Yee Haw Reminds me when Governor Jim Thompson (before he became FlaSoxxJim) downed a couple beers from a toilet plunger at an Illini game

:headshake To protect your family, the gun needs to be accessible, loaded, and ready to go. Most home evaders will not wait for you to fiddle with a safety and get the gun loaded. This is why, for my family, I decided a home protection handgun would be more risk than reward and instead invested in a really kick ass home security system. I also trained my dog to attack the intruders face and genitals (at least that is what the warning sign says.) victim brother mom

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) Did you claim it on your taxes as well then? Again, IIRC it was below the reporting threshhold. I'm not nearly smart enough to do my own taxes beyond, please sign here and give me a check.

IIRC, I reported it as a gift, along with a notorized statement. Spring, a great time to look at houses, I wonder why :rolly

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) I forgot about Waynes' World. I love seeing that big rooftop Capitol Cigar Store indian from 63rd and Pulaski in that film. For the life of me though, I've never been able to find a Stan Mikita's Doughnuts on that block... My north suburb bias is showing through with Ordinary People (Lake Forest) and Risky Business, also I believe Lake Forest. The birthplace of both my children.

It didn't mention how they determined what was positive and negative. For example, during the Monica Lewinsky craze, did the press have a responsibility to find positive things to write about to balance all the negative? Should Woodward and Bernstein been required to fill half their stories with happy news about what Nixon was engaged in? Some stories are negative and that is what makes news. Fox News is reporting that no one died from Tsunamis today. We go on location around the Pacific for this breaking news Elected officials are much more likely to receive negative press than the challengers. The candidate isn't doing much but delivering carefully scripted campaign speeches, while the elected official has to actually work and can not hide. Of course if you drink the GOPer Kool Aid this is all a conspiracy by Americans to only allow the GOP to have 24 hours of opinion and not 55 seconds of news coverage.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Sunday nights, 10:30. Just after Monty Python and just before Dr. Who. That line-up was the only great thing on TV on Sundays, and it was what I looked forward to most next to Creature Features and Son Of Svenghoolie. Misty, water colored memories . . .

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) While that is truly the point, no amout of explaining will get that thru the heads of the resident liberals here. It doesn't matter what kind of person they are, or how hard they work or how amazing they are, THEY ARE HERE ILLEGALLY. Bush supporters have pointed out that $2 gas crushed the Bush recovery, imagine what a 15-20% spike in food prices would do. People can cut back on driving, not on eating. Yes they are because we do not want to pay $5.00 for a tomato. Americans will not pick crops for 8 hours a day for $5.15 or even more per hour. Then move to the next town. Take 40 hours a week at $6 per hour. How are you going to live, on the road, for $200 a week? How many hours are you willing to spend in the fields? These jobs are the absolute lowest jobs anywhere. They take almost zero skills, no decision making beyond, this is a tomato, I have to pick it. Eliminate the Mexican farm worker, and you will have to pay $10 or more per hour to get our food picked. We need some guest worker program so we can face the reality that A. The American workers and economy has moved beyond these jobs. B. There are millions of people on this continent that are happy to work. Alternate scenario: Growing food is too expensive in the US, so we import more and more of our foods from South America and other spots around the globe. Think being dependent on foreign oil sucks? How about being dependent for our food?

QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 08:41 AM) I think there oughta be an investigation - and if the ignorance defense is true, the dozen other congresspeople oughta get some sort of censure.... But DeLay is facing his fourth ethics violation within a 12 month time span. That's just ridiculous. And he's under investigation for a possible felony indictment too. That's nothing by society's bias against Texas :rolly What I find distressing is someone proposes to fly you to Korea for a couple day junket and it is such a routine act, there is nothing but either an internal vetting or a "hey, there are other people going so it must be ok?"

I just realized, I should probably add to my tattoo This is *not* a coffee table

I thought funniest mime was an oxymoron If a mime get's arrested, do we have to remind him he has the right to remain silent? OK, of all the mimes on the face of the earth, you found one who is actually funny

When stuff like this happens, the DEM and GOP labels should be tossed out the window and let them face the music. Partisan politics being what it is, some peole feel compelled to defend "their" guy.
