  2. I was just noticing that RUSH is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I was a bit surprised. 30 years of some pretty damn good rock and roll. What say you music mavens?
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 07:45 AM) I never laid question to whether Kerry's war wounds were fake or not. My biggest problem with him is his legislative record and most of all, his conduct immediately after the war. The whole Swift Boat thing left me with a very tainted view of these. When even Veterans don't have a problem ripping on the awards, I guess John Q. Public shouldn't have that great of a view. You should have a problem with his legiative record, politically y'all are 180% apart. His actions after the war are a bit more complex. I remember my Dad, a Vet of Korea and a conservative, saying the only anti-War protesters he respected where the guys who got shot at and earned the right to protest. That had an affect on me. I believe Kerry earned his free speech rights, while others have them given to him.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 07:34 AM) Whatever dude. That may happen in a very rare instance but 99.999999999999999% of the time the soldier earned it. You want a B.S. award you need look no farther than the bronze star. I had to stand in a ceremony in July of 2003 where a platoon sergeant got one for his service in Iraq. This same platoon sergeant took off and hauled ass the very first time he came under fire. Unless that Bronze Star has a valor device attached to it I dont even want to hear about it. And that .0000000000000001% time just happened to be a guy running for President? Wow, what are the odds? This pussy got one, how tough can it be. BTW, during the last election cycle you claimed a lot more of those are faked. Flip Flopper
  5. Evil, Republican leadership, at the time, praised his efforts. Now the GOP is saying it wasn't enough and trying to shift all the blame to the Oval Office. I believe this is flip flopping It is wrong to blame something like this on one man. The percentage of government workers that change with a new administration is so small. However, no one could have predicted this. To claim that the earlier attacks should have woke us up to 9/11 just doesn't make sense. What horrific event should 9/11 wake us up to? What innocent person should we arrest now and get off the streets before he masterminds that attack? Sam, have you forgotten that this was the first bit of terrorism by a foreigner? The previous event was by US military trained US citizens. Add in the Washington Sniper and perhaps we should "wake up" and start rounding up all ex-military and keeping them under lock and key. I do blame Clinton for the Monica mess. It did reduce his Presidency to just holding on. However, we also have to blame the GOP for neutering him and not filling the void. It all has to fit together. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 07:37 AM) If Clinton had actually whacked Bin Laden then it would have been all good and he would have cemented his credentials as a terrorist fighter. Instead, he let the pussy whipped lawyers talk him out of it and lobbed a few cruise missiles at empty training camps. If he was actually willing to get his hands dirty fighting terrorism instead of making a token BS attempt to do something he could have told Rush and his friends to f*** off. At that point in time, the man was innocent. While there are a few people who would support a US murder spree, I doubt it would be good for us in the long run.
  6. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) In my opinion the purple heart buys him a little leeway, but not much. Jail time needs to be served, then cut loose. The Purple Heart is a b.s. award that means nothing in my mind. Guys just make up crap to get them.

  10. BTW, my favorite hiccup cure is filling a tumbler with water and drinking from the opposite rim. Your chin is in the water kindof if that makes sense. You have to tilt your head almost in a "C" shape. I was just thinking, my hiccup cure is now available for hundreds of millions of people to read, What a waste of bandwith.
  11. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) That was most generous compared to some other comments Ive heard about deserters. It's because of the fact that he ran away from such a situation that he warrants such comtempt. That climate must be preserved, it makes perfect sense, you can't have soldiers picking battles. I just think back on Middle School arguments calling some a pussy and find it funny to think of grown men calling people names like that.
  12. If Clinton had started yelling Bin Laden, Bin Laden, Rush and his ditto heads would have been screaming tail wagging the dog, he wants us to forget about Monica. How about the entire GOP fixating on a blow job instead of pushing for Bin Laden? While they were blowing millions on Ken Star, maybe they could have also worked towards anti terrorism? There are briefings for all the key leaders for both parties. Our political climate contributed to this for certain, but no one could forsee this event. Of course the GOP faithful will blame Bush if an as yet to be identified terrorist blows something up anytime in the next 3 years?
  13. I have to agree with Nuke on this one. We can't have soldiers picking and choosing which battles to face. When you enlist, you aren't being drafted, you are volunteering. I wouldn't agree with a long tax payer supported stay, but a reasonable sentence and a less than honorable discharge would be appropriate. I find Nuke's final comment ammusing. A schoolyard insult, that should be left in childhood, extends into our military to describe someone, seems so silly in a life or death situation.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Until they can confirm it beyond a shadow of a doubt I classify any report of his death as dubious at best. Doesn't matter if he's dead or alive. As long as Binny Inc. can continue to operate, with or without him, he's a problem. Who can predict what direction his successor would take the merry band of murders? I think it is very probable his successor would want to pull off an even bigger massacre. Binny doesn't have to prove anything.
  15. I think there are two parts to why Carter and Clinton continued civic work well after their terms ended. 1. Their ages. Both were much younger than the others. 2. Liberal do-gooders keep thinking they can change the world for the better.
  16. Linked NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton wrapped up his second annual brainstorming summit on Friday with commitments worth $7.3 billion to combat illness, poverty, religious and ethnic conflict and climate change. The 215 commitments secured during the three-day Clinton Global Initiative in New York were headlined by British billionaire Richard Branson's pledge on Thursday to spend an estimated $3 billion over 10 years fighting global warming. While the 2006 initiative secured less than the 300 or so commitments made during the inaugural event last year, the value of this year's pledges almost tripled the $2.5 billion achieved in 2005. "What Richard Branson did here is wonderful, but you don't need $3 billion to replicate it," Clinton told the summit, adding the aim of the initiative was simply to "create a piece of common ground in a highly contentious world." Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, chief executive of News Corp. also reminded people that commitments to tackle the world's woes did not need to involve a big monetary donation. "We can do many, many things -- they're not multibillion dollar things -- but maybe they're more valuable," Murdoch said at the event. Among the pledges made was a commitment to create a green fund expected to raise up to $1 billion and to be managed by former World Bank President James Wolfensohn to support investments in renewable energy. Microfinance nonprofit Opportunity International pledged to provide $500 million in loans, savings, insurance, and training to help 50 million people work their way out of poverty around the world. Say what you will about them as Presidents, but Carter and Clinton have continued public service in a grand way. That's something we haven't seen from other retirees from the Oval Office. java script:ArticlePaging(

    Thoughts...

I guess when you live in that world, having your daughter pose is probably something Cindy didn't give a second thought to. And it shouldn't have needed a second thought, the first thought should have been no way will my daughter pose like that.
