Funny, two years ago, the GOP took a razor thin victory by Bush, painted some pretty maps, and called it a landslide and mandate for change. He isn't the only voice with this statement. Politics moves on. We all see things through our own individual point of view.

I was thinking we could use a catch-all for this topic. To kick it off, not my brand of Christianity

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 11:13 PM) NEASC would be the regional accreditation agencies for MA. You should be able to look up Hempshire. . . , er, I mean Hampshire College on that page and see if they are regionally accredited. The general rule of thumb is to defer to the regional agencies and to not be content just with a national accreditation. Yep, right there between Greenfield Community College and some off the wall place, Harvard. From their website The Spiritual Life Center at Hampshire College provides the space and support for spiritual exploration, development, and appreciation. We seek to encourage healthy community life, interaction, and reconciliation across boundaries of ideas, possibilities, and faiths. We offer a place where students can flourish and experience the connections between mind, body, and spirit, a place where we can become fully ourselves even as we lift up and celebrate our diverse community. CLASS PROJECT GONE WRONG An elementary s chool cla s s s tarted a cla s s project to ma k e planter s to ta k e home to their parent s . [/size] They wanted to have a plant in it that wa s ea s y to ta k e care of, s o they decided to u s e cactu s plant s . The s tudent s were given green-ware pottery planter s in the s hape of clown s which they painted with glaze. The clown planter s were profe s s ionally fired at a class outing so they could see the process. It wa s great fun! They planted cactu s s eed s in the fini s hed planter s and they grew nicely, but unfortunately, the children were not allowed to take them home. The cactus plants were removed and small ivy replaced them and the children were then allowed to take them home instead. The teacher said cactus seemed like a good idea at the time!

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) Just wondering, Tex, is that you next to Bush? Successful politicians would not be photographed anywhere near me. I just pray that Bush realizes he stood next to a meth using homosexual and lightning didn't strike, he didn't get any gay cooties, it didn't "rub off", or any of the other dire warnings dunderheads think.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 11:50 AM) I can see it now. Tex Jr., the proud graduate of Hampshire Commune . . . er, College, saying "Dad remember whan I told you I cared deeply about majoring in Psych? Well. . . Psyche!!! And thanks for the four-year party!" How can I check out if their accreditation is legit?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 09:23 AM) Nice poll Unfortunately I regret to announce that due to the discriminatory constitution of the United States of America, I cannot run for President in 2008 because of the age-ist laws prohibiting anyone under 35 from being the leader our fine nation. But look out in 2012 OH yeah, I did want to throw out there that the first to announce will be a relative nobody. The big names want the spotlight to themselves and also want a little begging to go on before they announce. I am thinking in McCain's case, he could block some candidates from running if they know he's in the race. Often times a candidate has one shot and I think his decision will trigger a couple others. Bottom line, McCain announces to block.

Welcome to my campaign for world domination

Damn, I rushed home hoping to be sharing a victory celebration. How much time we got before the next election? The little things make democracy work, and voters having quality choices is one of them. -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 08:45 AM) LOL And I held my nose and voted for Perry. Ick. Booooooooooooooooooooo!

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 08:46 AM) Our area is very Republican, and they turned away a lot of voters in line two years ago. You had to be in the building by 7 or you were turned away. It happens both ways... That's the Texas law. If you aren't in line by 7pm, no voting, no exceptions.

It's not too early to start a Presidential run, and someone will probably announce by this weekend they plan to run. Who will be the first to toss their hat in the ring?

BTW, Bush probably owes his Presidency to a Push Poll that wiped out McCain.

Actually a PhD in Psychology is his education goal, but he would like an opportunity to sample things along the way. Learn how to think. The 11:1 student/faculty ratio and an average class size of 16 seems like nirvana. From the research he has done, graduates seem to do well in grad school. I am concerned about the accreditation. It seems legit.

================================================================== Loser says what? TOPFIVE.COM'S LITTLE FIVERS -- POLITICAL http://www.littlefivers.com/politics/ ================================================================== November 7, 2006 NOTE FROM CHRIS: You slackers better be voting today. The Top 7 Signs Your Campaign Staff Didn't Really Expect You to Win 7> You ask them to prepare a concession speech, and it's ready before you leave the room. 6> When you show up at campaign headquarters, you see your press secretary standing next to an FBI agent, pointing at you and saying "Yep, that's him!" 5> The total number of votes you received is less than the total number of people on your payroll. 4> Your acceptance speech is written in tartar sauce on a hotel cocktail napkin. 3> You caught them red-handed burning their "I Never Liked Him Anyway" shirts. 2> All the W's have been removed from the campaign's keyboards. and the Number 1 Sign Your Campaign Staff Didn't Really Expect You to Win... 1> When it's time for the celebratory balloon drop... the balloon drops. Dear Friend, Today most people will simply vote and go home. That's not enough. Whether you're voting today or you've voted early or absentee already, what you do today could determine the outcome of this election The power is in your hands -- by getting as many people to vote as you can, you'll bring a change to our country and end Republican rule. The conversations you have today, the extra few minutes you take to bring someone who might not otherwise vote with you to the polls, the follow-up with your friends, family and neighbors to make sure they have voted -- all of it will multiply the power of your single vote. To help you get to the polls -- and to help you get others to the polls you can find your states polling information online: http://www.democrats.org/pollingplace We've also put together the resources you need to spread the Democratic message and reach as many people as possible. Here are just a few a couple of those resources: La s t-Minute Volunteer s The best way to volunteer at the last minute is to call your local Democratic Party: http://www.democrat s .org/volunteer/call Print Your Own Flyer s The Democratic Agenda: http://www.democrat s .org/agenda Voter Protection Info: http://www.democrat s .org/voterprotection There's another thing I want you to be aware of as your and your neighbors head to the polls today. There have already been widespread reports of voter suppression by Republican operatives, ranging from apparently legal harassment of Democratic voters to potentially illegal efforts to keep voters away from the voting booth. This isn't new for Republicans. It's a cynical art that the Republican machine has refined for years, and each election brings new variations on oldtactics that target minorities and minority-heavy areas. Here's what you need to know: 1) If you're a registered voter, do not leave your polling location without voting. Every registered voter is entitled to cast a provisional ballot. 2) If you're in line before the poll's closing time, you are entitled to vote. 3) You're entitled to view a sample ballot at the polling place before voting. 4) If you experience any problems voting or observe any irregularities, immediately call 1-888-DEM-VOTE to report the incident. In addition to providing your polling place information, by calling 1-888-DEM-VOTE you can record a complaint or speak with an election protection monitor. The line is available in English and Spanish. You can also report any voting irregularities or problems online: http://www.democrats.org/voterprotection/report Democrats are committed to ensuring that every rightful voter has the freedom to cast his or her ballot free from intimidation or undue burden, and we've deployed voter protection teams across the country to make sure that's possible today. There's one more thing I want to tell you. Today is not the end of anything. All the Democrats we elect, from city council to Congress to governor, will still have a lot of work to do after they take the oath of office in January. And so will we, the committed Democrats who have promised to build a new kind of political party that doesn't evaporate after each election. For the first time in our party's history, we're prepared to take the investments we made to win an election and turn them into permanent investments in our party. We've spent millions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours to turn a year and a half of work on our 50-state strategy into an unprecedented 50-State Turnout operation. We've seen in the last few weeks the dramatic impact we can have when we fight in places the Republicans take for granted. We've made a demonstrable difference in this election and laid the groundwork for future gains in even the most "red" parts of the country. When the final results are in, we'll report to you on the impact it's impact. But right now you still have the opportunity to do something about this election. Please take that opportunity while you can. Thank you. Governor Howard Dean, M.D. P.S. -- If anyone who hasn't been paying attention to this election until today asks you what Democrats stand for, point them right here: http://www.democrats.org/agenda

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 06:13 AM) Yeah, if you guys all hate Haggard, you must really be harboring some awesome grudges against the poster child for lying and hypocracy, Bill Clinton right? I mean not only did he lie about his stuff for how long, but he got up on national TV and accused everyone else of lying, unlike Haggard who just had a congregation to lie to, and on top of it all he lied under oath about it. Wow, this guy must be super unpopular right now. Actually, the poster boy is "I am not a Crook", the owner of Checkers, the only thing he took in politics, Richard Nixon. And actually I have a problem with both these men. The moral leadership in American keeps declining, that is a problem. I'm not certain if, as some have theorized, that our leaders always had these skeletons, and that we are now willing, actually eager, to display them for all to see, or if we have just lost the ability to choose leaders with sound character. Either way, it is a problem. In the past two Presidential elections, a couple good men where smeared, McCain and Kerry, for the benefit of Bush. We not only accepted the tone of the campaign, but rewarded it.

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 10:44 PM) If the allegations of rapes and illegal abortions aretrue, they shouldbe hailed as whistleblowers, exposing the rampant corruptionin the abortion industry! If therewas a half-green, I would put it in that. But seriously, if there is wrongdoing exposed here, how is that different from someone exposing national secrets to a newspaperand being thought of as a hero? Exactly.
