe even three seasons to build a powerhouse through the draft. But that is no guarantee that they will hit on the draft picks so I am good either way. The Bears appear to at the very least moving in the right direction and operating as a legit franchise should.
  6. After thinking about the Bears situation I dont know if I would be mad if they traded Bennett and did a sign and trade with Alshon to gather a couple of early draft picks. This team is still at least two years away from competing for a super bowl and likley three years. Big picture would look better if they had a ton of picks and developed the team knowing there would be another season of growing pains next season. Now this day and age there really isnt the luxury of time in building a team and having so many down years but if they made those two moves I would be excited that they had a shrewd plan and the balls to follow through.
  7. When the Sox acquired Lawrie and then Frazier it had us fans jumping on the bus ready for a ride down State street where all these all stars where waiting to be picked up. That is what had us come along for the ride and be excited. Then they just kept passing up guys one by one and then stopping without opening the doors and before you realize what was going on we were driving in Englewood picking up old pimps. I dont know what I am trying to say, but damn.
  8. Studies would suggest that girls who had absent or abusive fathers tend to seek relationships with older men for the approval they never got from their real dads.
  9. Laurence Holmes is of the belief that the Sox were never REALLY in on it with the FA's but had the thought of putting it out there that they were so it might look better to fans...which ended up back firing. I really dont know what to believe. Such a frustrating and strange off season.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 01:30 PM) So Levine was on the radio and said the Cubs would get the #28 pick, and possibly the #14 pick if the Gallardo deal falls through. How does he have the job he has and not have any idea about the rules? I said out loud WTF is this guy talking about when I heard that.
  11. That swing and approach looked so nonchalant and lazy I can't even really take anything from it. Not being critical or anything I just dont think there is much to gather from that one swing.
  12. I continue to be floored by the love that they have for Shea. I know Fangio is really high on him and obviously he knows more than I do but I just dont think he is a legit NFL starter. If he werent to sign with the Bears I dont know if there is another team out there willing to hand him a starting job. I could be wrong but I never seen anything other than some football intelligence with Shea.
  13. Yeah Coop is great but he is not speaking to many of the low level guys like this. He likes the kid for whatever reason and probably because he is another New York guy.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) @adamschefter Bears are expected to retain WR Alshon Jeffery, either by signing him to long term deal or tagging him, per sources. ....says the guy who mused that the Bears would let him walk Shocking...
  15. I am really hoping they are over playing the storm that is coming. Give me like 3 inches and I will be happy with that outcome.
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) It's to the point of delirium here. Get ready to have your fandom questioned. Now when that happens...its just dumb. I think the whole cross town rivalry is fun and everything but its dumb to question someones fandom if they arent interested in it.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) There is also an audio clip out there today of Hahn saying that Rollins played through some injuries last year, and that might have had some effect on him. Injuries is code for old man issues.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 05:15 PM) Any must see/do's? Going on a bachelor party for 5 days. I think the only activity planned so far is spearfishing. well the obvious places like seeing Old San Juan and El Morro were very cool. Being that you are going for a bachelor party it may not be the same type of trip that I took with my wife. LOL The El Yunque rainforest was awesome. Drive up to the almost the top of the mountain and hike the La Mina trail to get to the La Mina waterfall. It is about a half hour drive and about a 45 minute hike but its worth it to swim in the falls. That was my favorite part of the trip. If you do anything outside of partying that is a must do. Also eat a Kan Kan pork chop with some mofungo at Raices in Old San Juan. It is great. If you have time also hit up one of the biobays, but again you probably arent going to be looking for stuff like that doing the bachelor party.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) This thread is already a dumpster fire. I'll never understand why people are so worried about a team not in the White Sox division when they claim to be White Sox fans. Just pointless. Its not worry. I think its fun to talk about and root against. Its like I have a second team to sincerely root for...every team in the national league not the Cubs. LOL
  20. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 04:51 PM) Kind of a cryptic tweet from Anderson Could he really be that upset about Rollins? He was a longshot to make the team before the signing, and honestly this move could really benefit him, where hopefully he can learn a thing or two. Seeing this might of rattled him a bit maybe its exactly what Anderson needs and not so much just something to light a fire under Saladino.
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) I'm leaving for Puerto Rico thursday morning. Hopefully this thing stays away. Enjoy dude. I had a great time there a couple months ago.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) I am sure that Avi has no idea how bad he was last year. A guy could know he was bad but until there is a consequence to being bad it may not really get through to the guy. Once again let me say that I like Avi and I believe he is going to be a good ball player. But I dont think it would hurt for him to get some really tough love at this point in his career.
  23. Shouldnt like every Sox pitcher be at a relatively low risk considering the Sox history with this?
