It appears there are two camps here, the first is the anyone who uses the "n-word" is a racist, and those that believe when in a heated argument a person will grab the words that would hurt the most, regardless of their feelings about race, sexual identity, etc. I'm in the "hurt the most" camp. Telling that heckler their mom dresses them funny would not have shut them up. Richard's felt he had to go to the top of the list, the most vile, insulting thing he could think of. That would be something the person has no control over, his race, looks, size, etc. Everyone here knows the worse insults we could toss at someone. To claim that in your worse moments, your most enraged, you wouldn't reach back and grab those words, would make you either a Saint or you are fooling yourself. I agree he was wrong, a poor comic, an even worse apologist, but to label him a racist, which implies a systematic, long held belief, based on this one instance, isn't fair.

Perhaps, but Anybirthday has a theory: To be born on this date, a baby would most likely have been conceived on New Year's Eve. The survey also found May 22 to be the least common birthday. As yet, no guesses as to what it is that happens in late August (nine months prior to that date) that routinely turns so many people off. Perhaps it's just too darn hot?

For all discussions on government spending we must work within budget restraints. Looking at this through the eyes of unlimited funding creates a solution that is only theoretical. Now, I will take a shot at spend and don't tax proponents here, they have convinced a large slice of the public that we do have a virtually unlimited supply of money. They have hoodwinked the public into believing these deficits will result, down the road, in economic prosperity, and all this money will flow back into the treasury. What happens if it flows back but government is still spending more than they take in? We must look at where private industry is funding research and stay out of their game. We must also look at where government funding of research would have military value.We also must balance the budget.

Right - UCLA asking for IDs after 11 when the library is closed to the public. Wrong - kid not producing the ID Wrong - security police tasering the guy So we have two wrongs. Which one is worse? Look at the potential problems. A non student in the library after hours could . . .?? The taser, is an extreme case, could cause death. I see the threat being much, much, lower than the response. Verdict to the idiot kid over the equally idiotic security cop.
