Sounds like hes got the talent and hopefully sox saw something that they thought they could fix to get his command.
havent had a hs pitcher to follow in a while so it'll be interesting to follow him through the system
That makes sense. In that case Banuelos doesn't need to make another start.
Cease would also get 7 days off between starts which I guess would be good for innings management.
Cease could start the 3rd and 8th at Charlotte and then make his debut on June 13th or 14th at home. Only problem is his first start is against the yankees, which may not be the best way to start a career. Also Banuelos would have to make one more start even with the off days
I asked about Kubat last year because he always seemed to put up good numbers.
Someone (I think @NorthSideSox72 ) said that he is just an Org guy.
Possible he added velocity or a new pitch this year?
I've felt that his ultimate role will be a 4+ out reliever but at this point there is no one else to take the starts so he should keep getting chances.
I think his stuff could play up in a RP role, but that is no guarantee.
I assume the .200 babip might be a reason, but he grounds into the shift every time so not sure how much regression is coming.
Oddly, against lefties he has hit a few more to LF.
He and Basabe are both in a position where a good second half would keep them on a pretty good development timeline.
Rutherford will have to repeat AA.
You can make your debut at age 26 and still have a productive career. It may be later than you would hope but that doesn't mean you just cross him off completely.
I will be in Toronto for game 6 saturday. Tickets are lookin like $260+ so I'll probably be hanging out in Jurassic Park.
Should be a good time either way.
