  1. Can you say Texas football excitement? It's starting to build around here.
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Without all these stats to analyze, we'd have to resort to *GASP* watching ballplayers. Without stats we'd have more people posting in SL&P during the off season

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) Curses? We don't need no stinkin' curses! unless winning is a curse
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) The official "paid attendance" numbers. That's what all the figures reflect. I've heard that described two ways. One paid, and two paid and attended.
  5. If I am understanding I4E's comments, the Palistinians should be rounded up and sent to Jordan and all Jews are entitled to Israel as a "homeland". I honestly have never understood the homeland issue. How can someplace you have never lived, become a homeland? My wife is of Polish/Lithuanian decent. She is about 5 generations removed from anyone who was born in either one of those countries, is that her "homeland"?

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) To have patience with the jackass customers I have to deal with on a regular basis. what does a resistor do and why does it have those funny colored stripes on it? Can you sell me two?
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) Have I4E or his brothers done any suicide bombing in the US? The answer to my question is congruent to the answer to yours. If you personally have never lived somewhere, how does it become your homeland?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) Wait. Wasn't NY a blue state? I'd say Hillary is probably majorly pissed, but then she just got a tax cut. Are Senators making over $150,000? I wonder if Senators are like other workers who live in one state and work in another and pay multiple state taxes. They may be paying Washington D.C. taxes, not state. Interesting loop hole.
  9. This was the best baby sitter they could find? :headshake I can't believe a 2-year old would drink alcohol like that. I figured the taste would make them stop.

The only other place down here that serves "greek tacos" LOL, uses the prepackaged kind. Chicago Dogs has the meat rotating right there and cuts it off to order. Mmmmm.
  12. What's with all the XYZ Show Marathons? Do we really need a Monk New Years Day marathon?

  15. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Big difference, REX...HUGE DIFFERENCE! In WW2, the Nazis were trying to round up Jews to exterminate them, NOT to move them to their "homeland"! The "palestinians'" homeland is Jordan, NOT Israel...JORDAN! Israel was never the "palestinians'" homeland, and never will be! It is the "palestinians" who want to Jews eradicated, not the other way around! This is where I am always confused. The Jews and homeland issue. Would it be morally right for us to round up I4E and his brothers and send them to Israel?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 09:22 AM) Perhaps my sarcasm was too subtle. Ahhh, sorry

Sorry, I had doub le posted and for some reason my posts was deleted and the thread remained. The best local Hot Dog stand near me, Chicago Dogs, added real gyros to the menu. I noticed they offer cheese, but I can't remember adding cheese before. Is that a new Chicago thing?
  18. Garland is a winner. He is one of the best young pitchers in baseball. You cannot statistically prove "winner", in fact some winners will not have steller stats. Bart Colon is one that comes to mind. He pitches best when his team really needs him. I've watched enough baseball to know that Garland is the kind of guy you want in your rotation. I wonder how teams ever won before computers.
  19. The WS afterglow will help the early Spring dates that lowered attendance in past seasons. And BTW, are we talking about attendance or ticket sales?
  20. I was thinking a veteran team looking to play in October would actually post a worse record than some sub .500 team with a bunch of guys trying to make a roster.

I wonder how many people watching that knew it was wrong?
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) Non-Iraqi ones? Yes, I agree. If I was an Iraqi, I'd want to get out of the war zone also . . .

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 08:40 AM) I love subtle sarcasm. The sarcasm was clearly marked in green, I don't think that is subtle. As I have stated many, many times. Let the voters in Sugarland decide on DeLay. The Dems have taken so many shots, I've lost count, and none have stuck. They took their best shot, it failed. This is revenge politics (for the redistricting) at it's worse. Tax cuts and no increases to minimum wage are both strong GOP positions. Finding out that people who share those values contribute to those candidates is a no issue in my book. Now if a liberal group contributed to a conservative candidate, and the candidate suddenly was voting with the Dems, then you have something, or vice versa.
  24. Texsox replied to Balta1701's topic in The Filibuster
Lies, distortions, and half truths. DeLay wouldn't take Russian money, he's a Republican. The Indians shouldn't be taxed on their gambling revenues, because that would slow the economy, by the Indians keeping more of their money and spending it, more money will be paid in taxes down the road. Republicans never want to see government mandated wages increase, so his position that those textile workers should receive government mandated wage increases is consistent with GOP beliefs. Politicians cannot make fundraising calls from government offices and have to leave the property. I think it is nice this group allowed Tom "The Hammer" DeLay to use some space so close to his office. Getting rid of Democrates should be DeLay's passion. They have no value, and are just f***ing up the country with their unAmerican thinking. There probably should be a constitutional ban on them, then those activist judges would finally accomplish something useful for mothers, apple pie, and baseball. Hammer Time 2008
