  1. Interesting that in one poll, about half of the people picked REP has their party affiliation. In the DEM thread there have been 5 times as many posts. It would seem that the Dems are more interesting at this point. Now if the media gave people what they wanted, and produced 5 times the Dem stories, they may have economic success, but would be scolded for being too bias. Hmmm.
  2. I don't know how to react when my team is acting like a team trying to build a dynasty. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine the pitching staff that will be together for the next 3 seasons. Just incredible. This staff will rival, if not surpass, the Atlanta staffs of the 90s. Great mix, great citizens, Wow!
  3. I think that the GOP will not vote for her, the Clinton name still causes frothing at the mouth, 5 years after he left office. Rush would lead the attack. Traditional value types will have a quandry because of the "stand by your man" aspect, but that will hurt her with women who think she should have left Bill, and of course she will be attacked for placing her ambitions ahead of her morals in staying married to Bill. Men will whisper do we want someone menstrating and in control of the "button". ha ha If she runs, it will be the ugliest race we have ever experienced. If we thought Bush trashed McCain a while back, that will look like a Junior League social.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) No way in hell does she clean house in the midwest like you're saying. You're also failing to recognize that Hilliary is an object of maximum scorn from Republicans from coast to coast. Our smear machine would drag her through the mud from the moment she won the nomination stopping only to piss in the mudhole and Id be loving every 30 seconds of it. No way does that socialist win anything but a trip back to Arkansas. But New York is home I'm with Nuke, no way can she win. Too many people aren't ready for a female Dem President. I think the Swifties would seem restraint by comparison to what the anti-Hillary forces will bear.
  5. Fashion note, you are looking at a cap, which has a bill. A hat has a brim all the way around, as in western hat
  6. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) .277 Career Average. 342 Home Runs. He made a ton of Errors. He had some good stats and he was a very good player however I think HOF players are elite. Not just very good. I think of him as good but not Hall of Fame type. Name two better 3rd basemen during his stretch. And he should go in with a White Sox cap
  7. I would also say, no matter where Carter wanks as President, he is easily the greatest Ex-President in my lifetime. No one has done more to help the disadvantaged. While Reagan jetted off to Japan for a $two comma speaking engagement$, Carter would be building homes for the poor.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) Do you have a link for that bit of info? Magic told him personally, right before they had a magical night together Soxtalk's Train to Hell Conductor™
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) I'll probably be crucified for this, but considering the era that Santo played in, I think his numbers merit HOF status. I can't see how anyone could really disagree, IIRC his vote was always close. I wonder how he would have done with steroids in his system And to be fair to Oz, I'd rather watch a team of Ozzies, than many of the HoF inductees. If the HoF gave points for entertainment, setting a good example, and other intangibles, I'd roll out the red carpet for him.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) Maybe in 10-15 years of managing Ozzie will be a HOFer, but as a player he doesn't even deserve consideration. I hate to say this, but Santo is so much more deserving, and if his career wasn't good enough, Oz better hope to win a few more pennants and a World Series. Absent that, buy a ticket like the rest of us.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) The search function is there for a reason. search is turned off until the database is optimized by kap. Buerhle is a St. Louis guy, he's signed. Kong is an LA kind of guy, he's signed. Randy Johnson was a low key, out of the spotlight guy, he's wearing pin stripes. Players can't always get want they wa-ant. But they might find, they get what they need.
  14. Ozzie, not close. Harold, another guy that if he has stayed healthy, would have been solid HoF material. But, he may get closer than Ozzie, he isn't getting in either.
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) The whole infastructure has been set up for Hillary to win. Unless Bush leaves under a very dark cloud, and I doubt that, the race will not have any party hangovers. I guess there are some scenarios where Hillary could win, but none seem likely. A couple I can think of off the top of my head. GOP nominates a female (Rice? Dole? ??) GOP nominates an extremist (Pat Buchanan? DeLay?) GOP gets caught in major scandal. I think McCain beats any Dem on the horizon, and would easily beat Hillary. Who of the possible nominees could Hillary beat, and outside of dyed in the wool Dems, who else is voting for her? GOP females? I don't think she can pick up enough independents and GOP votes to win.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) All Hail Hillary - Our President from 2009-2017. I'm not joking, either. Not going to happen. Only the GOP could get the first black or first female elected. Unless both the Dems and GOP nominate females. Then it's a race. But a Dem "first" vs. a GOP old white guy, the GOP wins. Now a quality GOP "first", beats an old white guy from the Dems. I'm not joking, either.
  17. Perfect. I'm going to have both of those printed on high quality paper and framed. Thanks.
