  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 11:05 AM) Hardrock, Coco, and Joe on Ray Rayner and Garfield Goose.
  2. QUOTE(Beastly @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) It's a shame they didn't find anything that proved Shoeless Joe Jackson innocent. Guilty of agreeing, not guilty of doing. yes it is a eternal ban.
  3. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) I said Brian Anderson; I assume that with how much he parties, he has quite a bit of experience. I will always take experience in this situation. If this was a hocley team, he's the guy you would want out there in the fight, no way you would want to risk a third line player

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) Salt Springs, north-central part of the National Forest. Scenic 4-mile spring run to Lake George. Lots of Florida Trail Association trails. Also a lot of deer hunters to try to steer clear of, but we make sure not to put our kids in their antler hats when we go out hiking. . . I refuse to wait until next Thanksgiving to camp again. I'm trying to figure out where to go for a trip in January or February. Did you have to hand over hand the canoe down the springs?
  5. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) You just can't beat Onion animal stories. Here's one of my old favorites. Onion Laughs

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) I bought two bundles of firewood and a half-day canoe rental. Family camping has become the Thanksgiving tradition, and this year we were up in Ocala National Forest. The slow-roasted campfire turkey came out wonderful and threats of heavy downpours never materialized. Being back at work sucks arse. Clearwater Lake?
  7. Southsider brings up a great point regarding prices and energy policy. IMNSHO, Americans would rather have oil dependence at low prices than energy independence at higher prices. We talk about how nice it would be but we will not actually pay for it. Either at then pump or in the environment.
  8. I'm guessing there is a lot more to it than a robbery. That guy is always in trouble.
  9. I would also like to see us less dependent on foreign food, but that isn't nearly as sexy of an issue as oil.
  10. QUOTE(Beastly @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) Can someone change my name to: The Beast? Beastly seems to plain without Ordonez at the end of it. Heh. Any suggestions could be helpful, I'm not very good with creative screen names. Kapkomet took care of that for you. How about a cage match? The Beast V. Rex Kickass?

People who live "up north" who say they couldn't get into the Christmas spirit down here where it is too warm. Do you remember stories of the three wise men trudging through snow to visit the baby Jesus? GMAB
  12. AJ, tough, big, and quick. Plus, he is probably smart enough to keep all the gear on

Holiday Inn for nostalgia and then Christmas Story. And who can say no to Charlie Brown? That was the major TV event of the season growing up.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 09:13 AM) I would be much more interested in some actual changes in policy versus some hyperbole and rhetoric towards a friendly government. Exactly. We have to really stretch our definition of "friend" to include any major oil exporting nation, but the Saudis are about as good as it gets (sadly) and ripping them to grab some votes seems short sighted and not what I'd want from a President. I'd love to be energy independent in 25 years, as long as we still have vehicles and a decent environment.

You may select more than one.
  17. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 09:07 AM) Or maybe not so curious after all.... Turns out that if you leave the Senate by the end of the year, you are not beholden to the new ethics rules which prevent sitting Congressmen from becoming lobbyists for two years after you leave office. Always an angle

QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night) - The Electric Prunes Too Much Time On My Hands - Styx
  20. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) so are we talking about surfing or sex? I guess you haven't done either
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 04:48 PM) I always think it's fun with Mariotti articles to go through the records of him. A non-trivial percentage of the time, you can find 2 completely opposed articles on the same issue a few months apart. He just goes after whichever side makes him look correct at the time. Look at the Garland and Cabrera threads, some poster went through that in a matter of hours
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) I rode on the DC Metro this past week. I was reminded how clean, quiet and reliable that system is. Did a little research though - they get a LOT more money per track mile than the CTA does. And their infrastructure isn't nearly as old either. Yet the assumption is the CTA is corrupt and mismanaged. Which may be true.
  23. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) My wife took our boys to see her father in Branson, Mo last week. He is very sick, so this may be a last time for them to see him. Her and her brother are going to stay another week, so I drove to St. Louis this AM to meet her half way and bring the boys the rest of the way home. Left the house at 6:30 AM, and saw zero cops the whole way down. After we had lunch and loaded up to head home, saw 28! They sure didn't have to worry about too much speeding with all that freezing rain crap coming down! Rain freezes? Hey Kap, ain't that crazy s***?
