I would be calling the rockies and seeing if they have any interest in moving Cargo. They are likely to lose Tulo as well so maybe a complete overhaul might be something the rockies would consider. It would be tough but its not like that core has gotten them anywhere so far. Not sure if this is enough but I'd offer something like Hawkins, Sanchez, Beck and Montas Contract is 16 mil for '15, 17 mil for '16 and 20 mil for '17

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 10:19 AM) Any time I think Hawk is terrible, all I need to do is surf around my MLB audio subscription. That just makes me want to stab my ears out. Honestly, we are really, really luck with the TV and radio crews that we have in all sports. Chicago has some incredible talent broadcasting their local teams. It is a great time to be consuming Chicago sports in terms of the crews giving us the games. except stacy king

At what point is this season not considered a success?
joejoedairy replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 12:53 PM) No, but that's one of the reasons this season is diappointing. I like Eaton, but at this point I'm pretty nervous he's capable of ever playing more than 75% of his games. Garcia is an unknown, and it makes me nervous that he will not hit for enough power to make up for a light hitting CF/3b'er. I feel like the sox are going to need to have a solid fourth outfielder for as long as they are relying on eaton and garcia. May have to pay a little more for a backup than what is desirable, but as long as they have someone who can fill in when they are out for stints the team should be fine. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) Phegley hits #23. Any chance Phegley could be a DH in the majors? I know his defense is lacking

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2014 -> 08:38 AM) Manziel is getting into the "I'm sick of hearing about Tim Tebow Manziel" realm for me. Either go out and actually earn all this attention or please stop telling me about him. I never understand how people can be mad at the player for attention given to them by the media -

FutureSox Top 25 Prospects List - Midseason
joejoedairy replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
I know Eric Johnson has graduated, but I was wondering where in the top 25 you all thought he would rank if he was still eligible after this season. Particularly in relationship to Adams/Montas/Danish. Thanks -

QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) Gillaspie replaced viciedo in the 7th is he gone? Pretty sure it was just a pinch hit due to bases loaded in a tie game with a right handed pitcher on the mound. Didnt work though as conor popped out -
Charlotte Knights lead all baseball in HR's
joejoedairy replied to southsider2k5's topic in FutureSox Board
I feel like we may need to start taking into account this new stadium in Charlotte when evaluating some of the offensive numbers guys are putting up there. Sanchez has 5 home runs which is more than his entire milb career prior. wilkins leading the IL in hrs etc. It is obvious and it has been written about that the new stadium is a great place to hit a home run. Unfortunately this takes away from the one positive about davidsons season (his good power showing). Also, maybe the pitching at charlotte isn't that bad. -
I'm not sure he gets in the HOF (unless he sticks around for another 6 or so years) but I do think #56 will be retired by the sox

Sale won't pitch this weekend. Think this is due to his one inning in the ASG or just additional rest? Link

Here is an article about Davidson adjusting to Charlotte. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?conte...mp;ymd=20140609

Love for Coop from Jonah Keri's power rankings on Grantland.com: • We're still trying to quantify exactly how much a pitching coach can affect a team's results. But after a while, you see enough Esteban Loaiza, Matt Thornton, and Philip Humber stories and wonder if Don Cooper might be the best pitching coach in the business. Link

4/23/12 GT Sox @ A's 9:05pm, CSN+
joejoedairy replied to The Ginger Kid's topic in 2012 Season in Review
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) The Twins have a runner on 3rd with no outs last inning (Mauer up) and they somehow managed not to score, could have had the lead but now the Red Sox are gone ahead 6-5 in the top of the 9th. Still will be yet another test of the Red Sox bullpen. They brought in Bard to face Mauer, so clearly that experiment with him as a starter is already over. they skipped his start due to an off day. said they'd use him in the bullpen in the meantime so i dont know if hes completely done as a starter -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) Did the Sox announcers even talk about it? I know the Twins announcers showed the replay and were like, wow, that wasn't even close. stone said "it looks like he got the call wrong but"
